Chapter 19

Day 4 Part 2 - "Jieun, oppa"

After a less awkward bathing session, Jungkook and I got ready to leave for our works and stood before the apartment door to check our belongings.

"Did you get my wallet?"

He fumbled with his bag, searching for the brown item, and nodded. "Yep. We're all set."

"And our phones?"

He brought up my phone to show it to me with a grin, assuring me that it was my phone by flashing the screen that had the picture of him as the wallpaper.

I gaped in surprise. "When did you change the freaking wallpaper?"

"Not long ago," he drawled with a smug expression, slightly shaking the phone, showing off his picture.

"Change it," I said sternly.

"Nope," he sang, dancing a little while shaking his shoulders. "I changed your wallpaper, too."

"Huh?"

I took out the phone out of my jeans pocket and my eyes widened when the picture of me smiling and posing before a flower tree flashed before me on the screen. It used to be a picture of Cooky.

"What the heck, Kookie? Don't do such unnecessary things," I mumbled and unlocked the phone to change the wallpaper.

"Hey!" He grabbed my phone and held it up, whining, "Don't change it back! Having each other as wallpapers is fun and we can reconcile easier this way!"

Since he was shorter than me, his arm wasn't helping him take the phone away from me. He looked so adorable, pouting and trying so hard to save the work he did, struggling to stretch his arm further but failing to do so.

I stifled a giggle. "Cute."

He blinked repeatedly, freezing for a moment, and I took the chance to catch him off guard by leaning down, dropping my head closer to his with a restrained smile, my eyes softening on their own as they gazed into his wide ones. A soft squeak escaped his lips as he jerked a little backwards and I cooed internally.

"W-What are you doing?"

I chuckled under my breath before caressing his cheek with the back of my hand. His arm wavered, shaking a little before dropping down a little.

"Taking back my phone," I whispered and reached out my hand to steal the item before placing a kiss on his nose, causing him to jump backwards, hitting his head against the wall.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry," I chuckled, very amused by his flustered reaction, and rubbed his head, trying to soothe the pain.

"Y-You're acting weird a-all of a sudden," he stuttered, facing away from me.

I honestly didn't want to keep being hostile towards him... Instead, I just wanted to be like how we were like what he said. The tension between us was tiring me and draining me mentally. It was unnecessary.

I giggled, pinching his mushy cheeks. "It's not weird. It's my usual self coming back."

Or it's your aggressive ass influencing me...

"If you don't prepare for that, your head might get a huge bump," I sang and brushed past him, walking out the door with my bag flung over my shoulder.

The door creaked shut and the beeping sound of it echoed from behind me throughout the hall and the fast tapping sounds of footsteps followed.

"Hey, wait for me!"

I slowed down to let him catch up with me.

"You have fansign today, right? Did you prepare for it?"

Taking a deep breath, I shook my head, causing him to frown at me in disapproval.

"How was I supposed to prepare for that," I whined, defending myself in fear. "I don't know what happens during fansigns, I've never been to one. I watched them many times, but the videos don't capture what you talk about with fans!"

He sighed while facing the front. "Just answer their questions with enthusiasm, not too little but not too much information, just straight to the point. And always smile and gaze into their eyes like you cherish them."

I nodded. Tell me something I don't know...

"Wait." He paused on his tracks before looking at me. "Can you imitate my signature?"

The thought is finally sinking into his brain. Good job, Kookie.

"Believe it or not, but my writing looks nothing like my own now," I deadpanned. "So yes, I can write in your style. I believe your hand should have memorized your signature at least...?"

He thought for a moment, the cogs in his brain turning as his eyes were fixed on me, staring blankly.

"I'll be fine," I exclaimed and continued walking. "You just focus on your own work."

💫💫💫

Okay, I won't be fine...

I sat there among the members, facing the hundreds of screaming fans seated before me. To say that I was scared would be an understatement.

Okay, Y/N, don't fuck up... Don't fuck up...

The staff made a few announcements and the fansigning started.

I was sitting in the middle of the long table, so I had a little time to prepare my mind, to take a breather.

Okay, just smile and answer questions... You got this! How hard can it be?

The pounding of my heart could probably be heard by Taehyung and Jin who were sitting on either side of me. My mind was racing with endless "What if..." thoughts no matter how much I tried to calm down. Ironically, the more I assured myself, the more my hands started shaking.

The first girl with long straight dark hair, prominent cheekbones and feline eyes kept coming closer. Out of panic, I grabbed Jin on my left and took a deep breath.

"Yah, why are you touching my upper thigh," he whisper yelled, making me jolt and retract my hand that was dangerously close to his crotch.

I almost touched his private part, oh my freaking gosh!

"S-Sorry... hyung," I stammered, scratching my head, forcing a smile to seduce him to forgive me.

"Kookie!" A very smooth voice chimed and I turned my head to the front to scream internally at the sight of the girl kneeling in front of me.

"Hello," I sang with a cracking voice and cleared my throat before smiling at her. "What's your name?"

"Jieun, oppa," she giggled and my brow suddenly twitched but my stomach was fluttering.

You freaking maknae, you like being called oppa?!

My lips quivered but I kept my smile while signing the new album with her name.

"I was just joking, Kookie," she laughed. "I just wanted to see how you would react."

Oh wow.

"I see," I chuckled and held her hands after signing. "Thank you for coming."

"Kookie, you're really amazing. I always forget my worries whenever I listen to you singing," she said, gazing into my eyes and I felt the sincerity in her words. "Thank you for your songs. I really really love your voice. I really love you, Kookie."

"Thank you. I love you, too." I smiled back, shaking her hands.

I wished that Jungkook could hear what she said. Because what she said was truly heartwarming and it eased my anxiety even though it wasn't directed at me.

This is how it feels, huh...

The event ran smoothly and I actually remembered every fan who passed by me. The audience that once looked so foreign now turned into a very loving family for me. It wasn't dark anymore. I could look at every single one of them with endearment.

Taehyung suddenly leaned his head on my shoulder and the fans roared.

Wow, all these Taekookers...

My arm suddenly hurt when Jin punched me out of the blue, acting like he was boxing and my salty ass just returned the punch, but not without tripling it.

"Ow," he exclaimed and hit me again, pouting, but his eyes blazing.

The fans screamed and laughed while watching us fighting. After Taehyung sat up, I kept hitting Jin, but gently with a grin, my nose scrunched, and he was returning them with a suppressed smile.

"Oh my gosh, Jungkook!"

I turned to the next girl but my smile got replaced with a gape when I saw my colleague, Jina.

"Jina?" I stared at her surprised.

Her smile faded and she raised an eyebrow. "How do you know my name?"

Oh shit-

"Oh, uh..." I chuckled nervously, trying to think of anything, anything to get me out of this situation. "My friend told me about you." Fuck...

"Friend?" She became more confused.

"Y-Yeah... Y/N...?"

Her eyes widened. "Ohh! You two are friends?! She never told me about that!"

"Yeah?" I chuckled while signing her album. "You should ask her when you two meet."

Dang it... I forgot that she was going to this fansign.

"Yes, I will. Oh my gosh," she whispered, covering her mouth.

I suddenly remembered how my friends, Hina and Irina reacted to the same news.

I smiled to myself as I looked at Jina.

"Oh my gosh, indeed."
