Title's POV

I was so happy that my mom had agreed to my request to invite Kaownah for dinner. If Kaownah was present, then I had an excuse not to entertain Santa. I still tended to look upon Santa as that pesky kid who would always insist on joining me and Cooheart in our activities.

Kaownah was sitting on the couch close by my wheelchair, and I was showing him pictures on media of the accident that I and Cooheart had gone through during our trip to the River Kwai when the front door buzzed.

Santa walked towards the door to open it but my mom reached the door ahead of him.

"Cooheart!' I heard her say excitedly. "How nice to see you again!"

I quickly wheeled myself to the front door to greet Cooheart as well but Santa was blocking my way.

"It's good to see you again, Cooheart," I heard Santa saying.

This cheeky disrespectful boy was not using any honorifics on Cooheart. I pushed him aside and wheeled myself so that Cooheart could see me.

"Title!" Cooheart said. "I have been trying to reach you all day but you're not taking my calls! What's wrong with you?"

"I'm sorry, Coo," I said. "I must have been in the middle of my physical therapy session and did not hear my phone ringing."

"Oh, you had a therapy session today?" Cooheart asked.

"Yes," I replied. "In fact I have invited my therapist to join us for dinner. Come let me introduce him to you."

Cooheart followed me into the living room while my mom and his mom started chatting while walking into the kitchen where my mom was surely going to show her some new recipes that she was working on.

"Finally, I get to meet you," Kaownah said to Cooheart after I had made the introductions. "Title was just showing me the news and photos of the accident that you got into while touring Kanchanaburi to visit the famous bridge on the River Kwai."

Cooheart made a face.

"I don't wanna be reminded of that," he said. "I have barely recovered and Title is still having his therapy sessions with you."

"I'm sorry about the accident," Kaownah said. "I understand how you feel. I wouldn't want to re-live it either."

"You shouldn't have gone there on that day," Santa, who had been silent up until now, suddenly spoke up. "It was a very rainy and windy day and the river was overflowing with the rain water."

"Shut up," I said to Santa. "Nobody wants to hear your opinion."

"Actually Santa is right," Cooheart unexpectedly took Santa's side. "But it's too late for should've's could've's would've's, innit?"

Kaownah started to look uncomfortable. He turned to me and asked, "Do you think I should go to the kitchen and offer to help your mom with setting the table?"

"No," I replied. "The housekeeper will take care of that."

"Can I talk to you in private for a minute?" Cooheart asked me.

"Sure," I replied. I turned to Kaownah and said, "Please excuse me and Cooheart for a few minutes."

Kaownah nodded, still looking uncomfortable for some reason.

Cooheart followed me as I wheeled myself towards my room.

The moment I closed the door, Cooheart said, "Kao and I have broken up."

"What the hell," I gasped.

"I think his ex-girlfriend contacted him." Cooheart informed me, his lower lip starting to quiver.

"I wanna break his neck," I said.

"Maybe it's for the best," Cooheart said.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and then the door opened slightly and Santa stuck his head in, saying, "Title, your mom is calling you and Cooheart. Dinner is ready. Everyone is already at the table."

"Let's go," I said to Cooheart.

Dinner was a lively affair with Santa doing most of the talking. He was trying to update us with what had been going on in his life during the time that we had lost touch with him.

It looked like his mom has been grooming him to take over their bakery business because he has been taking courses in culinary arts and business management.

"What is your favorite cake or pastry to make?" Cooheart asked Santa.

"Pineapple Upside Down cake," Santa replied. "I can teach you how to bake it. It's so simple and easy."

"I would like to learn how to bake it, too," I said.

Kaownah who was sitting beside me, patted the top of my hand, saying, "Let's get you on your feet first. I'm willing to make double time on your therapy session to get you back on your feet."

My heart started to do cartwheels in my chest.

"I'm more than willing to do that," I said to him with a big smile.

Soon dinner was over and Kaownah was thanking my mom for the delicious prime rib roast.

"I will accompany you to the door," I said to Kaownah.

"Is day after tomorrow a good day for you to resume your physical therapy session?" Kaownah asked at the door.

"Of course," I replied.

"Thank you for joining us for dinner," I said to him, extending my hand.

Instead of accepting my hand, he bent and gave me a hug.

"The pleasure was entirely mine," he said, placing his arms around me. His manly fragrance wafted to my nose, making me giddy with the desire to have him hold me in his arms for the rest of the night.

Then the most unexpected thing happened.

He tilted my face upwards by putting the tips of his fingers under my chin.

I automatically closed my eyes as he moved his face nearer and nearer to mine.

"Title! Cooheart is asking for you!" Santa appeared from behind my wheelchair.
