MY PERFECT FAMILY
Proverbs 14:30a KJV
A sound heart is the life of the flesh
Under the beautiful ray of Saturday sunshine, the Irepodun community looked very beautiful with it's building well organized and structured. Father and daughter were playing with a ball in a park not too far from their home.
''Dad!, throw the ball,'' said Tomisin standing from afar. ''dad stop it, it's not funny,'' continued Tomisin, as she ran after her dad, frustrated that she hadn't gotten hold of the ball in a long while.
"You have to catch me to get the ball, Tomy." said Tomisin's dad, Anjola
" I'll have to play a prank on my dad to get the ball. Now what should I do " thought Tomisin giving up on being defeated. "I'll play sick" concluded Tomisin. "Dad, my stomach is hurting me." pretended Tomisin, falling on the floor to make her acting seem real.
Anjola quickly ran to his daughter's side with fear laced on his face.
He expressed his worry when he reached her side.
"Tomy, my baby, daddy is here" said Anjola with worry evident in his voice.
"Booyah!! " shouted Tomisin giving her dad the shock of a lifetime
"Oh my God, oh my God, you little... "; Anjola trailed off because he couldn't find the word to describe his sweet daughter.
"You got scared" laughed Tomisin as she quickly stood up and grab the ball from her father's hand.
"I'm an angel. I'm an angel and you can't catch me cos I'm sneaky." sang Tomisin running away afterwards.
"Wait till I catch you." said Anjola getting up from his kneeing position.
Tomisin ran as quickly as she could when she noticed her dad close behind her.
Anjola and Tomisin ran round the park laughing and smiling until it started drizzling.
"Tomisin let's go home, you've played enough already." said Anjola picking his daughter up.
"But dad," whined Tomisin stooping her foot on the ground and pouting as her dad carried her.
"No buts, we are going home" concluded Anjola sternly.
"Ok, just answer this question for me and if you win, I'll go home" requested Tomisin.
"No, we are going home" said Anjola as he carried his daughter.
"But daddy just one please"cried Tomisin as she tried to plead with her dad to change his mind.
"Okay, just one" replied Anjola. He placed his daughter down
So Tomisin went ahead to ask her question "what do you call an alligator in vest?" questioned Tomisin
"Uhmm!" Anjola pretended not to know the question so it would seem as if Tomisin won.
"You see, you don't know it, so let's play a little more." said Tomisin victoriously.
"INVESTIGATOR" replied Anjola, surprising Tomisin with his correct answer.
"Nooo!"shouted Tomisin frowning.
"Yes, I got it, a deal is a deal" said Anjola smirking as he quickly carried his daughter before she ran away.
Tomisin struggled in her father's arm, to run off and play but to no avail because he was much stronger than her.
"Okay, I give up, let's go home" said Tomisin in defeat.
"Don't worry bunny we'll play tomorrow"
"But tomorrow is sunday, it's refection day." said Tomisin
"Sunday is family day and we are going out" said Anjola, causing Tomisin to brighten up
"Really"
"Yes, really "
"So where are we going to dad "
"It's a surprise. Right now we need to get home on time before your mum gets all bossy" said Anjola
"Okay, what's bossy" questioned Tomisin
"When we get home you can check your dictionary" replied Anjola.
"Huh, why don't you just tell me. I won't tell mum, I promise" pleaded Tomisin
"Even if you tell her, I'm not still telling you the meaning. You know, it's always good to do research yourself"
"Okay dad, so how do I 'research' " asked Tomisin air quoting the word 'research'. "I'm sure it's not always about dictionaries because not everything is in the dictionary. " continued Tomisin.
"How do you know that?" asked Anjola curious about how his daughter knew that fact.
"Cos the other day, I searched for kaaro and it wasn't there."
"Really!, Yes not all words are in the English dictionary especially if it's not English." informed Anjola
"Ohh!" exclaimed Tomisin facepalming
"Ok, research is about finding facts concerning a particular topic of interest. It involves asking questions, reading books, checking the internet and others" Anjola moving on to explain what research was to his daughter
"Okay, but dad I have a question for you"
"Tell me, but if it's..." replied Anjola assuming it was her previous question but was cut short by her.
"No, it's not"confirmed Tomisin.
"Okay, go ahead" replied Anjola
"Why are some people sad and others happy"asked Tomisin.
