SEPARATION- II
Tomisin sighed.
" God, what's happening this is not my family." said Tomisin silently as she entered the car but then her father saw her frown and felt guilt in his heart. And so resolved in his heart to change that frown to a smile.
On their way to church, Anjola thought of ways to make the atmosphere light.
"Holy Spirit please help me" prayed Anjola. And then he got a brillant idea.
" Tomisin, should I tell you a funny story?" asked Anjola.
At the mention of this Tomisin's face lite up.
"Yes!" Tomisin answered excitedly.
" There was a day in church that our Sunday school teacher was absent and we were to present on stage that day. Our Sunday school teacher had taught us all what to do but we needed someone to guide us in practice. We were to present a song in the main auditorium filled with adults. You see, the church was divided into 3 main sections which is still in place till today; the children church, the teens church and the adult church." said Anjola.
"So a friend and I volunteered to lead our classmates. We coordinated ourselves and practiced together but we forgot one thing. Do you know what it is?" asked Anjola.
Tomisin shook her head while her mum smiled because she'd heard the story.
"Don't worry, you'll know soon enough." reassured Anjola.
"Okay." said Tomisin preparing herself to listen to the remaining part of the story.
"We went on stage and presented wonderfully, you should have seen us we were amazing." said Anjola sounding sarcastic
Tayo was laughing at this moment, she couldn't hold it back anymore. Tomisin also laughed for no apparent reason. And that's how everyone was laughing without a course. Anjola continued his story in the midst of the laughter.
"Okay, so we sang and sang without knowing how to end the song."
another fit of laughter erupted.
"So I took the bold step to help us conclude the song but my co-lead singer didn't get the hint I was making, and I didn't know that he didn't. So I dropped the microphone on the floor and was about making a wonderful exit. I beckoned on the backups to follow me but do you know the amazing thing that happened, no body followed me. They continued to sing. And in shame I went back to pick the microphone I left on the floor and joined them in the endless suffered of singing one particular line non-stop." concluded Anjola.
"So how did you guys end the song?" asked Tomisin wiping the tears that formed in her eye while laughing.
"They sent us away politely and applauded us " answered Anjola also wiping the tears in his eye.
" I guess you guys forgot to practice how to end the song." concluded Tomisin in laughter.

"Are you sure the bomb will be installed properly? I really want to teach that engineer a lesson that no one messes with Dr, Popoola Daniel.
He'll see the doom I'll cause for him and his family. He'll know that in Nigeria, I'm a god." said Popoola to the person on the line
"Sir, he and his family will turn to ashes, they'll die instantly. Uhmm, so how are you teaching a lesson, sir?" asked the other person on the line.
"Shut up my friend, just do what I asked you to do, okay?" replied Popoola apparently annoyed and irritated by the question.
"Life is too short to suffer in this world. And someone is trying to teach me how to live honestly, what nonsense. Mtcheew" said Popoola soliloquizing after cutting the call.

"Dad!" shouted Tomisin as she ran out of her class towards her dad. She threw herself onto him when she reached him.
"Huff" breathed Anjola as he was surprisingly jumped upon.
"Tomisin never ceases to surprise her dad." said a co-worker who was passing by.
"Yes, she doesn't" replied Anjola while trying to ease the firm grip around his neck.
"Uhmm, Tomisin."
"Yes, daddy"
"Could you please stop strangling me"
"What's the meaning of strangling?" asked Tomisin as she unconsciously obeyed her father and loosen the strong grip she had on him.
"There , you've stopped." answered Anjola.
"Uh!" expressed Tomisin confused.
"Okay, do you know the surprise I have for you today?" asked Anjola
"No, you haven't told me" replied Tomisin.
"Great, now let's go and look for your mum." said Anjola.
15 minutes later
"Dad, will you tell me what surprise you have for me" asked Tomisin impatiently while sitting in the car.
Tomisin was in the car with her parents driving to a place where her father won't tell her of. In the midst of curiosity and anxiousness, Tomisin felt the nudge to pray.
