Revealed secret (Peter Parker)
Requested by Hello_itzmee: The Avengers don't know that Peter has a girlfriend, and one day, he gets called by her when she's really upset. Peter gets someone to drive him to go and get her and to bring her back to the Tower with him.
Peter and I lay on his bed, my boyfriend's body hovering over mine as our lips gently moulded together. He smirked against my lips as we softly made out, making me giggle and pull him closer whilst also teasingly pulling on the curls at the nape of his neck.
"Pete, you here, kid?" Our eyes shot open as Tony's voice called out.
"Shit, babe, hide." Peter gulped as he scrambled off of me and quickly sat up. I returned the gulp and squeezed my eyes shut, my body disappearing within seconds as a result. I opened my eyes again, my gaze flicking around Peter's room as I lay as still as possible on his bed. After all, I was still in Peter's room, I was just now invisible, but even the slightest movement would either risk breaking my concentration, or disturbing the atmosphere around me enough to accidentally reveal myself. Moments after I disappeared, Peter's bedroom door opened, and Tony walked in.
"We're going out for pizza, you want to join, kiddo?" Tony asked.
"U-um, n-no, I'm good, thanks, Mr Stark." Peter chuckled nervously, my boyfriend also cautious of moving and disturbing me. His mentor's eyebrows furrowed at him.
"You okay, Pete? You look slightly...flustered." He chuckled and shrugged. Peter's eyes widened, a gulp also being felt in my throat as both of us tried to keep cool, and not accidentally reveal my unknown presence.
"I-I'm fine, just tired. Could you maybe get me a pizza? I have too much studying to do." He chuckled again. Tony continued to look at Peter with a slightly suspicious gaze, making me gulp harshly as my heart almost beat out of my chest.
"Yeah, sure, kid. Don't overwork yourself, okay?" Tony nodded as he started to move back out of Peter's room.
"Got you, Mr Stark." Peter smiled, making Tony nod again as he shut the door behind him. As soon as he left, I closed my eyes and then reopened them, both Peter and I breathing huge sighs of relief as my body became visible again. I puffed out and looked at him.
"That was too close." I shook my head.
"It always is, baby." Peter sighed, making me return it and bite my lip as he leant in and gently kissed my head. Peter and I had been dating for six months now, and our relationship was going really well. We had met at school, and had both gotten into CalTech with MJ and Ned, so everything was going perfectly for us. Well...apart from the fact that the team who were virtually his family, the Avengers...didn't know about me. And I had to admit that there was only one reason for this. I was another...gifted...person, with my power being invisibility. All I needed to do to turn completely invisible was close my eyes and concentrate when I reopened them, and of course it came in handy. So handy that the Avengers had been trying to recruit me since before I had started dating Peter. They were a great team and all, but I worked alone, and I liked it that way. From the moment that I had started dating Peter, my only fear with him was that the team would use him to try once again to recruit me. And so, we had decided to keep our relationship a secret from them, to protect our relationship but also my decision to continue working alone. It was getting harder, though, to deny everything, especially given that things between Peter and I were getting more serious. I had started to sleep over, we'd started having sex, and so it was getting harder to keep everything silent, but we were managing. I just had to hope that that would continue. But right now, I could only hope.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter lay casually on his bed, his back resting against his headboard as he read one of his comic books. He looked down as his phone started to buzz against his sheets, his heart fluttering like it always did at the sight of Y/N's face and name appearing on his screen. He casually picked up the phone and pressed the green button before putting it to his ear.
"Hey, baby-."
"Peter, I need you." His eyes widened, his heart dropping to his feet as he could immediately hear the tears in her voice.
"Babe, what's happened, what's wrong?!" He gulped as he instantly sat up.
"I-I had a massive fight with my parents, I just n-need to get away from here, please, I'm begging you to come and get me." She sobbed down the phone.
"Angel, oh my god, I'm so sorry. But yeah, okay, I'm on my way, I'll be there as soon as possible." He nodded, his heart in pain purely because of how upset the love of his life sounded as he immediately grabbed his shoes and hurriedly yanked them on.
"Hurry, Peter, please." She cried down the phone.
"I will, I'll be there soon, baby, I promise." Peter nodded and hung up before shooting up from his bed and rushing out of his room.
"I need a ride, can someone please give me a ride, please." He gulped, making the rest of the team look up at him in surprise as he rushed into the living room of the Tower.
"Woah, what's wrong, Pete?" Steve scoffed.
"I just, I need a ride, please, it's urgent." Peter begged as he silently hoped that they wouldn't force him to say why he so desperately needed a car.
"What's so urgent, kid, talk to us-."
"Fuck's sake-my girlfriend has just called me absolutely distraught, I need to go and get her." Peter admitted with a nod. Everyone's eyes widened.
