Chaoter 20

Rose and Harrison Thompson. As far as they were aware, weren't expecting any visitors. So when a sudden knock sounded, followed by the ringing of their doorbell. Automatically let the couple sense its urgency to be answered.

However, they were not in the slightest, expecting the care facility for littles to be on their doorstep.

Badges are then shown and their reason for being here stated. Harrison, who had answered the door, lead the male and female inside. Shutting the door and guiding them to the lounge. Confused as to why the care facility for little is in his house.

Last time Harrison checked. No little lived under his roof.

The gruff man is very aware of his son's natural classification. However, he denied it. And so took matters into his own hands, dealing with the situation how he saw fit. He is a respectable man. He shall not be made a mockery of having a little for a son. And he made sure to let Eugene understand that.

"You stated you came here about my son." Harrison started, folding his arms over his chest as he sat in his usual chair. "Can you explain to us what he's done, for us to understand furthermore why you're here, and if it's worth all of this hassle."

"Believe us, sir. This is worth the 'hassle'." The woman air quoted with a no-nonsense tone of voice. She is already not liking how the man felt about his son's health. Calling his son a nuisance.

To which littles are nothing but a nuisance in Harrison's opinion.

"Really? Then please, enlighten us as to why it will be worth our time." Harrison stated, in a tone that could only be described as emotionless.

Rose ignored how her husband spoke, and gave an apologetic look to their authorised visitors. The woman knew about her husband not wanting to accept that their son is a little, so understood why her husband's nature comes across as cold-shouldered. Thinking that with time, he will welcome the idea.

However, Rose, like Aunt May. Was blind to the fact it was more than being cold-shouldered. It was abuse.

"Well," the male cleared his throat. "Are you aware of Eugene, or Flash as he seems to go by, is selling highly illegal drugs to another classmate? Who so happens to be a little?" The man raised an eyebrow, looking between the couple for any sign of resentment, or even worry.

There was a not so miss-able sign of concern on the boy's mothers face, but as for the boy's father. There was more than just anger showing in the depths of his eyes. There was a slither of satisfaction too.

And why was that?

Because he is the dealer. He is the reason Flash had a hold of such drugs in the first place. And what caused additional satisfaction. Was the fact he won't be handed in.

He had Flash swear to secrecy. Stating that if his name got mentioned, then there was going to be hell to pay. Declaring how he is trying to help him out, as coincidently enough. Not only did he not want a little son, but Flash also didn't want to be a little in the first place.

Revealing how he had a reputation at school, and that he couldn't have it ruined over the stupid classification. And so it had given him more of a reason to import the drugs from overseas. Not to just benefit himself, but his son too.

It would make everything better.

Harrison scoffed. "I think you're wrong to assume my son is doing such illegal activities. Who's set this up? They should have proof if they're going to accuse my son like this."

"We're not at liberty to say who, as that's confidential. However, we have proof." The officer replied, his tone firm. "The victim of these drugs effects has had a high overdose intake. They're in the hospital, having just had their stomach pumped. He's lucky to have survived such a strong intake. With the situation they're facing, I don't think they would lie about their dealer. And with the story they've given us, it's believable that your son has been dealing illegal drugs." The man rambled, leaving no room for interruptions.

"What will you do if he is the victim's dealer?" Rose asked, voice wavering. Worry lacing her features, as a silent question of 'Why?' echoed in her head. Where did she go wrong in managing her household?

"That's where I come in." The woman beside the officer speaks up. "I'm Dianne. I work for the Care Facility For Littles. In cases like Flash's, he will be dealt with carefully. Therapy and a long hard lecture will be provided for him. We'll keep him under our wing until we feel like he can be released. No arrests will be made. Though it would have been different if the victim had died." Dianne explained though Harrison wasn't happy.

The smitten look was wiped from his face in seconds due to one, he could be caught here if his son is to be interrogated. And two said son had appeared at the doorway.

"I didn't mean for this to happen." The teenager spoke, his voice taking on a guilty tone. He had been on the stairs listening, and at the mention of what will and what has happened in the space of him dealing Peter more of the drugs, he decided to show himself. Not caring that he's blown his cover, and left his dad looking like a right idiot for defending him.

He could have killed someone, and that was enough of a scare to drop his bad-boy façade.

"Come down, sweetheart. We have a few questions for you." The woman politely called over, voice only reserved for littles.

In an instant, Flash finds himself sitting at his kitchen table.

He hates this table.

It never fails to make him feel small and insignificant. In the part of his mind he never allows to come to the forefront, he knows that he needs a booster seat. For now, he sits quietly as his parents settle around him and the officers sit in front of them.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled, meaning it.

"Shut up, " his father finally addresses him with a shout. "You sit there silently while I call the family lawyers." Harrison wasn't going to have any of this.

Flash opens his mouth to say something, anything to make his dad less angry with him. Only to quickly shut it at his next words. "One syllable and so help me--"

"That is enough!" Dianne cuts Harrison off before he put a horrible image in the little's head.

She can see why Eugene felt the need to protect himself and a fellow little. This house is not fit for a little, and any chance of the parents gaining back custody after his treatment just diminished drastically.

"I will not stand here and watch you threaten an already terrified little. You may call your lawyers as that is your right, but it is within my right to remove littles from their homes with unfit guardians. There will be a thorough investigation of the happenings in this house and the both of you." she stands and beckons her partner to follow before gently addressing Eugene.

"We need to get you help sweetie. Can you come with me so we can sort everything out?" Dianne had switched back to the gentle voice again, one that Flash decided he liked.

Flash looks at the woman's outstretched hand before looking back at his own. Finally mustering up the courage to look at his parents.

His facial expression shakes Rose to her core.

How could she not have seen it beforehand?

Her baby isn't afraid of leaving with these people. He's afraid of being left with his parents, more specifically, his father. How could she have been stupid? Harrison has always let his displeasure for the more sensitive classifications be known. Even toward his son.

She had stupidly thought that their late-night cuddle sessions, were enough to starve off his need to be fully little. However, it turns out not only was he taking illegal drugs to suppress the urges, but sharing them as well.

There is no point in dwelling in the past. There is only now and the future.

"It's alright, honey. You'll be just fine. Go with this nice woman and I'll visit you soon alright?" Rose wanted to hug her son so tight, though the urge was strong. She felt Flash didn't want her to pursue it. So she remained where she was instead.

"O-okay, " he answers finally taking Dianne's hand, allowing her to be led out of the house.

He's silently settled into the backseat of their car, which is thankfully not a cop car, though he still has a panicked moment of looking around to make sure the neighbours don't see him getting into a strange vehicle.

Just as they seem to be ready to go and Flash takes one last look at his home, thinking it might be a while before he has another chance, his mother runs out.

"Wait! One last thing!" she calls. "He can't sleep without his blanket and special soother, " his mother addresses Dianne before handing over a small bag.

Flash's face immediately heats up and he barks, "I don't need that. I sleep fine."

His mother only gives him a knowing smile, before stepping back to watch the car disappear down the road.

Mother's always know best.