"Father, thank you for what you've done for us today; daddy told a joke today and I learnt Love and Forgiveness during the Sunday School. Lord I don't understand why I'm feeling this way but my dad always tells me that when I feel the urge to pray, I should, so I'm praying now. But I don't know what to pray about. Holy Spirit please help me" prayed Tomisin. And then the Holy Spirit told her what to pray about.
Why don't you pray for safety
Tomisin smiled and obeyed the Holy Spirit.
'Lord, please grant us safety. Amen' prayed Tomisin.
"We're here"announced Anjola
Tomisin, like flash, stood on the car seat to get a good view of the place. It was a mall. And they were in front of a jewelry store.
"Tomisin come." instructed her mother while opening the door for her.
Tomisin was carried by her mum to the store.
When they walked into the store, they were greeted by a man behind a counter. The man looked like he was in his mid forties.
"Good day sir, ma and little miss", greeted the counter man.
"Good afternoon sir." replied Anjola and Tayo simultaneously.
"Good day sir!" replied Tomisin in a baby's voice.
Tomisin could shout and play like she had all the time in the world but when it comes to meeting people she tends to be quiet and look innocent.
The counter man smiled and stretched his hand to shake Tomisin. Tomisin shook the man's hand while in her mum's arms.
"Okay, I ordered a customized jewelry to be made for my little miss right here" said Anjola pointing towards Tomisin and Tayo's direction.
The counter man smiled and brought out a box.
On seeing the box, Tomisin got down from her mum's arms
"Dad, that's a box nah" said Tomisin
And everyone laughed at her innocence.
" What!!, Did I say anything wrong" asked Tomisin innocently.
"No dear, but you're just looking at the surface and not through the surface. Don't judge a thing by the appearance but by what it produce, okay" said her mum.
"Uhmm, okay, dad, can I see it?"asked Tomisin.
Anjola gave his curious daughter the little box.
Tomisin looked at the box for some time before discovering a lid on the side.
She opened it and saw a beautiful locket. By this time, her dad took it and placed it around her neck. Then he showed her what was inside. The locket had a picture of her on the left side and on the right side, it had that of her and her parents.
"Dad" exclaimed Tomisin before throwing herself on him.
Everyone in that store exclaimed "Awwwwn" and smiled because the sight was so beautiful.
Tayo joined in the hug, they remained in that position for a while with Tomisin in the middle of her parents.
When they let go of themselves, Tomisin scanned her gift and thanked her parents.
"Thank GOD" replied Tayo and Anjola smiled.
After the whole family moment, they entered the car with people staring at them. Their display of love in the jewelry store touched many. Some wished to have that but they didn't.
Oblivious to the fact that something strange had happened to the car, the all got out immediately they entered the car.
"Ohhh!!!, is it too hard to just remain in the car, person wan chop ooo, ahh , me I need the dough" commented a stranger in black hoodie staring at the the trio from a far away restaurant.
"Tomisin stay in the car with your dad, I'll be back let me get something at the food store" adviced Tayo.
"Are you sure, we could follow you" said Anjola.
"I'll be back very soon, it's not even crowned. I'll just get what we need and be back " reassured Tayo.
"Okay " replied Anjola and Tomisin.
Tayo went to the food store leaving both Anjola and Tomisin.
The stranger in the hoodie didn't notice the fact that Tayo wasn't with them in the car and a similar car was already parked in front of Anjola's.
Meanwhile, Anjola received a phone call and so went out of the car leaving Tomisin.
"I'll be back, dear" said Anjola to Tomisin.
"Okay" replied Tomisin while fiddling with her new necklace.
Anjola went far to receive the call because the car at the back of them was loud.
As he picked the call, he wondered why he didn't bother telling them they will be leaving soon.
Tomisin on the other hand wasn't disturbed at all by the noise because she was too focused on her necklace.
Now concentrating on the new car which wasn't his target, the black hoodie stranger waited for them to all get in.
Tomisin meanwhile felt the nudge to leave the car. And she did, she walked away from the car while the new set of people who owned the car at the back of her father's approached theirs.
And as they all entered the car the unimaginable happened.
The car exploded.
