But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Tomisin had woken up from a dream while sleeping beside Elizabeth. She didn't understand the dream she had; it was very strange and short but lasted for some good hours.
She woke up without a headache, ' how odd' she thought. Sitting upright on Elizabeth's bed, she pondered on her dream then did what she hadn't done since the bomb blast; pray.
"God I don't want to go to the orphanage home. Please Please don't take me there."
After praying, she tried waking Elizabeth up so she could get permission to go back to her room.
" Eliz, Eliz, wake up! I'm going to my room now." said Tomisin shaking Elizabeth violently because she is a deep sleeper.
"Uhm, uhm! Why are you waking me up? I want to sleep! Please let me sleep in peace. I'll wake up when it's morning." said Elizabeth drowsily, using a pillow to cover her face.
Tomisin rolled her eye at her and face palmed obviously frustrated.
"I'm waking you up because I want to go to my room. Remember what happened the last time I went to my room without telling you. You came to my room crying like a lost sheep." informed Tomisin recalling the annoying incidence.
" Tomisin as you can see I'm busy sleeping. Do whatever you want okay?" said Elizabeth trying to shoo her sleep disturber away.
" Okay oo, sha don't come to my room crying because I'll just snub you." said Tomisin leaning on Elizabeth's pillow so as to be heard.
"Uhmm yeah yeah! Just be going." said Elizabeth in a hurry to get some peaceful sleep.
Walking out of Elizabeth's room, she was greeted with a lit pathway that was oddly quiet. Sighing, she proceeded to her room turning at the corners that led to her room. On getting to her room, she didn't feel the need to go to sleep, so she grabbed her blanket and headed towards the north of the hospital, where there was a vantage point to watch the world go by. As she sauntered towards the balcony, she hope it wasn't locked because it was always locked in consideration of children going there and falling off due to childhood foolishness.
On getting there, she discovered it was opened, so she slid the glass door open and stepped out into the balcony. The cool December breeze brushed through her skin harshly causing her to shiver. Thankfully she brought her blanket. She wrapped it around her shoulder to protect her entire body from the harsh cold
"Uhmm, Christmas is coming soon"
Looking down at the street below her, she took in the beauty of the night and how the night blended well with the silhouette of the surrounding buildings. Sometimes nature tends to fill our mind with the wonders of God. The atmosphere was the perfect setting to think about life.
Admiring the craftiness of God, she thought about her life. She couldn't remember anything but there should still be hope for her. Judging from Mory's visage, she felt the orphanage home was a bad place to be not to think of spending Christmas there.
Sighing, she look up to the skies; there were a few stars decorating the dark blue sheet. The moon was brighter than ever, it's illumination pleased Tomisin and distracted her thoughts for a couple of minutes.
"What are you doing here?" asked a voice behind her, obviously shocked at the sight of her.
Tomisin was startled at the sudden sound that disrupted the quiet night. Turning around, she locked eye with John.
" Aren't you meant to be in bed at this time?" asked John drowsily.
" Yes I am." answered Tomisin being short for words to explain herself.
" Ohh, you know you shouldn't be outside, it's chilly out here." said John in a calm tone, shivering slightly at the cold.
" Yes, I'll go to my room now." said Tomisin sadly, proceeding to leave.
"No it's okay, you can stay besides it's my fault for leaving the door open." said John lowering his voice at his guilt confession.
"Thanks sir." said Tomisin smiling.
"But do go back to your room when you see goosebumps on your hands, okay?" said John turning to leave without minding to ask Tomisin if she knew what goosebumps meant.
"Sir, what's goosebumps?" asked Tomisin immediately he turned to leave.
"Tiny swelling on the skin as a result of cold." said John almost immediately Tomisin asked him the question.
"Ohh, okay." said Tomisin raising her hand to observe the supposed swelling.
"Did you see any?" asked John when he saw her looking at her hand.
"None." said Tomisin smiling at the fact that she could stay at the balcony.
"Good, but make sure you check it regularly." adviced John turning to leave.
Tomisin turned to face the streets
"Before I forget, don't tell anyone about this, okay?" said John with a serious face.
"Okay." replied Tomisin excitedly.
