Someone else *part 2* (Tom Holland)

Requested by bohemian1220: Tom tells Y/N about his ex claiming to be pregnant with his baby, but also says that he still wants a relationship with Y/N because he's in love with her. Y/N is sad and angry, and feels like once the baby comes, he'll fall back in love with his ex and will leave her again, and she doesn't want her heart broken for a second time.

Tom's P.O.V

Tom stared at Mia with wide eyes, his mouth hanging open as his brain desperately tried to comprehend what she'd just said to him. Surely he'd misheard her, or surely she was wrong. Surely, surely...what she had said couldn't be right.

"I'm sorry, Mia...but do you really expect me to believe that this pregnancy is because of me? Not only were you fucking another guy for half of our relationship, but we broke up four months ago. How the fuck are you coming to the conclusion that it's mine, and not the guy's who you're presumably still having sex with?" He spat.

"I just know, okay? It's too much to explain on your doorstep when you supposedly have company over. Can we meet tomorrow? I can explain over a coffee or something, I promise that this is real, and that you want to listen." She gulped. Tom sighed and looked at her, pure fear in his heart at the idea that she was telling the truth. That she was in fact pregnant...with his baby. Of course Tom wanted kids one day, but with Y/N, the love of his life, not with his cheating ex-girlfriend who had rocked back into his life after four months. But either way, he had to know for sure. He had to know if in five months, he would in fact be a father.

"Fine. Fuck, fine. I'll meet you tomorrow, and then you can explain why you think that this is my kid, over the guy that you're still with." He nodded. She rolled her eyes before turning and heading away from Tom's house, making him scoff and shake his head as he shut the door. But as soon as she was out of sight, the situation hit him like a tonne of bricks. He choked, his eyes wavering and his lips falling open as he held his hands to his curls. He gulped harshly, his heart racing violently in his chest as he thought about the implications of this, if Mia was telling the truth. Not only the implications for him and Mia...but also for him and Y/N. After all, he was back to being completely in love with his former ex-girlfriend, and really wanted to give their relationship another chance. But he would hardly be surprised if his current ex-girlfriend rocking up and claiming to be carrying his child jeopardised that. He gulped again and looked at the doorway to the living room, the boy trying desperately to figure out how he was going to tell Y/N before he took a deep breath and headed back in there.

~Two days later~

Y/N's P.O.V

Tom and I sat on his sofa, our bodies facing each other as I stared at him with wide and tear-filled eyes. He bit his lip and nodded, the boy also crying as his fingers soothingly rubbed my thigh. Though, as much as I loved him, he wasn't doing a good job at calming me down. But that wasn't his fault.

"Surely, she can't be...she can't actually be claiming that it's your baby." I choked and shook my head. Tom gulped and nodded as he looked at me.

"That's what I said when she showed up, but like I've told you, I met up with her yesterday to get the full story. She's adamant that it's mine. She said that because she was cheating and didn't want me to find out by her getting pregnant by this guy, they always used double protection and were very careful, whereas we weren't as cautious. They always used a condom and she had always made sure to take her birth control when regularly sleeping with him, but we didn't always use protection and she didn't always take her birth control when just with me. And, sweetheart, it makes sense, the timing adds up. We had sex for the last time only a couple of days before I found out that she was cheating, and she's three and a half months pregnant. The timings add up too well for it not to be mine." He sighed and returned the head shake as he looked down. I choked again and bit my lip, my heart breaking into a million pieces at this bombshell. Just when things had been perfect again, just when Tom and I had been back on the cusp of giving our relationship another go...this had had to happen.

"S-so, um...what does this mean for us, then? I don't want to sound selfish, but..." I gulped. Tom raised his head to look at me again.

"Look, darling, I know that this is a shock, one that will take us a bit to get over, understandably. But at the end of the day, I still want to make things work again with you. I'm in love with you, Y/N, and I want to be with you." He confessed, his gorgeous chocolate eyes looking into mine as he spoke. I sighed and bit my lip. As much as I wanted to believe Tom, as much as I wanted to let his words take me straight to cloud nine, something was stopping me. That something being the currently crippling fear that as soon as this baby came along, Tom would fall back in love with Mia and go back to her for the sake of their child. I didn't know if that thinking was fair on Tom, after all she had cheated, and he had more than enough self respect to not go back to someone who had betrayed him like that. But when a child was involved, his child...I wasn't sure how much that would impact his judgement. I loved him so much, I too had fallen back in love with him, but at the same time, I wasn't ready for my heart to be broken again. Whilst our break-up had been a civil and mutual one, it had still torn me apart, and so I didn't even want to imagine what a break-up that consisted of Tom leaving me for his cheating ex would do to me. So right now, I had to consider if being with him was worth the risk. If I was in love with him enough to risk him going back to her once their baby was here. And right now, I just didn't know.

