The waitress (Tom Holland)
Requested by FriendlyFish420: The Holland family go out to dinner at a restaurant, and Y/N is their waitress. Tom is blown away when he sees her, and all he can think about during the meal is her.
I leant against one of the counters in the restaurant's kitchen, my eyes on my phone as I just chilled out and waited for my supervisor to give me another table to wait on. As if on cue, she walked into the kitchen with the iPad that assigned us to tables.
"Y/N, table three has just arrived, you're up." She nodded.
"Got you." I returned the nod as I slipped my phone back into my pocket before standing up and heading to the door. But as soon as I saw who was sitting at table three, I froze, and my eyes widened.
"Oh, shit." I hissed as I immediately ducked back into the kitchen, and out of the view of the table. I stared at my supervisor with wide eyes.
"I'm not serving that table." I scoffed and shook my head.
"Yes, you are, get yourself out there." She returned my scoff.
"Do you have any idea who that is?!" I hissed.
"Of course I do, why do you think I put you on that table? I'm doing you a favour, so shut the fuck up and get out there!" She squealed. I groaned and squeezed my eyes shut, my mind hating her in that moment as I peeked my head back around the doorway so that I could see into the restaurant. So that I could see the fucking Holland family sitting at the table that I had been given to wait on. Yup. The Holland family...as in Tom Holland. I had been a waitress at this place for the last five years, since I had graduated from university at age twenty, and it was a pretty mundane and boring place to work. Well, until now. My supervisor knew that Tom Holland was my dream guy, the stunning actor having been my celebrity crush for as long as I could remember. I appreciated her doing this for me, but I also hated her so much in this moment. I gulped and tried to compose myself, my heart pounding so harshly that I felt sick as I straightened myself up and headed out into the main room of the restaurant. I took a deep breath and tried not to show how terrified I was as I got my work assigned iPad out of the pocket of my apron, and approached the table.
"Hi there, I'm Y/N, how are we all doing? I'll be your server today, can I get you guys started on some drinks?" I smiled as I looked between the members of the family, and desperately tried to ignore the fact that I could see Tom looking at me with wide eyes out of my peripheral vision.
"Can we please get a jug of water for the table? Boys, what drinks do you want?" The woman that I knew to be Nikki Holland asked Tom's younger brothers.
"Can I get a coke, please?" Paddy asked.
"Sure." I nodded as I started to note down the orders on the iPad.
"We'll have three beers, please." Dom nodded as he gestured between himself, and the twins.
"Of course." I smiled, my eyes flicking between my iPad and the family. But I was also very much aware of the fact that Tom was still staring at me softly, the boy's gorgeous eyes never having left me as he seemingly admired me. That fact alone was making my heart explode in my chest.
"And I'll have a white wine, please. Tom, what do you want, love?" Nikki asked. I bit my lip and looked at Tom, the rest of the family also looking at him as I waited for his response. And yet...he said nothing. I raised my eyebrows at him, our eyes gazing into each other's as his stare didn't falter. I didn't know if I was just being hopeful, but I had to admit that I was feeling a connection between us. The way that he was looking at me so softly, a gentle and kind smile on his lips as he got lost in my eyes just as much as I got lost in his. I really felt this, and I had a feeling that he did too.
"Tom-."
"What?" He seemingly snapped back, making me chuckle and bite my lip as he looked around in surprise.
"What can I get you to drink?" I chuckled at him. His eyes widened slightly, and he gulped and nodded as his gaze flicked over my face.
"U-um...um, I-I'll have whatever my brothers are having." He smiled and nodded. I raised my eyebrow and tried not to smile at how flustered and cute he had become.
"So, a beer?" I checked.
"Y-yes, a beer works, thanks." He chuckled awkwardly and nodded. I smiled and returned the nod as I looked down and also took his order before looking back up at the family.
"Okay, I'll get these for you right away." I smiled.
"Thank you." Tom returned the smile, making mine widen as I turned around and started to walk away from the table.
"Idiot."
"Shut up." I heard Tom scoff, making me smirk and bite my lip to myself as I headed back into the kitchen.
Tom's P.O.V
Tom walked into the restaurant with the rest of his family, his hands shoved in his jacket pockets as they walked in. Tom had just returned home to Kingston for the first time in four months, and he had to admit that it felt good to be back. He was looking forward to just having a quiet night with his family, consisting of a nice meal, and then a movie back at his parents' house with Tessa. The six of them sat down at the table and started to relax as they grabbed the menus.
"Okay, so what are people thinking of having?" Dom asked.
"The steak is always nice here." Tom nodded.
"We do it better." Sam teased, making everyone chuckle and shake their heads.
"Hi there, I'm Y/N, how are we all doing? I'll be your server today, can I get you guys started on some drinks?" Tom looked up as the waitress appeared next to him, and started to talk, making him look up at her. Immediately, his eyes widened. A quiet breath left his lips as it was literally taken away by the simply stunning girl. Instantly, he was enthralled with her, everything about her being perfect as she stood there and gave him and his family the most gorgeous and bright smile. Tom was in love, he knew that much already.
