The fake meeting (Peter Parker)

Requested by addisullyy: Y/N and Peter are both Avengers and don't know that they like each other. One day, the others lock them in a meeting room, where they end up confessing their feelings for each other.

I casually wandered into the living room and kitchen of the Tower, my eyes on my phone as I headed in to get breakfast before my training began. I looked up, and immediately my eyes wavered. My heart fluttered violently in my chest at the sight of my teammate and crush, Peter, sitting topless at the breakfast bar. The boy was also looking at his phone as he ate a bowl of cereal, his gorgeous chocolate orbs flicking over his screen as his biceps flexed. I gulped harshly and tried to ignore the butterflies that were born in my stomach from the sight of the absolute god of a boy, the feeling being a familiar one by now.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer."

"Jesus!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening and my body jumping as Natasha quietly said the line into my ear. I looked at her in shock, my heart now palpating as a result of her having scared me as I held my hand to my chest. She smirked and flicked her eyes past me, making me follow her gaze and look back at Peter again. Shit, I thought, my eyes somehow widening even further as my outburst had made him aware of my presence.

"You...good, Y/N?" He chuckled somewhat nervously. I gulped and nodded, all of the heat in my body rushing to my cheeks as I tried to keep my shit together.

"Yeah, y-yeah, I'm fine, fuck you, Nat." I mumbled the last part quietly, making her smirk as I turned and went to the sofas in the living room. I gulped again and tried to pull myself together as I sat down. After all, I'd liked Peter since I had joined the team, and so such a line from Natasha had every chance of exposing me. I had become an Avenger two years ago, at the age of sixteen, when I had actually been a villain and Natasha and Clint had been sent to kill me. Much like their own story, they had decided after all to spare me, and so instead I had been recruited. Peter had already been part of the team by the time that I joined, and immediately I had fallen head over heels for the boy. Everything about him was perfect, from his stunning hazel curls and chocolate gaze, to his beyond incredible body, to his unbelievable kindness and intelligence. I had fallen for him instantly, which presented the only problem with this situation. And that was that I was too much of a pussy to come clean to Peter about how I really felt about him. Me never being ready to reveal my feelings meant that I always got so flustered and shy around the boy, especially when we had to train together. We'd often end up in intimate positions, like Peter pinning me down on the mats or against the wall, or me pinning him down by straddling him. Though, potentially the worst part about this all...was that the rest of the team had noticed my feelings for him. Ever since Natasha had started to notice my change in character every time that I was around the boy, six months ago now, the whole team had tried everything in their power to get us together. And none of it had worked. Maybe we just weren't destined to be together, but I had to admit that I was still hopeful that we were. I was still hopeful. Even if that was foolish.

Peter's P.O.V

Peter sat at the breakfast bar, the boy looking at his phone as he ate a bowl of cereal before training with Y/N.

"Jesus!" Peter's eyes widened, his heart jumping harshly in his chest as Y/N's shocked voice called out. His head shot up, the single word being the first indication that Peter's crush was in the room as she stood at the entrance to the room with Natasha. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, confusion filling his head as to what had caused the outburst as Y/N looked at her in shock and held one of her delicate hands to her chest. Natasha smirked and flicked her eyes past Y/N and at Peter, only adding to the boy's confusion as Y/N followed her gaze and looked at him.

"You...good, Y/N?" He chuckled somewhat nervously, his heart pounding purely at the gorgeous and cute sight of her being so flustered as they stared at each other. She gulped and nodded.

"Yeah, y-yeah, I'm fine." She spoke before turning to Nat and mumbling something else. Natasha smirked at whatever had been said, making Peter's eyebrows furrow as to what Y/N could have said to elicit that reaction as Y/N turned and went to the sofas in the living room. Peter gulped and tried not to question it too much, after all, he'd liked Y/N since she had joined the team, and so him continuing to longingly stare at her had every chance of exposing him. Peter had become an Avenger only a year before Y/N had, but his experience had truly started when she had joined the team. Originally she had been a villain who Natasha and Clint had been sent to kill, despite Pete's protests. Much to Peter's happiness, in the end, they had spared Y/N and had instead recruited her. Immediately he had fallen head over heels for the girl, everything about her being so beautiful, kind and intelligent. Peter had fallen for her instantly, which presented the only problem with this situation. And that was that Peter was way too afraid to tell Y/N how he really felt about her. He was convinced that she was way out of his league, and so he didn't want to risk ruining their friendship and losing her altogether for the very faint hope that she'd feel the same way. But this meant that he always got incredibly flustered and shy around the beautiful girl, especially when they trained together. The pair would often end up in intimate positions, like Peter pinning Y/N down on the mats or against the wall, or her perfect little body pinning him down by straddling him. Though, potentially the worst part about this all...was that the rest of the team had noticed his feelings for Y/N. Ever since Tony had started to notice his change in character every time that he was around her, six months ago now, the whole team had tried everything in their power to get the two of them together. And none of it had worked. Peter's eyes wavered, his heart hurting slightly at the entire thought process that he'd just been through as he continued to longingly gaze at Y/N.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer."

