Chapter 4
It took Wally a few moments before he realized what Robin had just said to him.
"Your right, everything needs to stop."
He sounded so tied and defeated.
With that Wally stood up quickly and zoomed off towards Robin's room. He had a bad feeling, something wasn't quite right about this. His mind was racing with so many different possibilities at the moment. He soon reached Robin's bedroom door. He quickly knocked on it but there was no answer. He leaned forward and placed his ear against the door but heard nothing at all. He then tried to open the door but it was locked. Wally sighed and then looked down at the key pad by the door. Robin had given him and just him the over-ride key code in case of an emergency. Wally thought this seemed like a real emergency right now, he had no clue if his best friend was alright. Wally quickly typed in the code and the door suddenly came open for Wally. Wally entered the room to find it empty.
Wally looked around quickly and then a sound pinged at his ears, he could hear water running. Wally walked over to the bathroom door. He knocked once.
"Rob?" called Wally but there was no answer. So he tired again. "Robin, its me."
This time he thought he heard a small sob and he quickly pushed the door open. "I'm coming in Robin."
The door opened slowly and reveled a small, broken and bloody Robin sitting on the bathroom floor with a small razor blade in his hand. His wrist was covered in red and it ran down his arm and fell onto the white tiled floor of the bathroom. Tears streamed down from underneath his mask. His hands were shaking and he looked shocked and scared when he saw Wally standing before him, but Wally could also see that he was a little glad that he wasn't alone any longer.
"Dick!" Wally yelled and rushed over and fell to his knees before his best friend. He quickly grabbed a towel and threw it over Robin's wrist, which made his hiss in pain. Robin shoved KF back and threw the towel off of his wrist and brought the razor blade back down onto his skin. He pressed down but was stopped quickly by Wally.
"No! Robin stop!" Wally said in a high tone of voice, with panic behind it. "It's okay. I'm here. I'm here."
At this Robin broke down, he began to cry and cry. Wally drew in closer towards his best friend, took the blade from his tiny hand and threw it across the room. He then reached up, placing his hand behind Robin's head and drew him into his chest. Robin reached up and gripped tightly to Wally's t-shirt and cried heavily. They sat there for a few moments.
Soon Robin's tears has lighten up some. Wally kept his one arm wrapped closely around Robin while his hand brushed his dark black hair. He would once in awhile when the tears and sobs picked back up whisper to Robin.
"Shhh, it's okay. Everything will be okay I promise you. Shh Dick. Shh, it's alright. I'm here Rob and I'm not leaving no matter what."
Robin soon fallen asleep in Wally's arms, either due from crying or the amount of blood he had lost. Wally quickly bandaged up his best friend's wrist and then picked him up and laid him ever so gently onto his bed. He covered Robin up and laid his bandaged wrist out and on top of the covers. Wally then drew Robin's desk chair over and sat down beside his bed.
He knew Robin hadn't been sleeping lately and it seemed like finally he was resting. Wally's eyes kept drifting down to his best friend's now bandaged wrist. How could things have gotten so bad that his friend thought this was okay.
Wally leaned forward and laid his head in his hands. He was only 13, and already this kid had been through so much. Wally just wish he could take some of the weight and pressure off of his best friend's shoulder and make everything more bearable.
Wally sat there in silence for awhile before Robin began to move and awaken. His eyes soon fluttered open and as if everything suddenly came back to him in an instant. He shot straight up in bed and looked around the room. Wally could see that his eyes were glazed over and his pupils dilated. Wally slowly stood up. Robin turned to face his best friend, his eyes met Wally's and sadness filed inside his blue eyes.
"I'm...sorry." Robin said, his voice broke and a single tear ran down his face. Wally quickly moved to his best friend's side and wrapped his arms around him.
"It's okay." Wally said in a calming voice. He held Robin for a moment. Robin pulled away and looked at his best friend and then suddenly down at his injured wrist. Wally closed his eyes for a moment, wishing that this all was just a horrible dream and that he would wake up soon to fine that Robin was all right, but once he opened his eyes he knew that this was all real and Robin was hurting a lot.
"Rob...." said Wally but was cut off by someone knocking on Robin's door. Robin quickly jumped up from bed and threw on a hoodie and rushed to the door to answer it. He winced in pain when he did this. The door opened just a little bit to revel Kaldur standing there.
"Batman has arrived with a mission for us. Have you seen Kid Flash?" said Kaldur. Robin turned and looked behind him.
"He's in here, we were playing some video games. We will be there in a second." said Robin. His voice was even and he showed no signs of distress in front of Kaldur.
Kaldur nodded and left them all alone. Robin quickly closed the door and leaned against it, resting his head backwards. He sighed and then went over towards his closet. He pulled out a clean uniform and then turn to face Wally standing right behind him. Wally sped over towards him.
"Dick, you need your rest. You shouldn't be going on this mission." Wally said. Robin chuckled and threw off his hoodie.
"Yeah right, Batman would love that." he said. Wally ran his fingers through his red hair and walked next to Robin. He laid a gentle hand upon his shoulder and turned him around to face him. Wally could see Robin right now. He could see that broken bits of him in his eyes but he could also see the mask he always wore, the mask of a happy and energetic young teenager. He knew that Batman would be pissed and that Dick had to always do what he said. Wally sighed and nodded in agreement. He understood even though he really wished that Robin would stay behind and rest but also he feared of him being all alone right now.