"Can we please get a jug of water for the table? Boys, what drinks do you want?" Tom's mum asked, though the boy's brain barely registered the words as he just continued to admire the absolutely stunning girl.
"Can I get a coke, please?" Paddy asked.
"Sure." She nodded as she noted the order down on the iPad.
"We'll have three beers, please." Tom's dad ordered too as he gestured between himself, and the twins.
"Of course." Y/N smiled, Tom's eyes wavering as her smile just made him feel so fucking warm inside.
"And I'll have a white wine, please. Tom, what do you want, love?" His mum asked, though his brain once again failed to comprehend what was being said as Y/N bit her lip and looked at him. She raised her eyebrows at him, their eyes gazing into each other's as his stare didn't falter. Tom didn't know if he was just being hopeful, but he was feeling one hell of a connection between them. The way that Y/N was looking at him so softly, a gentle and glowing smile on her lips as she got lost in his eyes just as much as he got lost in hers. Tom just hoped that Y/N was feeling what he was.
"Tom-."
"What?" He snapped back, making Y/N chuckle and bite her cute little lip as he looked around in surprise.
"What can I get you to drink?" She chuckled at him. His eyes widened slightly, and he gulped and nodded as his gaze flicked over her face, his heart racing in embarrassment at the fact that everyone had caught him zoning out and admiring Y/N.
"U-um...um, I-I'll have whatever my brothers are having." He smiled and nodded. She raised her eyebrow again and clearly tried not to smile.
"So, a beer?" She checked.
"Y-yes, a beer works, thanks." He chuckled awkwardly and nodded. She smiled and returned the nod as she looked down and also took his order before looking back up at the family.
"Okay, I'll get these for you right away." She smiled.
"Thank you." Tom returned the smile, making hers widen as Y/N turned around and started to walk away from the table.
"Idiot." Harry mumbled.
"Shut up." Tom scoffed, the boy shaking his head and looking down in embarrassment, but also in thought about how fucking gorgeous she was, and how he already couldn't get her out of his head.
Y/N's P.O.V
"I swear to god, there's a connection, I'm fucking telling you." I scoffed, making my supervisor squeal and smirk at me as we talked about Tom in the kitchen.
"Now do you hate me less for making you wait on that table?" She teased.
"Definitely." I nodded, making her smirk widen as one of the chefs put a plate of food in front of us.
"Speaking of which, Y/N, table three." He nodded.
"You got it, Joe." I smiled, making him return it as I took the plate and went to head out. As I walked out, Tom held his beer to his lips, making me wish that I was that bottle as I got to the table.
"One steak-." Tom choked on his beer, making my eyes widen as he started to cough and splutter. I had obviously scared the poor boy and made him choke, though I had to admit that it was only becoming cuter how flustered he was getting.
"O-oh my god, I'm so sorry." I gulped and shook my head as I quickly put the plate down before starting to grab spare napkins from the pocket of my apron.
"No, no, please don't apologise, it was my fault, I'm such an idiot." He chuckled, making me give him a sympathetic smile as I handed him the napkins to start cleaning up the beer. But then, as he went to take them from me, his fingers brushed against mine. Both of our smiles dipped, my heart fluttering at the contact as we looked at each other. I gulped harshly as my eyes wavered, Tom's small smile feeling so warm and genuine as he continued to look gently at me.
"U-um, l-let me know if you guys need anything else." I nodded as I withdrew my hand, though still reluctantly.
"Will do, thank you so much, love." Nikki smiled, making me return it and glance once more at Tom as I turned, and began to walk away.
Tom's P.O.V
"Christ, that was amazing." Harry puffed out, making Sam nod in agreement as the family finished their meals.
"Yeah, it was." Tom nodded, though his mind was on Y/N, just like it had been for the entire meal. He hadn't stopped thinking about the beautiful girl the whole time, and so he just hoped that something would come out of it.
"I have the bill for you guys." Tom looked up and gave Y/N a warm smile as she leant over, and put the bill down on the table.
"Thank you so much." He smiled, making her return it and bite her lip as she walked away again. Tom picked it up and looked at it before his eyes widening slightly. His heart almost exploded in his chest at the sight of what looked to be a phone number scribbled down on the bottom of the bill, with 'Call me - Y/N :) x' above it. He smiled and bit his lip, his mind already knowing that he would take her up on the offer as his heart fluttered at the thought.
"How much is it, honey?" He looked up as his mum spoke.
"O-Oh, um, it's okay, I'll pay." He nodded and looked back down, his brain making a mental note to keep the bill, and call Y/N once he got home as he got his card out, his heart already excited to be able to call her and see where this would go. And for that, he couldn't wait.
