HISTORY -TANYA

This chappie is dedicated to the two most annoying ladies in my life, @damoanu and my sister. 😅😀.

Tanya Eshete

Tanya is an Ethiopian woman born to irresponsible parents. Her parents got divorced when she was fifteen and the implication of that was that she got separated from her nine years old sister, Tatiana.

Tanya and Tatiana were like inseparable twins, they so much loved each other, the two difference between them were age and eye color. Tatiana had an abnormal eye color, her eyes were grey while Tanya's were brown. Tatiana's eye were always filled with happiness until the day she got separated from her sister by the court. Tanya also felt the void of being separated from her sister but she was wise enough to purchase a customized two wearer's locket that had both her's and her sister's picture in it. The locket was intricately made in such a way that it could be broken into two halves having the picture of one sister in one half of the locket. And that was not all about the locket, it had an inscription on it saying ESHETE SISTERS. Tanya had that locket made with her whole life savings. The purpose of that locket was to remember them of each other. Tanya had the half with Tatiana's picture and Tatiana had the half with Tanya's pictures. She did this knowing full well that it would be impossible to get her dad to go to her mom's place since both were deciding to move to different countries. They were all initially living in Ethiopia.

Tatiana was given to her mother since she was much younger while Tanya ,who was older and also close to her father, was given to her father by the courts. Tatiana and her mom moved back to Europe where her mom ( and also father) was from while Tanya and her father moved to Nigeria.

Tanya's mom and dad came from a line of geneticists. And both decided to follow in their ancestor's footsteps. It was a whole lot of fun when they started their relationship. Their relationship was an experiment. They had goal to make children that will show uncommon human characteristics. They both decided what kind of children they wanted and created a family tree and were able to predict the kind of children they'll give birth to. They wanted two girls with difference eye color and being very good in their profession, they were able to achieve that.

Mr and Mrs Eshete had European blood line so this was one of the main factors in Tatiana's eye color. Their marriage was going smoothly as they planned and after 15 years of staying together and getting to know each other's irritation and also achieving the goal of the marriage, they splitted up.

Moving to Nigeria wasn't the best idea her father could have presented, like what was there in Nigeria. Why didn't they move to London or something. Why Nigeria? But God had a purpose for placing the desire to go to Nigeria in her father's heart. But Tanya didn't know, she spent days and nights arguing against this with her father. Fortunately God knew the Kind of man Samuel Eshete was, he was an hard-headed man who never liked to change his mind on anything he set it to.

Tanya gave in to her father's desire to go to Nigeria but she resolving in her heart to leave the country once she was eighteen. She really hated being forced to do things. But she didn't know that Heaven had orchestrated her stay there.

She attended one of the most expensive schools in Abuja before her dad decided to move to Kwara state where she attended the University of Ilorin and studied Accounting. Tanya really had an handful convincing her dad that science wasn't her path and that he couldn't force her to do what he wanted. She also reminded him about her multiple failures in science related courses.

" Dad, please would you just let me have my way for once. You and Mom separated me from my little sister and you made me come to this place called Nigeria. Papa tafadhali ( dad please )." said Tanya in Swahili while kneeling and crying at her father's feet.

" Binti ( daughter ), okay you can study whatever you want to study only on one condition " said her father

" What "

" You'll marry a Nigerian "

" Dad!!!!, you know what! I always wondered why you hate me so much " said Tanya with anger evident in her voice.

" Binti, don't you dare talk to me in that manner, okay " replied Samuel walking away afterwards.

Tanya agreed to her father's condition atleast she thought it wouldn't be that bad.

After a whole year studying Accounting, Tanya met God. It was quite funny, the way God caught her attention. She was going to class as usual when the rain started. The rain started as a drizzle but as she finished her lectures for the day, and started off to her hostel, it started raining heavily that she had to run to her hostel. She fell down as she ran and got injuries in the process then she fell into the mud. Could her day get any worst? Yes It did, when she arrived at the hostel she found out that her roomie, Oyinda, had forgotten to place the only key allocated to them at the portal.

" Christ of all days " she exclaimed not knowing who Christ was

' when Oyinda gets back, I'll treat her fuck up, she's always so forgetful.' thought Tanya that day.

"You can stay in our room" offered their next door neighbor after seeing poor Tanya's predicament.

" Thanks so much" appreciated Tanya as she walked into the room. On a norms, she wouldn't have accepted the offer. But what could she have done, wait until her forgetful roomie comes back. Ohh no no no. It's like waiting for an incoming faraway train to pass. That's foolishness when the person could have crossed since the train wasn't near enough to hit the person.

Tanya entered that room drained and wounded but came out new and joyful. Like she had predicted, Oyinda came back to the hostel pretty late but it was a divine coincidence for her to be received into the body of Christ.

What actually happened in room 102? As she entered that room, her lovely neighbor offered her tea which she gladly accepted, something she would never do, even in a million years. Tanya still really hated the fact that she was in Nigeria and so found it hard to bond well with her fellow Nigerian colleagues.

This lovely neighbor offered her a novel to read after helping her to get herself cleaned. Tanya rarely read novels but at this particular moment she was open to anything comfortable. She thought atleast the novel would distract her from her current situation and transport her to the world of fiction where the impossible always seems to happen.