"Hold up, girlfriend?!" Tony exclaimed, making everyone scoff and nod in shared shock as they all looked at Peter.
"Yeah, since when are you dating someone?" Natasha scoffed again and shook her head.
"Oh my god, guys, I'll explain later, but now, can someone PLEASE just give me a ride!" Peter exclaimed.
"Right, yeah, sorry, I'll take you, let's go." Happy nodded as he stood from the sofa.
"Thank you, let's go." Peter puffed out, his heart racing not only in concern for Y/N, but also for the fact that he had just exposed her to the people who she didn't want to know she existed. But that was a future him problem. Even if that was still only the near future.
Y/N's P.O.V
I sat on the curb in front of my house, tears silently running down my face as I tightly hugged my bag in my arms and waited for Peter to arrive. I couldn't even remember how the fight with my parents had started, but it had ended half an hour ago with all of us screaming at each other, and me deciding to escape to Peter's. I had called him about ten minutes ago, and so I knew that it was only a matter of time before he came to my rescue.
"Y/N!" As if on cue, the voice of my angel called out. My head shot up, my eyes wavering as Peter got out of the black SUV that had stopped just down the road.
"Peter." I choked as I stood up, and Peter started to run to me. Within seconds, his arms were wrapped around me, me returning the hug with equal tightness as I squeezed my eyes shut and started to relentlessly sob into his shoulder.
"I'm here, baby, you're okay, you're safe, I have you." He promised soothingly, his hands running through my hair in an attempt to reassure me as he just held me.
"Please just take me back to the Tower, I don't want to be here anymore, please." I sobbed and shook my head.
"Okay, angel, alright, let's go, come on, my love." He nodded, making me choke and return it as he wrapped his arm around me and started to gently walk me to the car. I looked up timidly as we got to the car, and I could tell by the way that Happy's eyes had widened that he knew who I was. The cat was out of the bag. Peter opened the back car door and gently guided me in, Happy staring at us as my boyfriend climbed in behind me.
"Peter, what the hell?! That's the invisible girl!" Happy exclaimed.
"Happy, we're not doing this right now." Peter scoffed and shook his head as he wrapped his arm around my waist and I cuddled into his chest as I continued to cry into his shirt.
"You're dating the invisible girl!"
"Happy, please!" Peter insisted. Happy sighed and gave me one more glance, making me gulp as he turned back to face out of the car. The engine started again, Peter gently pressing his lips to my head as the car started to move, and my body gave in to the comfort of my boyfriend's hold.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter lay on his bed, Y/N asleep in his arms as one of his hands rubbed soothing patterns on her waist whilst the other combed through her hair. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, even with her face being red due to the tears, she was still the most beautiful girl in the world. He leant down and pressed his lips to her head, the boy only pulling away due to the sound of his door opening. He looked up, his eyes wavering as Tony stood there. His mentor sighed and crossed his arms over his chest as he casually leant against the doorway.
"How long?" He asked quietly. Peter gulped harshly, his heart already knowing that Tony wouldn't like the answer.
"Six months." Peter replied equally as quietly in fear of waking Y/N up. Tony nodded and clenched his jaw.
"Why didn't you tell us that you were dating the invisible girl? You know that we've been wanting to recruit her for years now." He scoffed.
"That's exactly why I didn't, she doesn't want to be recruited, and we both knew that me dating her would be used to make her join-."
"She would prove an irreplaceable asset, Pete, one that we need-."
"I don't care, I love her and she doesn't want to be a part of this, so I'll protect her from that." Peter nodded, his eyes full of angry fire as he stared at his mentor. Tony's face softened at his words, his eyes flicking to the girl still asleep in Peter's arms.
"You really mean that? You love her, kid?" Tony asked softly. Peter sighed and nodded as he looked back down at her gorgeous, sleeping face. The one that he'd never be able to fault, even if he tried.
"Yeah, Mr Stark. I do. And I will always respect what she wants in life. Of course she loves that I'm part of the team, but it's not one that she wants to be a part of herself. And of course, I respect that. I just hope that you guys can too." He spoke as he looked back at his mentor. Tony sighed and gave him a small smile.
"She may not want to join the team, which is fine, but you do have to introduce her to us, you're not getting off that easily. Bring her out for breakfast tomorrow morning, I'll make pancakes." Tony smiled. Peter chuckled and shook his head, a massive wave of relief washing over him at the words that confirmed that Tony was okay after all with both Y/N's decision not to join the team, and also Peter's decision to have kept his relationship a secret.
"That, I can settle with." He nodded. Tony smiled and winked before closing the door and disappearing again, making Peter chuckle as he looked back down at his still sleeping girlfriend.
"We did it, angel. You did it. They love you. But not as much as I do" He smiled, his heart so full of love for her as he leant down, and placed one more gentle kiss on her head before laying his own head down, and closing his eyes too.
