Goten's POV

I groan as I shut off the annoying alarm that sits next to my bed. Today will be the first day of my sophomore year in high school. I have been homeschooled up to this point and finally convinced my mother to let me go to public school. She enrolled me in Orange Star High and I am taking classes that are way above my grade level.

My mother was very strict, when I was younger, about studying and doing my school work. I was always being compared to my twin brother Gokai. Gokai always understood things instantly and I always had to ask him to help me. He is like my personal body guard and is always looking out for me, to the point where it's hard to imagine life without him nearby.

"Goten! Get out of bed, or we'll be late!" I hear from outside my bedroom door.

"Ugh, fine. Give me a few minutes" I shout back.

I climbed out of my bed and the cold air sent chills down my spine. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed some jeans, boxers, and a black t-shirt. I opened my door and smelled bacon.

I ran into the bathroom, and looked in the mirror at myself. I was muscular, but not insanely so. My black hair was disheveled, but a shower could fix that. I turned the water on warm, strip off my boxers, and step into the steaming water.

I like showers, probably more than a normal person. I don't just see them as a way to get clean, but also a way to cleanse yourself. The water washes away the impurities and stress so you can start fresh everyday. I usually end up taking very long showers, because I need a relief from my stress.

I am gay, and no one knows about it. Gokai might suspect me, but he has never asked me about it. My mother us extremely homophobic, and she divorced my father because she found out that he was bisexual. I just hope that I can keep this a secret.

"Goten! Get out of the shower already!"

"Oh crap. Sorry Gokai, give me 5 more minutes" I shouted hurriedly putting shampoo in my hair.

I quickly rinsed myself off and hopped out of the shower. I dressed myself and ran out of the bathroom. I saw Gokai standing there with an annoyed expression.

"I don't even wanna know what you do in there" He said going in.

I went downstairs to grab some breakfast. I passed my mother and felt a pang of hurt ran through me. I know I can never tell her about the real me. I can't even begin to imagine how badly she would react, she might even beat me.

"Good morning sweety" she said in her fake cheery tone.

"Good morning mom" I say in a similarly fake tone.

"You ready for school?" she asks.

"Yeah. I can't wait" I said honestly.

"Well you look adorable. The girls certainly will fawn over you" she said with a giggle.

"Whatever you say" I responded

"Watch your mouth!" she yells as her hand comes across my cheek.

Yeah my mom has also been very abusive toward me. I think it's because I look so much like my dad. Every time it's us alone, she will always slap, punch, or yell at me when Gokai isn't around. Gokai has always been her favorite and I have been on her bad side since my parents separated.

"What's with all the yelling?" Gokai asked as he came down the stairs.

"Oh your brother was just mouthing off, so I was reminding him that I am his mother" she said as she sent me a death glare.

"Goten, please stop upsetting mom, we have to get to school" Gokai said grabbing his school bag.

I followed suit and soon we were out the door. I heard my mother call out from behind us, but I didn't care to know what she had to say. Gokai started asking me about what I thought high school would be like, but I honestly had no idea.

I never had any friends before because I have been kept to the confines of my house. I had no one to ask, and I was pretty scared. Gokai must have sensed this because he wrapped his arms around me in a hug and flashed me one of his infamous smiles.

"Don't worry Goten, everything is going to be fine"

"I hope your right. I'm just a little nervous is all. Thank Kami we share almost all of the same classes" I sighed.

Gokai and I were overjoyed to find out that we only had two classes we didn't share. He was taking Physics and I was taking Chemistry. Both advanced, but Physics was a senior class and Chemistry was a junior class. Then he was in Calculus, while I was in Pre-Calculus.

As the school came into view, the butterflies in my stomach intensified. What if I get bullied? What if everyone hates me? Or worse, what if someone finds out?

Gokai and I hurried into the huge brick building and found our classroom. The bell rang right after I walked into the room and everyone just stared at us. I felt very self conscious, but Gokai had enough confidence for the both of us.

"Class we have two new students joining us today, pease make them feel welcome. Would you two like to introduce yourselves?" An old woman spoke from her desk in the corner.

"Certainly, I am Son Gokai, and this is my brother Goten" Gokai said with a smile.

I saw a few girls in the back giggle, and I knew Gokai had already made an impression. I had yet to speak and made it through all of class without talking to anyone.

The next class was one I didn't share with Gokai, and I was very nervous. What if I make a fool of myself? Or What if someone is rude? What if I don't understand the course?