"Thanks" she appreciated

"You welcome dear" replied Damisola

Hours passed and Tanya was being made to realize the truth. In that book only, she had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. She experienced something she had never felt before. Something her parents never regarded or spoke of. She felt the words from that book burn her heart like they were speaking to her. She felt as if God Himself was speaking. Each words touched her deeply.

She gave her life to Christ after reading that novel. And she didn't forget to note the words that captured her very heart. She wrote them down in her notepad on her phone.

The Tanya that left that room wasn't going to treat anyone's fuck up, the Tanya that left that room was ready to hug everyone and shout out loud that she's received Jesus.

After that day, Tanya went to church regularly with her next door neighbor, Damisola. And it wasn't too long before Oyinda joined them. Oyinda didn't miss the new changes in her grumpy roomie. She was so drawn to it.

' What's happened to Tayo ' she would always ask herself.

Then one day she decided to get to the bottom of it. She followed Tanya to church and that was were Oyinda gave her life to Christ. The Lord used Oyinda's curiosity to get her attention.

" How wonderful is the Lord, almighty " exclaimed Tanya, one afternoon after coming back from church alone, looking up into the skies and walking. She swirled excitedly then closed her eye but it was soon immediately opened when she hit someone's face.

" Ohh God, I'm so sorry, please forgive me" Sha said feeling really embarrassed.

"No problem, it's okay. I'm fine. Besides I'm glad it was the word of God that hit me, get it, hit me" said the seemingly funny boy.

Tanya laughed at his demeanor not his joke because to an average Nigerian, that's the driest joke ever.

" My name is Anjola " said the boy smiling.

" Tanya" said Tanya shortly.

And that was how their relationship kicked off. They were unconsciously Church mate until they both found out and then they became friends.
They went for night class together, visit the library together, encouraged each other, did online Bible study together when the other person felt Spiritual down. They laughed together and this turned into a strong bond that thrusted into marriage.

Tanya got the name Tayo from her one and only roomie, Oyinda.
At first she got mad at it but seeing that her roomie was as persistence as a goat she let her continue to call her that. So everyone started calling her Tayo except for Anjola.

Tanya had an hard time getting her father to accept Christ. But with the help of God and the encouragement from Anjola. Her father received Christ.

When Samuel Eshete gave his life to Christ, what he did to his children years ago kept hunting him. The Holy Spirit kept nudging him to tell the truth to his daughter. And he did.

He called her one afternoon to explain the reason behind his divorce.
Actually Samuel main focus after his divorce was his daughter, Tanya. He didn't marry again because he never once believed in marriage and he never got into any relationship with another woman.

" Tanya, I want to tell you something very important."

" Okay, papa, I'm listening." Replied Tanya.

" I love you very much and I'm very sorry for what your mother and I did to you and your sister."

" Dad, it's okay. I love you too and I also forgive y..." Said Tanya before being cut short.

" What I'm about to say will leave you devastated" said Samuel.

Tanya swallowed hard and said " ohhh kay"

" The reason behind me and your mum's divorce was an agreement. We got marriage based on an agreement. We were so blinded by our enthusiasm for science that we deviated from the course of nature and decided to make marriage into an experiment. We married each other because we both wanted to create two daughters with uncommon human characteristics" he said.

" And we both moved to different countries to force you guys to marry into that country so our family will be unique. I'm really sorry. I'm so sorry about that" he continued but ended in tears. And Tanya automatically cut the call

Tanya couldn't react to the information her father gave her. She couldn't say anything. She just stood like a statue. Words couldn't express the pain and hurt that came after the realisation of what her father had said. She dropped her phone and fell limply to the floor. Thank goodness Oyinda wasn't in the hostel to see her in this state, she was alone to grieve and was internally glad about that.

Tanya later learnt to forgive her dad through the help of the Holy Spirit and Anjola, but it didn't change the fact that her sister was in danger of being used by her lunatic mom for an experiment.

Tanya tried everything thing in her power to contact her sister after so many years of being away from each other but she couldn't. She lost all contacts with her sister after a year of their separation. Her dad tried his best to help her get in contact with her sister but to no avail. It was as if Tatiana was lost in the world. Tanya was about to lose all hopes of finding her sister until God showed her that there was nothing impossible for Him. He also remembered her of

Isaiah 40:31 ( KJV )
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Tanya was glad that after all the whole complications with her family, God was still ready to gain her attention at all costs. Isn't the Lord wonderful?

After her graduation, Tanya decided to make a business after her heart desire which was interior designing and fashion. She'd learned how to sow clothes during her National Youth service Corp ( NYSC ). Yeah, she went for NYSC despite being an immigrant. The main drive behind going for NYSC was because Anjola was going. And luckily for them, they were posted to the same place, Kaduna.

Tanya started her fashion and interior designing after NYSC. And by divine help, she got alot of customers.

She got married to Anjola three years after their NYSC and they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named, OLUWATOMISIN. Unfortunately for her, her father died during her pregnancy with Tomisin. But before he died he told Tanya something.

"Tanya, I feel God has something special in store for your first born"
