The next day I woke up smiling, the sun was shining once again. I looked over to my clock to read that it was 8:00am. To my surprise Ellie and Jackson were not awake yet, I got up and headed downstairs to make a drink.

While I sipped on my orange juice I heard footsteps walking into the kitchen. I turned my head to see Jackson rubbing his eyes.

"Morning mummy"

"Morning buddy, where's your sister?"

"She's still asleep. I'm hungry" I picked him up and placed I'm on top of the kitchen counter, he swung his legs back and forth while I got breakfast ready.
"Can you go and wake your sister up please. I've got an exciting day planned"

His eyes widened, he looked so excited. "Where are we going mummy?"

"Well, do you remember that nice guy who let you play football with him yesterday?"

He nodded

"Well, he's invited us to go back to the beach with him and play games at the pier" His eyes widened as he smiled. "Reallyyyy"

"Yes really, now go and get your sister so we can have some breakfast" I placed Jackson back on the ground so he could go and wake up Ellie. After a few moments I could hear footsteps running down the stairs.

"Are we going to the beach today?"

"Good morning to you too Ellie. And yes we are"

"Sorryyy mummy"

"Come on" I giggled "Let's have breakfast"

Few hours later.

As we arrived butterflies were going manic in my stomach. I got out the car and helped Ellie and Jackson get out also. I walked hand in hand with them as we crossed the road, and headed towards the pier. We sat on a nearby bench and waited, I looked at my watch to see it was dead on twelve o'clock.

I really hope this isn't a set up.

While I sat down Ellie and Jackson were looking through the bars and into the sea. I tapped my foot on the ground in nervousness. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms wrap around my neck. I jumped in shock, I turned around and sighed in relief when I locked eyes with him. He came.

"Hey beautiful. I don't think I properly introduced myself yesterday. I'm Tom."

I smiled "Y/n. And these are my beautiful kids this is Jackson and Ellie, their twins if you couldn't guess"

"Well hello Jackson and Ellie" He said while kneeling down to their height

"Hello Tom" they replied in sync.

"Well who's up for playing some games and winning some prizes?"

"Me, me, me" the kids replied excited.

"Let's go"

Time skip

"Yay look mummy, I won. Look Tom I won" Jackson shouted.

"Well done buddy" we both said in sync. We looked at one another and smiled, I began to instantly blush.

"Come on let mummy and Tom have a go" Tom said while holding onto the play gun.

"If I win I have to take you out for dinner, and if you win you have to agree to come out to dinner with me"

"Not a very fair option " I winked. As we both held up our guns Ellie and Jackson were stood between us both cheering us on. I began shooting at the ducks and hit every single one. I could hear Tom getting frustrated next to me, I giggled to myself.

"Yaaayyy mummy" Ellie and Jackson shouted

"Oooo Tom you lostttt" Ellie said poking him

"Looks like I won." I said with a smirk

He crossed his arms and stuck out his bottom lip. (Somewhat like the photo attached)

"Oh my god you remind me so much of Jackson when you do that face"

"Well as you won you now have to agree to come out on a date with me"

"Well isn't this a date" I winked

We continued to wonder around the pier, play more games and win prizes. Ellie and Jackson couldn't wipe their smiles off their faces, they were so happy, they really began to take a liking to Tom. As the day passed the sun started to set, the evening breeze flew through the air making me shiver slightly.

"I'm tired mummy" Ellie spoke softly while rubbing her eyes.

"Come here sweetheart" Tom picked her up and wrapped his arms around her, she rested her head on his chest. I looked down to see Jackson with a grin on his cheeky little face.

As we got back to the car I took Ellie from Tom's arms and put her in her car seat, Jackson gave him a hug before getting into his seat.

"I really enjoyed today" I smiled

"M-me too"

"Did you..maybe wanna come back to my place for a bit" I asked shyly.

"I erm.." he spoke itching the back of his neck.

My eyes widened. "You know what never mind, forget I asked, sorry—"

"No...Y/n..I'd love too" he replied smiling.

We then both got into the car and drove home. I looked in the rear view mirror to see Ellie and Jackson fast asleep. When we arrived Tom took Ellie while I took Jackson and headed inside, he followed me up to their bedroom and we placed them on their beds to sleep.

"Won't be long till they wake up again. So, would you like a drink?" I spoke while walking into the kitchen.

"Tea would be great" he said following me behind.

"S-so. Sorry to jump into this but where is their dad?"

I bit my lip and sighed while turning to face him. He began to look concerned yet showed regret.

"He left when he found out I was pregnant. I thought he would be happy, I thought we were going to get married, have kids and be together forever. But that all changed. A-a week after I told him I was pregnant he came back home really drunk and h-he" I started quivering my speech.

"H-he what?" Tom spoke walking closer to me

"H-he hit me I-"

Toms eyes widened, he gently took my hand and pulled me into his chest. I wrapped my arms around his body while his rested on my back rubbing gently.
"Shhh...it's ok y/n. He's not here to hurt you anymore. He's out of your life. You deserve way better in life, you have the two most beautiful kids and you've raised them amazingly."

I looked up and wiped my tears away from my cheeks. I looked into his gorgeous brown eyes, I felt my body leaning closer to his. I cupped his cheek and I placed my lips onto his.

"Thank you Tom. For everything, you came into my life and I've never been happier."