"Fuck me." Peter mumbled in shock as he jumped harshly, Tony smirking at the boy as Peter puffed out and looked at him.

"I'm good, but you should ask Y/N instead." He nodded before walking away. Peter rolled his eyes and sighed before looking back at Y/N. Maybe they just weren't destined to be together, but he had to admit that he was still hopeful that they were. He was still hopeful. Even if that was foolish.

Y/N's P.O.V

I sat on my bed, my eyes on my homework before heading to training.

"Y/N, Mr Stark has called an emergency meeting in meeting room one." FRIDAY's voice suddenly sounded over the intercom. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I looked up at the speaker.

"Wait, what? Why, what's wrong, FRIDAY?" I gulped.

"Mr Stark needs you in meeting room one now." She repeated. I sighed and stood from the bed, slight anxiety creeping into my stomach at why we were having an emergency meeting as I headed out of my room and made my way to the meeting rooms that were part of the Tower. Within seconds, I was at the door, my hand reaching for the handle and pushing it open so that I could walk in. Peter looked up at me from sitting at the long glass table, making my eyebrows furrow and my heart flutter as he was the only one in the room.

"Hey, Pete. Were you told that there was an emergency meeting too?" I asked.

"Yeah, so why are we the only ones here?" He scoffed.

"We're sorry!" My eyes widened, a yelp leaving my lips as a pair of hands pushed me from behind into the room.

"What the fuck-." I turned just in time to see Steve shutting the door behind me, making my eyes widen as the sound of it locking came seconds later.

"What the hell?" Peter scoffed as I rushed to the door, and Peter stood up to join me as I started to hammer my fist against the opaque glass.

"Guys, what's going on?!" I yelled, both Peter and I hammering on the door.

"You both know why you're in there, we're not letting you out until you talk this out!" Tony's voice sounded from behind the door. My eyes widened at his words and my heart harshly jumped in my chest, though I covered up the realisation of what was happening by furrowing my eyebrows and looking at Peter in fake confusion. The boy looked at me with equal uncertainty before shaking his head.

"Fuck this, I'm getting us out of here." Peter mumbled before taking a step back. He rushed forward again and rammed his shoulder against the door, the glass slightly shifting and Peter wincing in pain as he tried to break the door open.

"Kid, you're going to want to stop, we have an Iron-Man, a Cap, and a HULK, there's no way you two are getting out without us letting you out." Tony taunted, making Peter groan as he stopped ramming his shoulder against the door.

"He's right, Pete, don't hurt yourself over this." I mumbled as I sunk down the glass to sit on the floor. Peter sighed as he sat down next to me too, my heart fluttering slightly as he sat down so that our arms were pressed together. The boy looked at me.

"Do you have any idea what they're talking about? I mean, what do we need to talk about, we're not fighting or anything." He scoffed and shook his head. My eyes wavered and I gulped harshly, the anxiety solidly setting in as I recognised this as the time that I had to speak up. Now was the time to tell Peter how I really felt about him. I bit my lip and looked timidly at him, Peter raising his eyebrows in anticipation of what I was going to say.

"I, um, I...fuck, I think that they're talking about the fact that I like you, Pete. Like, not as a friend, I like you as more than that. In fact, I love you. But I've always been too scared to tell you, because I know that you don't feel the same, a-and that's okay, but I didn't want to lose you as a friend, so I didn't tell you. B-but, Nat started to notice about half a year ago, and so it's become harder and harder to hide this, but...now the secret's out. And like I said, i-it's completely okay that you don't feel the same, I just don't want to lose you as a friend." I mumbled, my heart racing so harshly that I felt sick as I looked back down at my hands. I gulped dryly as the most deafening silence that I'd ever experienced filled the space, tears pricking my eyes as my head immediately read that as me having fucked up our entire relationship.

"W-well, um...thing is that I do like you back." Peter responded quietly. My eyes widened, my mouth falling open in shock as I looked back at him.

"...What?" I gulped. He chuckled nervously and shrugged, the boy also looking at me timidly as we gazed at each other.

"Yeah. I think that the rest of the team realised that we like each other before we did, I think that's what we needed to talk about. Because I like you too, Y/N. Of course I do, you're fucking amazing in every sense of the word. From the second that Nat and Clint recruited you, I couldn't take my eyes off of you. I can't lie, I'm just happy that you feel the same about me." He smiled cheekily. I smirked and shook my head, making him return it as he gently nudged my arm, and our gazes landed on each other again.

"So, since we both know now that we do like each other, can I take you out sometime? On an actual date that doesn't include us training and pinning each other down." He teased, making me laugh and shake my head at his flirtatious joking.

"Yeah, Pete. I'd love that." I smiled and nodded.

"Awesome." He chuckled, making my smile widen as I bit my lip and rested my head on his shoulder. He leant down and kissed my head, the action making my heart explode in my chest as we continued to sit there, and wait to be let out after what had ended up being the best emergency meeting of our lives.