John turned to leave, and as he walked down the hallway, he looked back at girl who had lost her memory. He pitied her that was why he let her stay on the balcony. Maybe just maybe, she'll have a flashback. Most children with amnesia always find it hard to recall their my past lives. It was at the same time hard to locate their parents, that's if they're still alive.
John silently prayed that all goes well for her because honestly Tomisin's features weren't something one sees everyday. She had brown eye and skin which were quite common to Nigerians but her hair and facial look wasn't in resemblance to any Nigerian ethnic group. Her name was Nigerian—from the Yoruba tribe. But she didn't look in anyway Nigerian. Or maybe she was biracial like James.
He left after pondering on who Tomisin could be.

James got home and told his wife the good news. Christy was just as excited as he was. Now all they needed to do was process the document to get the custody of Tomisin while her parents were missing. Christy suggested he called Adams and so he did while they were preparing for bed.
« Good evening Adams » said James immediately Adams picked up the phone.
« Good day sir, how are you doing? » said Adams following his normal protocol of greetings.
« I'm fine thank you Adams and you?» replied James
« I'm wonderful sir, how's your wife and kids?» asked Adams.
« They are doing fine and yours?» replied James getting a little impatient now.
«Oh, they're also doing fine. You know Benita is going to get enrol to creche soon. It's been wonderful over here in Warri. » said Adams extending the call. James kept quiet and listened intently to him while frowning a little to which Christy laughed.
Adams is a good friend of James and also his lawyer regarding children cases in his hospital. Adam plays an important role in saving the lives of children who get physically abused by their parents. Adams and James share the same passion for children, the only difference was their field of application.
«That's wonderful to hear, the young girl is gradually becoming an adult»
« Okay, what do you want to ask me?» asked Adams with a smirk on his face.
« Yeah right, I want to get the custody of a kid in my hospital. How can I proceed to do that legally?»
« Ohh James! I knew that one day you'll do something like this. It's not quite easy but since you're a citizen of Nigeria you can have that kid's custody before Christmas.» said Adams smiling because he'd been anticipating for the day James would call him for a case like this
« All what you'll need to do is prove your worthiness to be the child's father then you'll sign some documents and the child will also do the same. Capeesh?»
« Yes, I understand, but what about Christy? She's also going to be the child's mother» asked James
« Ohh yeah, she'll also sign some documents»
« I'll prepare them and send them to you.»
« Great, thanks a bunch bro»
« You are welcome but before you cut the call. There are some limitations you'll have towards the responsibility of child since you're not the biological parent.»
« Okay, what are they?»
« You'll not be able to decide some medical emergency for the child like surgery. Only the biological parents are allowed that. That's one of the the limitations. I'll send the documents for the others. »
« Adams, so what if the child's parents can't be found?»
« Then you can proceed to adopt the child. That way you'll have full responsibility over the child.»
« Okay thanks, Good night.» said James before cutting the call.
"What did he say, James? " asked Christy coming to sit beside her husband.
" That we could get custody of Tomisin before Christmas." replied James frowning.
" That's great, so what's up with that expression on your face?" asked Christy studying his face.
" What expression?" asked James genuine confused. Christy tugged her mouth to the side and rolled her eye. Her usual signature when asked a question that she considered stupid.
James smiled and pinched her cheeks.
Looking into her eye he said," we might not be able to exercise some responsibility towards her until we officially adopt her that's if her parents can't be found."
Christy sighed," Ohh well, atleast we'll have her." smiled Christy.
"Yeah." replied James tucking her stray strand behind her ears.
" I think that would be a wonderful Christmas surprise for Tomisin." said Christy.
"Ohh yeah that's true, and you'll need to meet her. She's so cute and nice." suggested James pulling his wife along with him to bed
"Good night." they said simultaneously and laughing afterwards.
"Uhmm, aren't we forgetting something." said Christy.
" Yeah what?" replied James with his eye closed.
Clearing her throat, she said," prayer."
James eye opened in an instant to the amazement of his wife.
"Ohh yes that's true, how could I forget."
And they prayed; firstly giving thanks then praying concerning their family; for wisdom to take care of their children, for Elizabeth and Tomisin's full recovery, Michael's autism, for their future together, and the will of God to be done in their home.