"Okay, but what if that changes when this child gets here? W-what if you see this baby, a-and you fall in love with them, and they look just like her, a-and that reminds you of how much you love and miss her, and so you end things with me and go back to her, and live happily ever after with her and your adorable baby-."

"Hey, hey, woah, I think that someone is spiralling there a little bit." He chuckled softly, making me sigh as he cupped my face with his hands. He gave me a small smile, his gaze flicking in between my eyes and my lips as he held me.

"Even if this is my baby, even if Mia decides to keep it, that will not happen. I promise you that, my love. Yes, I will love this baby if they're mine, yes, I will be in their lives, yes, I will be their dad, but I will not be Mia's partner past parenting our kid. She hurt me more than I ever thought possible. She betrayed me for half a year, all whilst telling me that she loved me, and that I was the one for her. And to be honest, the first thought that I had when I found out what she'd done was that you'd never have done that to me. That you never would have treated me like that. And that was when I knew for certain that you were the love of my life, not her. So, I completely get your worry, sweetheart, but that won't happen. I will be in the child's life, but won't be in Mia's. I promise you that even when the baby is here, I will not leave you for Mia. I promise." He nodded. I gulped and returned it, tears still leaving my eyes as he gently pressed our foreheads together. I tried to let his words sink in, worry still slightly there, but also dimmed a bit. After all, I trusted Tom, I trusted him to the ends of the earth and back. So, if he said that he would be a dad to this child without being involved with Mia, I trusted him. I had to trust him. Even if that was for my own sake.

"Okay, Tommy. Okay. I trust you, and I believe you. And so, let me make you a promise of my own. If this does turn out to be your child, if this is your kid and you want to be there for them, just know that I will support you one-thousand-percent. I will support you and will never leave your side, and will love them just as much as you will. I promise you that." I whispered and nodded. He returned it and bit his lip, tears pricking his gorgeous chocolate eyes as he looked at me.

"Thank you, sweetheart. Thank you." He choked before leaning in and gently kissing me.

~Four years later~

I stood in mine and Tom's kitchen, my six-month-pregnant bump now large enough to gently touch the side of the marble island as I stood there and cut up food for our tea. I looked up as I heard the front door open, and then close again a moment later.

"Go find Y/N, go on!" I heard Tom's voice coo, making me smile as it was followed by the quick patter of small feet. A smile spread onto my lips as Leah appeared at the kitchen door.

"Leah! Hello, my love!" I gasped playfully as I bent down and she ran into my arms.

"Y/N! I've missed you and baby Heather so much!" She squealed. I gasped again playfully and pulled away, but only enough to look up at Tom as I kept Leah in my arms.

"Did daddy tell you your little sister's name? He promised to wait until he brought you back so that we could tell you together." I teasingly scolded, making Tom chuckle and playfully roll his eyes as he leant against the counter behind Leah.

"I tried, but she kept begging to know in the car, and you know that I can't say 'no' to her when she does her puppy-dog eyes." He smiled.

"Oh, the pitfalls of your child having your eyes." I chuckled, making him smirk and nod as Leah put her small hand against my bump like she always did. I smiled and bit my lip, my eyes intently watching the little girl's face as she concentrated on what she was doing.

