Kaownah's POV

As soon as I left Title's house, before I even started my car, I gave a call to our manager Veronica.

"I'm glad you called," Veronica said before I could even greet her with a 'hello'.

"Why?" I asked.

"Now that your therapy period with the Puangmalee client is completed, I have assigned you to another client," I heard her say.

"Wait, wait, wait," I said. "Title has told me that he would like to extend his therapy sessions with me."

"Why?" she asked.

"He said he feels that he still needs me," I replied.

"How are you going to justify that to his insurance company?" Veronica asked.

"The patient has stated that he needs more guidance to transfer safely from his wheelchair to his bed or to a sofa or something," I said, feeling concerned for Title's safety now.

"Come over to the office and fill up the renewal of authorization," she instructed. "Be reminded though that it takes a week for the renewal to get approved. In the meantime, if he really wants you to continue with the sessions, he will have to pay out of pocket, then if or when the authorization kicks in, we can give him a refund of his money."

"Sounds like a plan," I replied. "I'm on my way there now."

Third Person POV

"You wanna help me bake some chocolate chip cookies?" Mrs. Puangmalee asked her son.

Mrs. Puangmalee had noticed how her son was just moping around the house looking like a lost forlorn lamb who had been abandoned by the mother sheep.  She wanted to help her son get rid of that miserable feeling.

The mention of chocolate chip cookies seemed to do the trick. Title's face perked up.

"Sure!" Title replied, wheeling himself quickly in the direction of the kitchen.

Soon Title was kept happily busy, mixing the all purpose flour with baking powder and salt. While he was doing that his mother used an electric mixer to beat the softened butter and granulated sugar and brown sugar together. Title handed his mother the egg and the bottle of vanilla. Mrs. Puangmalee mixed all the ingredients including the flour that Title had prepared for her. When the flour mixture had blended with the other ingredients, Title dropped in the chocolate chips. Then he spread the cookie sheet on the table and helped his mom to scoop the dough with a rounded tablespoon. He dropped each spoonful of dough two inches apart from the other onto the cookie sheet.

Mrs. Puangmalee took care of putting the cookie sheet with the cookie dough into the oven.

"How long do we have to wait until they're ready to eat?" Title asked eagerly.

"Roughly eight minutes, ten at the most," his mother replied, noting happily that Title's sad expression had cleared away from his face.

"I'm gonna watch TV while waiting," Title declared, wheeling himself towards the living room.

"That's a good idea," his mother replied.

When Title reached the living room, he thought of transferring himself from his wheelchair to the living room sofa, and then thought the better of it. He was not sure if he could do so without ending up on the living room floor.

He sighed before reaching for the TV remote control. He sorely wished that Kaownah would be able to come back and do more therapy sessions with him.

He switched from channel to channel not being able to decide whether he wanted to watch the news or to watch a talk show. Wait, the topic of the talk show was how to muster the courage to confess your feelings to someone. Hmmmmm ...

Title's thoughts immediately flew back to Kaownah as he listened to the talk show host interviewing a guest about how the guest managed to bring up the courage to let someone know that she liked that person.

"I simply texted him," the guest confessed.

Suddenly, Title's phone started to ring. He felt annoyed at the interruption because he was already all focused on the talk show topic. He glanced at the phone screen.

His heart jumped when he saw that it was Kaownah calling.

With a trembling hand, he picked up his phone and swiped his phone screen.

"Hello," Title said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"I got good news for you!" he heard Kaownah say with an excited and happy voice.