Christy visited Tomisin the next day
They talked about a lot of things ranging from the hospital, to Elizabeth, to James then watched a movie together
" Nice spending time with you Tomisin." said Christy turning to leave.
" Same ma." replied Tomisin smiling.
" Mom there you are!" said Elizabeth causing the duo to turn to her direction." I've been looking for you, dad told me you were in Tomisin's room. So I thought of arresting both of you for discussing without me." said Elizabeth smiling and crossing her arm across her chest.
" Ohh Elizabeth, you are not serious!" said Christy. " I was just heading to your room you know." reassured Christy." So no need for the fuss. You know your friend here is kinda cute."
" Yes mommy." said Elizabeth leaving the door to join Tomisin on the bed." You know how I am. " said Elizabeth to her mom." And Tomisin I can't believe you left me all alone in my room." complained Elizabeth putting an arm across Tomisin's shoulders
Tomisin straighten her lips and rolled her eye in annoyance, indicating how foolish the statement was.
" I told you and you clearly said I could go" replied Tomisin.
" Ehn! when did I say that?" asked Elizabeth, her brows furrowed in confusion.
" Be asking me." said Tomisin pursing her lips together.
" Okay I'll ask you. When did I give permission to leave my room. You know I wanted us to watch another movie." said Elizabeth smiling, in a calm tone.
" Okay, I think I'll take my leave now. I'll be in your father's office. It seems you guys need to settle some matters."
" But mom you can watch a movie with us." said Elizabeth. Tomisin and Christy gave a knowing look to each other. Elizabeth noticed and said." Wait a minute, you guys watched a movie without me. How could you?" asked Elizabeth with tears threatening to fall. Tomisin hugged her friend immediately so as to calm her down.
" It's okay, we can watch another one. It's not that hard." appeased Tomisin.
" Yeah, you two can watch a movie together. " reassured Christy.
" Okay" sniffed Elizabeth. "I'll bring my tablet." said Elizabeth getting down from the bed.
" I'll follow you."suggested Tomisin.
Smiling, Elizabeth pulled Tomisin with her. " Bye mom."
" Bye dearies" called out Christy.
Leaving Tomisin's room, Christy headed to James office hoping that she'll meet him there.
Fortunately she met him heading to his office. They talked about Tomisin's with the lawyer, who was also at the hospital. Adams requested to see the child they wanted to adopt. Before that, they had a little conversation regarding life and all.
Getting to Tomisin's room, Elizabeth and Tomisin were already asleep.
" It seems the movie was quite boring." said Adams smiling at the sleeping forms on the bed.
" I don't think so, Elizabeth loves watching movie but always falls asleep before the ends of the movie. It's in rare occasions that you see her sleep after a movie ends" explained James smiling at his daughter.
"I think she's found a twin." said Adams smiling and putting his hand in his pocket. A gesture he's used to.
" Yeah" said Christy walking over to tuck the two girls in.

In a week time
Adams got the documents ready. It was a surprise to James and Christy that he got the documents in less time.
To their satisfaction he explained how he was able to do so
" It's easy to get things done if you're one of the outstanding lawyers in Nigeria and you work for a big organization that deals with children."
Two days before Christmas
The best way to surprise a child is to use another child.

When Elizabeth found out about what her parents did she stormed off to tell Tomisin with her parents trail behind her.
" Tomisin, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you." screamed Elizabeth, running down the hallway to Tomisin's room. She hadn't reached Tomisin's room but her voice could be heard all over the second floor of the hospital. James and Christy had to give an apologetics smile to the bewildered doctor and nurses on their way.
Getting to Tomisin's room, Elizabeth panted before talking." Tomisin I have news for you" said Elizabeth still panting
" Ohhhkay" said a mystified Tomisin.
" You won't understand" said Elizabeth panting, " You're going to be spending Christmas with us" said Elizabeth more relaxed
" Seriously?" questioned Tomisin with glee in her voice.
" Yes Tomisin, you don't have to go to the orphanage home." said James at the door frame with his wife.
"Welcome to the family" smiled Christy.