"Can you feel her moving around in there, sweetie? Because I can." I chuckled. She smiled and nodded, making me return it as I kissed her head and stood back up. When Leah had been born four years ago, it had been obvious immediately that Mia hadn't been lying about who her father was. As soon as the beautiful little girl was born, she had Tom's eyes, and so he had stepped up to be her dad and to love her as much as he could. But at the same time, he had also managed to keep his promise to me. He hadn't left me after Leah was born, him and Mia only briefly seeing each other when Tom would drop her off, or Mia would bring her to Tom's, and to say that few kind words were exchanged between them was an understatement. If I was honest, a drop-off with no insults or swearing was a good day, but that didn't matter. Tom and Mia had started to raise Leah from separate households, and I had helped Tom when Leah was with us. As for Tom and I, our relationship had only progressed since we had gotten back together. Within six months of being back together, I had moved in with him, and he had placed the most beautiful engagement ring on my finger only five months later. To most, we had moved quite quickly, but for us, it had been perfect. After all, it had been clear to us since our first time dating that we were each other's ones, and so it only made sense to get married and start our lives together as soon as possible. Then, life had only gotten more perfect four months ago, when I had found out that I was pregnant with mine and Tom's first child together. As usual, Mia had had nothing nice to say about it, but Leah had been over the moon from the second that she found out that she'd be a half-sister to either a little boy or girl. Since then, we'd found out that Tom and I were having a daughter, and we couldn't be more excited.

"What's for dinner, my love?" Tom asked as he gently picked Leah up and sat down at the kitchen table before sitting her down on his lap.

"I thought that I'd make Leah's favourite of pizza, but I've chopped up some veggies to go on top, so that it's slightly less unhealthy." I chuckled, making Tom smile and nod.

"Ew, veggies ruins it!" Leah squealed playfully.

"No, it doesn't, darling! If you eat your veggies, you'll grow up to be big and strong, and you need to be big and strong to play with your little sister!" Tom exclaimed just as excitedly. Leah gasped, making us both smirk and laugh at her reaction.

"Then I want ALL of the veggies!" She yelled.

"Said no kid ever." Tom chuckled, making me smirk and shake my head as I continued to cut the food up, and Tom gently kissed his daughter's hair.

I puffed out as I walked through mine and Tom's house and turned off the lights on my way to bed. I rested my hands against my bump, our baby taking more of my energy by the day as I opened our bedroom door. As soon as I did, my heart melted in my chest. I couldn't help but let tears prick my eyes at the sight of Tom lying in bed, Leah cuddled into his side and under his arm with her eyes closed, her thumb in her mouth and her head rested against her dad's chest as he quietly read her the end of whatever book she had picked for tonight. Tom looked up as I walked in, a small smile curling onto his lips at the sight of me.

"Hey, sweetheart." He whispered, being careful not to move too much and therefore wake Leah up as he closed the book and rested it on the bed.

"She must have been tired, normally she makes you read three or four before she's out." I teased. Tom chuckled and nodded as he looked down at his daughter, me also looking at the precious little girl as I got undressed and instead put on my pyjamas. I gently climbed into bed next to Tom, both of us being careful not to wake her up as he moved her so that she was in between our bodies. She stayed curled into my husband, though I raised my hand and gently raked my fingers through her hair. Tom bit his lip and looked at me.

"You know, love, I'll never be able to thank you enough for staying by me. I wouldn't have blamed you if you'd heard the sentence 'my ex-girlfriend is pregnant with my baby' and had run for the hills. You made my life better by staying. Of course you did, I'm now married to the love of my life, am expecting my first child with her, and have a beautiful daughter and no contact with her toxic mum, life is perfect." He smiled, making me chuckle quietly and return the glance.

"It was never really an option to leave, Tommy, I loved you too much to do that. But you proved yourself. Leah got here, and not once did I think that I was going to lose you to Mia. You proved that you could be the best dad to her, at the same time as loving me, and building a life with me. And I love you for it. Because even though the situation was far from perfect, I now can't imagine Leah not in our lives either. I love her just as much as I love you." I reassured.

"I know, darling. And that's always meant the world to me." He nodded before leaning over Leah and gently kissing me. I returned it, my eyes fluttering shut and my hand holding his face as I enjoyed the intimate moment. He broke the kiss and pecked my lips once more, making me smile as we both lay down properly. Our bodies faced Leah's on either side of her, Tom's arm curling over her and me as our eyes fluttered shut.

"I love you, Leah, and Heather so much, sweetheart." Tom mumbled quietly.

"I love you, Leah, and Heather so much too, Tommy. Goodnight." I whispered before letting myself ease into sleep. Next to the love of my life, his beautiful daughter, and our daughter safely inside of me. And that was exactly the way that I loved it.
