8| Reyna Avila Ramirez Arellano

in which reyna gets herself into some deep shit.

Now, Reyna had seen some things, due to her father being a complete asshole. But this, this was beyond normal.

Yet there she was, sitting on a paint can, next to a blonde girl, in a janitor's closet while people were out there having some kind of murder spree.

In her highschool.

What fun! She thought, totally being anything but sarcastic. I love seeing people I like die!

Reyna snuck a quick glance at the blonde, who seemed to be in her own little world.

Her name was Annabeth, she remembered. Percy had mentioned her before, and Reyna had seen the two fighting earlier in the morning.

Wasn't it her first day at this school? Was it really all her fault that this was happening? What?

Reyna didn't even want to begin to comprehend what was going on. I mean, she'd seen one of her friends die, she's seen so much blood already, and there was so much of it on her hands.

There was so much blood.

She took a deep breath, and she decided she would at least try to understand.

"Hey." Annabeth said quietly, not looking at Reyna. "What did you mean before...— about your last period, I mean."

Reyna looked at the girl, taking her in. Being bisexual, she had to admit Annabeth was pretty. Well, when you overlooked her wild hair and ruffled clothing, she was very nice-looking. [ as a femslash enthusiastic i had too sorry ]

"Like I said," Reyna said coldly. "You don't deserve to know."

Reyna heard someone open the door, and she cringed, putting her knees even closer to her chest. She hoped whoever it was wouldn't check behind Mr. Thoth's desk, and would just stay where they were.

The mystery person started whispering rapidly to who it seemed like a girl, since from what Reyna could hear, the man was calling the girl a 'reason why females aren't trustworthy'. No matter who the girl was, Reyna wanted to get up and punch the guy in the face, even if she got killed for it.

The girl started crying, her loud hiccups interrupting what she was saying. Reyna resisted the urge to move closer to hear, but then they did what she wanted and moved a little closer to the desk.

"---lena, this is the second time!" The man said gruffly, sitting on the desk Reyna was hiding in. "If you ruin another plan, I will have you killed. Or even worse, I'll kill off your little boyfriend."

"No!" The girl cried. "Please! I won't do it ag---"

There was a loud slap, and the girl fell to the floor, her body falling close enough to where Reyna was, but thank all the gods-- no one saw her.

Reyna managed to get a glimpse of the girl before she stumbled up to face the man wo'd slapped her, hoping to see any familar signs that would help Reyna indentify her. But she was wearing a helmet, one with a sticker on it that said, Property of Clarisse LaRue.

No. It couldn't be Clarisse, right?

"Reyna? You okay?" Annabeth said suddenly, jolting Reyna out of her thoughts.

The dark-haired girl nodded quickly, averting the other's eyes. Annabeth opened her mouth to speak again, but then there was a knock on the door.

Annabeth and Reyna glanced at each other and froze. Say nothing. The blonde mouthed, her grey eyes wide.

"Annabeth?" A voice said after a moment of silence, and Annabeth visibly relaxed. "It's me."

But I don't know who 'me' is. Reyna thought, ready to run as Annabeth pushed the shellf out of the way and unlocked the door.

She gasped and stepped back, but Reyna's view was still blocked. She got up to see what was happening, and all she saw was a gun to her head.

"Move or die." A familar voice said, and Reyna Avila Ramirez Arellano realized that it was the man from before. The man who'd killed---

"Please don't hurt them." The blonde teen who the Man had a headlock on said. "Annabeth, I'm sorry-- he made me do it."

"Luke--" Annabeth started, but quickly getting interrupted.

"Oh shut up Castellan," The man said, his golden eyes peircing through his helmet (which all the baddies seemed to wear) and letting Luke free. "You can cut the act now."

Luke shrugged, taking out a switchblade from his pocket and putting on a helmet that had Half-Blood written on the top in deep red lettering. "I took those acting classes for nothing." He complained, but stopped after getting a dirty looked from the man.

"Sorry, Kronos." He muttered.

Annabeth's eyes filled up with tears, and Reyna could see that she accepted this as their end.

But Reyna---

Reyna could not.

She slapped the gun out of the man's hands, took Annabeth by the arm and pushed through the two... the two murderers who were blocking the way. Then she ran as fast her legs could take her, still gripping the other girl's arm.

She heard them getting up, but they were already half-way down the hall. All they needed to do was get to the elevators--- and they were free! They would make it to the boiler room, and she'd find her sister there, and all her friends, and it would be okay.

Then she heard what sounded like a gunshot.

Then she felt an unbearable amount of pain as she collapsed against Annabeth.

And then she closed her eyes.
