My girl (Peter Parker)
Requested by starrr238: Y/N and Peter have a baby girl, and not long after she's born, Y/N falls asleep and Peter looks after the baby. When Y/N wakes up, 'My Girl' by the Temptations is playing, and Peter is holding their baby whilst singing along.
"Come on, baby girl, don't cry when daddy comes home, mommy has you, you're okay." I cooed, my eyes on my gorgeous two-week old baby as she cried and whimpered. Scarlett looked up at me with eyes that were identical to her father's, the orbs glassy with tears as she cried.
"Baby? I'm home!" As if on cue, I heard the front door open, and Peter's voice called out. Within seconds, he appeared at the door, my husband's lips curling into his ever beautiful smile as his eyes landed on his daughter.
"Hello, my little princess!" He gasped as he reached out and gently picked her up from my arms before putting her against his shoulder.
"Hey, angel. You okay?" Peter smiled at me, making me return it as he leant in and gently kissed me.
"Yeah, it's been a quiet day. What about you? How was the team?" I asked.
"It was fine, did an easy mission and that was about it. Just waited for the whole day to come back to my beautiful wife and amazing daughter." He smiled, making me playfully roll my eyes and smirk as he leant in and kissed her head. Peter and I had been together for ten years, since he had joined my dad's team aged fifteen. We had been married for the last three years, and two weeks ago, we had welcomed our first baby together. Scarlett was already the love of our lives, the beautiful baby daughter already having Peter's eyes and my nose from the second that she was born. Both of us were completely in love with her, but I could already tell that she was a daddy's girl through and through. I was of course still on maternity leave, and if it were up to Peter, he would also still be on paternity leave, but the team had needed him back for missions, and so reluctantly, my husband was now back at work. But every single day that he'd been back since Scarlett had been born, she would go straight into his arms, and he wouldn't let her go. He loved her too much to let her go, and I loved the bond that my husband and daughter already shared.
"Have you fed her recently?" Peter mumbled, one of his hands supporting her bum and the other soothingly rubbing up and down her back as he looked down at the baby who was fighting to stay awake against his shoulder.
"No, her last bottle was a couple of hours ago. You want to feed her?" I asked.
"Baby, is that even a question?" He scoffed, making me smirk and shake my head as I grabbed a bottle from the fridge and handed it to Peter. One of Peter's favourite things to do was to feed Scarlett, my husband loving the way that his daughter would look up at him with his own eyes as she'd also grip one of his fingers.
"Thanks, babe." Peter mumbled as he took the bottle from me, his eyes on our baby as he gently re-positioned her from his shoulder so that she was now cradled in one of his arms. His lips spread into a playful gasp as he lowered the bottle. He put it to Scarlett's mouth and she started to drink within seconds, our baby falling silent as she ate.
"That's it, my beautiful girl, eat up, is that so yummy?" He cooed, making me smile and bite my lip as Scarlett looked up at her dad with the most love-filled eyes that I'd ever seen.
"Now that she's in good hands, I'm going to go and take a nap because I'm fucking tired. You'll be okay looking after her alone, won't you?" I checked as I put my hand on Peter's chest.
"Of course I will be, angel, Scar and daddy are going to have an amazing time together, aren't we, princess?" He smiled down at her, making her return it back at him as they looked at each other.
"Okay, wake me up if you need anything." I spoke as I leant up and kissed his jawline.
"Will do, baby, have a good sleep." He smiled, making me return it as I headed out of the kitchen, and towards our bedroom for a much-needed nap.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter sat on the sofa, the boy making over-exaggerated smiles and gasps at Scarlett as the baby lay on his lap and his hands on her feet gently moved her legs around to exercise her. She giggled and laughed at what Peter was doing, her mouth chewing on her fist as she stared up in absolute adoration at her dad.
"Are you getting exercise, my princess? Is daddy helping you to exercise? Yes he is, yes he is." He cooed and shook his head, the TV quietly playing in the background as Peter continued to look after his daughter who had quickly turned into the love of his life. Peter and Y/N had been parents for two weeks now, and the boy had already loved every second of it. Peter had always liked to be around kids and babies, there was just something about the innocence of them that he found so cute and pure. But when Scarlett had been born, that had only amplified ten-fold. Everything about his daughter was perfect, from the way that she'd look up at him with his own eyes, to the way that she'd hold one of his fingers with her entire fist when he fed her, even to the way that her cries weren't piercing or deafening like other babies were, but instead slightly melodic and pure whilst still being able to tell him and Y/N that she needed something. He was utterly in love with their daughter, and he had fallen even more for Y/N too for the fact that she had been able to give him such a beautiful child. She had been able to give him one of the things that he'd always wanted most in life. Peter snapped out of his own thoughts as Scarlett cooed again, making him smile down at her before looking back up at the TV. He sighed at the unknown programme that was playing before he reached for the remote and started to look for something more baby-friendly to watch with Scarlett. His eyebrows furrowed as he flicked through to a classic music channel, his head starting to nod along as 'My girl' started to be played on it.
"As if it were fate, huh, Scar?" He smiled down at her, making her giggle as he lifted her up and rested her back against his shoulder before starting to walk back and forth with her through the living room.
Y/N's P.O.V
I yawned and squeezed my eyes shut as I opened the bedroom door, my body still slightly groggy from the nap that I had just woken up from. But my eyebrows furrowed as, as soon as I opened the door, I heard the sound of gentle music. More specifically, Peter singing along to 'My Girl'.
"I've got sunshine on a cloudy day, when it's cold outside, I've got the month of May." I heard Peter softly sing. The sound already made my heart flutter, my lip in between my teeth as I crept to the doorway of the living room.
"I guess you'd say, what can make me feel this way?" Peter sang, my husband still unaware of my presence as I just stood there and listened to him. He continued to pace the floor of the living room and gently sing to Scarlett, the baby struggling to stay awake against his shoulder as he sang her to sleep. The sight alone was making my heart melt with how pure and adorable it was, everything just feeling perfect about the image of my husband singing our daughter to sleep by himself.
"My girl, my girl, my girl, talkin' 'bout my girl, my girl." Peter continued to sing. I decided to finally make my presence known, my husband's gaze shifting to me as I finally walked into the living room.
"Oh, hey, baby. How long have you been standing there?" He chuckled with a slightly nervous tone as I walked to him, and immediately wrapped my arms around his waist from behind.
"Long enough for my heart to be completely melted in my chest." I teased. He playfully rolled his eyes and chuckled as he moved Scarlett again so that she was lying in his arms. We both stared at the now asleep baby, my head resting against my husband's bicep as we just admired our beyond perfect daughter.
"I still struggle to believe sometimes that she's ours, you know? It feels like she's too perfect for her to be ours." Peter admitted quietly as his eyes flicked over her sleeping face.
"I know what you mean, Pete. But she is ours. She's our perfect little angel, and she always will be." I reassured.
"I know. And that will be the best thing for the rest of my life now until I die. Apart from you, of course." He smiled. I returned it and kissed his bicep, Peter leaning down and kissing my head in return before we both went back to admiring Scarlett. Admiring the perfect baby girl who was now the love of both of our lives. And I wouldn't change that for anything.