I sighed as Gokai and I had to separate. I walked into the classroom and noticed that barely anyone was here yet, so I took advantage of that and took a seat in the back corner. In just a few seconds I saw a group of people that caught my eye. Well, more one person in the group.

He had jet black hair, eyes like mine, but he was very well built. I snapped myself out of my trance before I started drooling. He and I made eye contact and I thought I was going to pass out.

The bell rang and he took the seat in front of me. He turned around and stared at me for a little. I started to blush, and he smiled.

"Hi, I'm Gohan, are you new?" he asks extending his hand.

"Y...ye...yeah. I'm Goten" I said extending my own hand to meet his.

The teacher walked in and almost immediately wanted me to introduce myself. I didn't want to do this because I am a very timid person. She wants me to say my name and one interesting fact about myself.

"My name is Goten Son and I love martial arts" I said with a slight smile.

I heard a few girls talking, and looked at Gohan again after I finished speaking. He looked at me with a state of wonder, I don't think he expected me to do martial arts.

The rest of class consisted of me getting to know everyone in the class. This was the first day, but since I was new to the school, I had to go first. Gohan was last and all the girls stared at him intensely. I suddenly got the feeling that he was very popular and very well liked.

"I'm Gohan Son. No relation to Goten. And I once dyed my hair yellow" he said confidently.

The bell rang right after and I bolted from the room. It's not like I didn't want to look at Gohan some more, because I could sit there all day and do that, but the girls pretty much swarmed him as the bell sounded and blocked my view, so I was hurrying to meet up with Gokai.

"Goten, how was class?" he asked once we were side by side.

"It was pretty great actually. Everyone seemed to be so busy with the activity that almost no one really paid attention to me" I said truthfully.

"Almost no one?" he asked.

"Some guy, I'm guessing he is popular, introduced himself to me and smiled. After I introduced myself to the class he looked at me for a little, it was kind of strange" I admitted.

"That does sound strange. Anyway we have to get to study hall" Gokai said quickening his pace.

I followed and we got to the room as soon as the bell rang. He chose a seat in the middle of the room and I chose the one behind him. He seemed to not have a single fear in the world, and I was always amazed how he was never nervous or afraid.

The period started and since no one had any homework, most of is talked to those around us. Since the only person I knew was Gokai, my options weren't exactly endless.

"Tell me more about this guy last period" Gokai said with a smile.

"Well his name is Gohan, he has black hair, and huge muscles. The odd thing was that his eyes never seemed to leave me during the whole period. He seems very popular by the looks of all the girls hanging around him" I explained.

Gokai smiled and just started giggling. I looked questionably at him and he just winked. I wondered why until he tapped a random girl in the shoulder.

"Excuse me. But do you know of a Gohan here?" he asked.

"Yeah. Gohan Son. He is a Junior and very popular. He is the captain of the baseball team. He is quite the catch" she said with a smile.

The rest of the period consisted of me asking Gokai a bunch of questions about how to deal with anxiety. The bell rang and I was off to my next class without Gokai. I walked into the room and saw yet another empty desk in the back of the room. I took it and was minding my own business when a hand landed on my desk.

"Oh. Um. I'm sorry. Do you want this desk?" I asked grabbing for my bag.

"Hehehehe" I looked up and saw a tan man with sapphire eyes and lavender hair.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"Just thinking that you are way too cute for me to not know you" he said with a wink.

"Oh. Well, I'm Goten. What's your name?" I asked with a smile.

"Trunks. Trunks Briefs. Captain of the football team. But you can call me your boyfriend" he said with another wink.

"Well thanks for introducing yourself Trunks. Would you like to be my friend?" I asked.

"Whatever I can to be as close to you as possible" he said with a hug.

Class started and he wouldn't stop staring at me, like Gohan. I swear, I don't know if Trunks was serious, or if he was kidding, but he is too hot to be into me. I spent all of class thinking about what had happened so far today.

I already had two people who caught my eye, and introduced themselves to me. I don't know if they are interested in me the way I am in them, but I don't know how to choose. Trunks has bigger muscles but Gohan seemed a lot more tame. Their looks were equally hot, and so were their voices.

This was insane. No one knows I'm gay. My brother seems to think guys hitting on me is funny. My mother would be disgusted if she found out I was dating a guy. And these two are perfect in every way. High school is going to be hell.
