Vogue's art director (Tom Holland)

Requested by Sara38540: Y/N works as an art director at Vogue, and she oversees the style for the whole magazine. She shows up at a photoshoot that Tom is doing, and he recognises her from them being childhood friends. After the shoot, they have a catch up, and talk about how they both achieved their dreams.

I stood in the lift, the metal box taking me up to the studio as I tried to distract myself with my eyes on my iPad. Though it wasn't working, my heart was still thumping so harshly in my chest that I felt sick at the shoot that I had today. After all, I'd be seeing him again for the first time since our childhood, and of course a lot had happened for both of us in that time. I didn't even know if he'd recognise me. But there was only one way to find out. I looked up as the lift pinged, and the doors slid open to reveal the studio. And him. He looked up, making my heart jump in my chest as his gorgeous chocolate eyes widened as they landed on me.

"Y/N? Oh my god, Y/N, is that you?" Tom scoffed, a smile curling onto his lips as he walked towards me.

"Hey, Tommy." I returned the smile. He laughed and shook his head, making my eyes widen as he threw his arms around my waist and picked me up. I laughed and squealed as I returned the hug, my childhood best friend and crush spinning me around before putting me back down.

"Oh, it's so good to see you, love. So good to see you." He chuckled into my ear, making me smile and bite my lip as his arms wrapped around me kept me into his body. Tom and I had grown up as neighbours, and so had naturally been best friends for the duration of our childhoods. We had been friends throughout both primary and secondary school, given that we were part of the same crowds. Tom had become the artsy one in the sense of his acting and dancing, whilst I had been the artsy one in the more literal sense of loving to draw, and design things. Needless to say that I loved Tom, as so much more than just a friend. And that was why it hurt so much when we started to drift apart after secondary school. With Tom landing his first major role, and me getting into one of the most prestigious art schools in the world, we naturally started to talk less, hang out less. And before I knew it, we hadn't seen each other in almost ten years. Well...until now.

"Darling, I love you, but what are you even doing here?" Tom smiled and shook his head as he pulled away from me, but kept his hands on my arms as his eyes flicked up and down my figure.

"You're not the only one who became successful, Tommy. I'm Vogue's art director." I nodded. His eyes widened.

"You're not-what?! Oh my god, that's insane!" He laughed and shook his head.

"Yeah, it is pretty cool, especially given that it means that I can be here today, making sure that you look your best." I teased.

"Oh, please, sweetheart, I always look my best." He returned, making me smirk and shake my head as we continued to talk.

Tom stood on the white paper backdrop, my hand cupping my chin as I stood behind the camera, and watched on to make sure that everything was going well. And of course, given that it was Tom, it was going perfectly. The first look that we had him dressed in was a simple enough black suit with a white shirt, but boy did he look fucking delicious. Tom had been instructed to just do what he wanted whilst he was being photographed, and so the boy was doing everything from casually fiddling with his cufflinks, to taking off the suit jacket. But then there was one that was making my knees weak, and that was when he would look directly at me. He'd give me small smiles and winks, my heart fluttering every time that he did it. And needless to say that I didn't want him to stop.

"Okay, all good. You happy, Y/N?" The photographer asked as she looked at me, Tom following her gaze so that he was also glancing at me. I sighed and studied his outfit, something still feeling a little off despite how amazing he looked.

"No, not yet. I want to try something slightly different." I nodded as I walked onto the paper. Tom's eyes stayed on me, his gorgeous chocolate orbs flicking over my face as I raised my fingers to the top button of his dress shirt. I unbuttoned it before starting to unbutton the one below it too.

"Wow, so eager to undress me already, sweetheart." Tom teased, making me smirk and shake my head as I flicked my eyes up to look at him.

"That's one way to put it, Tommy." I returned the flirting. He chuckled and bit his lip, my fingers stopping after the top five buttons of his shirt were undone so that a bit of his chest was visible. I stepped back and bit my lip to check if that was what I wanted. Tom raised his eyebrow and outstretched his arms.

"Yeah, that was what was missing, I'm happy with that." I nodded as I walked off of the paper again and behind the camera.

"I am too, trust me." the photographer nodded.

"Sorry, I'm all Y/N's." Tom smirked, making me return it and shake my head as the photographer continued to snap pictures of the god of a man.

"Alright, I think that we're happy." I nodded, the photographer and I looking at the photos that she'd gotten of Tom to double check that we were done.

"Yeah? Did you get my good side?" Tom teased.

"Every side is your good side." I returned the flirting, making the boy smirk and shake his head.

"Alright, well, I have another job to get to, but it was great to work with you both." The photographer smiled as she started to pack up stuff.

"And you, thanks a lot." I returned, Tom also nodding and giving her a small smile as she headed to the lift.

"You don't have anywhere to be, do you, love? Thought that it would be nice to have a little catch-up." Tom stated.

"Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing." I smiled, making him chuckle and bite his lip as I grabbed two bottles of water from the mini fridge that was in the studio. I handed one to Tom before we both sat down on the paper that Tom had been working on.

"I still can't believe that you're Vogue's art director. Like fucking hell, that's so awesome." Tom chuckled and shook his head as he took a sip of the water.

"Not as awesome as being a world-famous actor." I teased.

"Nah, sweetheart, it is, because it means that we both achieved our dreams. Like, come on, I'm an actor, and you're the art director of the biggest fashion magazine on the planet, how fucking cool is that?" He laughed. I returned it and bit my lip as I looked at Tom, my heart fluttering at the fact that he was genuinely saying that my job was just as impressive as his was. Which, I guessed that he was right, after all we did both have our dream careers. My only regret was that we hadn't stayed in contact with each other to see each other's journeys.

"Okay, it is pretty cool, I'll give you that. Especially since my job led me back to you." I admitted as I looked back up at him. He chuckled and nodded, the boy chewing on his lip as he looked into my eyes.

"It does have to be said that I wish that we'd stayed in contact. That it hadn't taken this to bring us back together, but I suppose that this is better than nothing. Especially given that my feelings for you never really left me." He spoke quietly. My eyes wavered at his words, my heart violently jumping in my chest at the implication.

"W-what, Tommy?" I chuckled nervously as my eyebrows furrowed.

"Come on, darling, you must have noticed the way that I looked at you. You must have noticed at least once." He smiled and shook his head. I returned the smile and bit my lip, my heart harshly fluttering at his words.

"I always thought that that was just me being hopeful." I admitted.

"No, love. It wasn't." He shook his head before starting to lean in. My eyes widened as he pressed our lips together, but I returned the kiss instantly as our eyes fluttered shut. My hand raised to gently cup his face, Tom's hand also cupping my waist as we kissed. He broke it after a moment and looked at me, my heart already filling up with love for the boy as his beautiful eyes flicked over my face.

"Given that I just skipped a step by kissing you before asking you out, I guess that I better take you out." He smiled, making me return it and bite my lip.

"I'd love to, Tommy. I'd absolutely love to." I nodded, Tom returning it as he leant in and kissed me again.
