Cooheart's POV
I didn't have the slightest idea what in bloody hell Kao was thinking because suddenly he grabbed Sek by the collar and forced him to a standing position away from me.
"Kao!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "What the hell do you think you're doing!"
"What am I doing???" he responded to my question with the same question, his hand still on Sek's collar, refusing to let go of Sek. "I am keeping him from trying to seduce you by using his physical therapy tactics on you!"
Before I could yell back at him, my mom's office door opened.
"What's going on here, may I ask?" my mom had her hands on either side of her waist, her elbows pointing outward, her eyebrows raised.
Kao immediately let go of Sek.
"I'm sorry, Mom," Kao replied, his cheeks turning red, his voice sounding penitent. "I didn't mean to cause a commotion. I'm gonna go now to my room to freshen up before Rose announces that dinner is ready."
And with those words Kao hurried out of the living room.
Sek clasped his hands together and bowed to my mom. My mom acknowledged his greeting.
"Did anything happen to make Kao behave the way he did just a few moments ago?" I knew that she was addressing her question to me because her eyes were on me.
I sighed in frustration before I replied to her.
"Sek was helping me do the strengthening exercises for my neck and shoulders," I explained. "I know that from Kao's point of view our position looked compromising but I swear it was all innocent."
Mom turned her attention on Sek. I was surprised to see Sek's face turning red. There was nothing for him to feel guilty about so I couldn't understand why he would be blushing and looking uncomfortable.
There was a brief moment of awkward silence before Sek spoke up.
"Maybe it would be best if I brought Cooheart to my company's physical therapy building," I heard him say. "I can pick him up from here and drive him over to my place."
My eyes widened when I heard him say 'my place'. He must have noticed my reaction because he hastened to clear up what he said.
"The physical therapy building where I work is not too far from here. I can drive you over there. There are rooms for individual clients to receive therapy over there," he said.
My mom considered what Sek said carefully and then said, "If you think that would be best, I'm not against it."
"It's settled then," Sek quickly said, coming back to me and helping me to sit up before carrying me in his arms and bringing me over to my chair.
I instinctively placed my arms around his neck, but said to him, "You didn't need to do that. You know that my knees are already strong enough to bear my weight."
"It's no trouble at all," he said to me as he gently set me down on my chair, his mouth inches away from my ear, his breath as he spoke tickling my ear.
I found myself blushing. Oh shit, my mom was looking intently at me with a curious look on her face.
"When his next therapy session?" my mom asked Sek.
"Day after tomorrow," Sek replied.
"I will take care of bringing my son to your physical therapy building," my mom said, this time with an unreadable expression on her face.
Just at that moment, Rose walked into the living room to announce that dinner was ready.
"Thank you for today's therapy session," my mom addressed Sek. "Rose will see you to the door."
And with those words, I saw Mom walking in the direction of Kao's room and when she reached the door, she knocked before opening it.
"Kao, come and have dinner, my son," I heard her say in a very loving voice.
For some strange reason, I started to feel jealous of Kao. My mom only ever reserved that loving voice for me, her one and only child.
