TOO FAMOUS ! by KissLeclerc
February 9, 2024 # "Can We Do A Redo?"
WAKING UP FROM her usual Friday afternoon nap, Devyn checked the time to see it was nearing 5:00PM, noticing Reneé might've already left for her evening lab class, even if it was a little earlier than usual.
Stretching in place, Devyn reached over to grab her phone to see many notifications, a majority being from her friends sending TikToks, and Ollie texting casual updates about his day. She quickly sent him a good morning text, although it was practically the middle of the day before she decided to get up and tend to her needs and use the bathroom, when she heard a knock at the door.
Clueless as to who that can be since Reneé left for class, Devyn attempted to wake herself up more by massaging her cheeks in place and quickly walked up to the door before checking the peep hole, seeing the person she least expected.
"Marcus?" She questioned, unamused to see the blonde standing right in front of her.
"Hi." Was all he let out. "Err.. Can I talk to you?" He asked as she looked away for a moment to think. "Uhh.. Yeah. But just wait in here." Devyn moved to the side.
"I need to use the bathroom, so I'll be back." She explained before grabbing the keys off the shared rack she had with Reneé before exiting, and walking down the hall to the communal bathrooms.
"Ollie, come on, where are you? I'm already late for class!" Reneé groaned on the phone as she was stood out in the cold, looking for the tall racer who had finally arrived to Cardiff.
"Im trying to keep a low profile, I'm sorry—" He apologized. "But I'm coming round the corner right now, I'll be there in a minute." He said over the phone as Reneé rolled her eyes. "I'm gonna kill you." She sighed.
"Reneé!" He called out, the blonde being able to hear it through the phone and in person, making her turn around to be met with the familiar brunette she had only seen online.
"Finally." She groaned, huddling toward him in the cold air as he was nuzzled into a large winter coat.
"Hi." He greeted awkwardly as Reneé looked him up and down before shaking her head. "Here." She shoved her bright pink lanyard in his hands. "I'm only gonna walk you in, but after that I need to get to class." She walked past him and toward the front doors of her dorm.
Following after Reneé, Ollie stayed close as she showed her ID to the front desk for proof of residence before taking Ollie to the elevators and stopping there. "Use this key." She pointed at a specific one. "It'll be on the third floor, room 308." She instructed as she pressed on the elevator buttons.
"You got it?" Reneé asked, looking down at her watch.
"Yes! Thank you so much." He smiled as he gripped into her keys. "I'll give these back to you later." He jingled them in her face.
"Yeah, I hope you will?" Her tone unamused. "Anyways, I really have to go." She apologized. "Have a beautiful time. But don't do anything weird." Reneé pointed. "Okay, see you!" She hurried off toward the doors, quickly exiting.
With the elevator doors opening, Ollie walked in and pressed the button that displayed 3, following Renee's instructions. He stood patiently as the ride only went up three floors, getting off on Devyn's hall in no time.
He felt a pit in his stomach, excited to see her. He came all this way to visit a girl he just met last month, but it felt like he's known her for years.
Eager to finally rip the bandaid off and surprise her, he followed the hallway signs and went to the side that displayed the range of Devyn's room number between "301-310."
Gripping onto the dorm key on Renee's lanyard, Ollie finally made it to the door that displayed the big bold numbers of 308, along with a small white board with familiar doodles of Miffy, assuming Devyn drew it. He inserted the key before turning it over, walking in to be met with not who he expected at all, but instead, some random guy laid in her familiar green sheeted bed.
"Hi?" The blonde sat up, questioning Ollie as he walked in with a confused expression.
"Erm.. Hi.." He furrowed a brow, looking back at the door to see it was definitely Devyn and Reneé's dorm. "Who are you, exactly?" Ollie asked as he set his backpack and gift bag for Devyn down.
"I should be asking you that?" Marcus laughed. "I'm Devyn's boyfriend."
"Boyfriend??" He said with a shocked expression before turning around at the sound of Devyn's voice, who had just walked in.
"Hey, why is my door— UHM?!" Devyn stopped in her tracks. "You have a boyfriend?!" Ollie quickly asked with a tone of confusion as Devyn blinked her eyes rapidly.
"What??? Wait huh?" She raised a brow. "Boyfriend?" She asked, still trying to register the tall British boy standing in her room.
"This idiot says you two are together?" Ollie pointed at Marcus as Devyn stood frozen. "Wait no no no no!" She shook her head. "We are literally not together, first and foremost." She groaned. "That's Marcus." A sigh escaped her mouth, making Ollie turn to him and then back to her.
"The one that stood you up?" He was now more confused than ever. "I was actually gonna talk to her about that." The blonde spoke up, making Ollie turn. "Has it not been a month since it all happened? Why's it taken you so long?"
"Alright, I can't do this." Devyn groaned once into her palms once again.
Rubbing her temples in confusion, it soon turned into irritation. "Marcus, get out." She pointed at the door. "I don't have time for this." She said unamused before the French boy gave in and shoved past Ollie, not looking back.
Falling silent, Devyn stood frozen in the room before he finally spoke up. "Well. That ruined it." He sighed as she refused to look at him, a sigh escaping his mouth in return.
"Nice to see you too." He took a few steps forward, placing himself behind her. "Hi." She laughed as she felt him place a hand on her shoulder.
Slowly turning around, she found herself enveloped in a hug that instantly melted away any tension between them. Ollie laughed as he embraced Devyn, sparking the same sounds from her in return. They lingered in their embrace for a moment, enjoying the comfortable silence before she released him, unintentionally taking in his scent as she did so. "Can we do a redo?" She asked, looking up at him.
"What do you mean?" He tilted his head with a question. "Get out." She pointed. "What?" He laughed at her eagerness before she began pushing him towards the door.
"Wait let me take this off first—" He struggle to take off his winter coat before yanking the garment of clothing off, leaving him in just a cozy sweatshirt.
"Knock again, and we will have a redo." She explained, holding down a laugh as she opened the door for him.
Quickly shutting the door behind him as he was now stood in the hallway alone, Devyn gave it about three seconds before hearing a knock at the door.
"Oh boy! Who must that be!?" She exclaimed, making sure he heard her words through the walls. "Reneé?" She asked before opening the door once again.
"NO WAY!" She gasped, dragging out a whole theatrical perfomance. "OLIVER BEARMAN!" She squealed before yanking him back into the room, and closing the door with just one swift kick. "To whom do I owe the pleasure?" She took him in for a large embrace and mocked a british accent.
"You are such a dork." He laughed before swiftly tossing her over his shoulder in one quick movement with no warning, making her squeal. "Bro." She laughed as she hung upside down, the only view she had being his back. "Put me down, you goof."
"I was right!" Ollie laughed as he looked into the body mirror sat within the dorm room. "You are like a sack of potatoes."
"Oh yeah, because it's definitely a girls dream to be compared to a sack of potatoes." She said before Ollie set her down. "So sweet and kind. So amazing with your words."
"What can I say? It's a talent." He shrugged.
"This is so weird." Devyn stood across from him. "You're literally in my dorm right now." She bit down her smile. "Why are you here exactly?"
"Surprise!" He smiled. "Oh! Which reminds me." He walked toward his closet where he had set his things down. "For you." Ollie handed her a bouquet and gift bag.
"Tulips?" She gasped, frowning at the gesture before looking at him. "This is so sweet?!?" She said through fake cries that were probably turning into real cries.
Setting the bouquet of tulips aside, Devyn grabbed the gift bag before removing the tissue paper to be met with the cutest Miffy stuffed toy, and a mini castle figurine.
"THIS IS SO CUTE?" She turned to him with a wide smile, tears nearly forming. "I LOVE THIS." She held the Miffy stuffie.
"And this?" Devyn picked up the castle figurine. "This is really cute— WAITT???" She gasped. "IS THIS?"
"A pink castle with white doors, white window frames, and a purple roof?" Ollie asked. "Yes." He nodded happily as Devyn began to laugh. "I listen!"
"You're such a dork." A single tear slid down her cheek, mocking his previous words. "This is really sweet." She said happily as she wiped away the tear, bringing him into a comforting hug once again.
"Anything for the prettiest girl in the world." He said calmly before she groaned obnoxiously loud into his chest.
"You're actually the worst." She pulled away as he gave her a look of confusion. "Stop being so sweet, it makes me ridiculously sick of you."
"Oh, how charming." Ollie exhaled a laugh as Devyn continued to hold onto him.
"Of course!" She paused. "You are my princess after all."
