Lost together (Mob boss!AU, Tom Holland)
Requested by Envie_Holland: Tom is a mafia boss and Y/N is his wife. Because of the mob, they've been through a lot, including Y/N's brother dying. They keep fighting and so Y/N decides she needs a distraction and goes to one of Tom's clubs. There she drinks a lot and flirts with the new bartender to get drugs, even though Tom forbids all of his employees from giving her any. Tom wants to apologise to Y/N but can't find her. He freaks out and goes looking for her with Harrison. He finds her at the club, unconscious and unable to be woken up. He gets her home, and looks after her whilst she's unwell.
*Please note: as the request suggests, this chapter contains alcohol consumption and drug use. If that's something that you don't want to read about right now, please don't read this chapter, I'll be back soon with lighter ones. Also always drink responsibly, the drug that I mention in this chapter one IS an illegal one, but most importantly, NEVER mix drugs and alcohol. It can be extremely dangerous, and I'm aware that a lot of my audience and young, and potentially impressionable people, so just wanted to say all of that. Anyway, thank you, and enjoy :) xoxo*
*Lil' definition (this is NOT me endorsing this drug or promoting it, I'm just aware that things are more enjoyable to read if you know what things mean, so:
ket - ketamine, used as a horse tranquiliser*
"Fuck you, Tom." I scoffed as I threw my husband's office door open and stormed out of the room.
"Darling, I'm sorry, but I don't know what else to say to you!" He exclaimed, his feet quickly following after me as he chased me down. My eyes widened and I spun around to look at him, my entire body white-hot with anger as I stared at the love of my life who was currently pissing me the fuck off.
"How about 'I love you'?! How about 'I know that you're grieving, and I want to be there for you'! For fucks' sake, Tom, I lost my brother!" I shouted.
"I know, and I lost my best friend." He nodded. I choked and shook my head, my heart hurting and tears pricking my eyes as I bit my lip harshly in a weak attempt to not cry. Tom and I had known each other since we were little, the pair of us growing up with both Harrison, and my twin brother, Oscar. None of us had had a normal upbringing, and that was purely because Tom was the heir to the Holland mob in Kingston, and mine and Oscar's parents were Dom's right-hand people, as were Harrison's parents. All of us had grown up knowing what business we would be part of, and we had to be okay with it. But mine and Tom's relationship had always made that easier. There had always been something more that I had with Tom than what I had with Harrison, and it had been obvious what the difference was when we had reached teenage-hood. We had deeply fallen for each other at the age of sixteen, and been together ever since. We'd been married for the last three years, and had been trying for our first baby for the last six months. But only a month ago, the biggest tragedy that either of us had ever experienced stopped us in our tracks. And that was the death of Oscar. It had been a normal enough day, Tom, Harrison and Oscar having gone to a gun exchange with another mob whilst I stayed at home and prepped medical supplies just in case something went wrong. But nothing could have prepared me for what actually went wrong. And that was Tom and Harrison dragging Oscar back into the house, my twin brother clearly in his last few moments of life as blood streamed out of the bullet hole in his stomach. All I remembered from that day was letting out a blood-curdling scream, before Oscar collapsed into my arms. I could do nothing but cradle and hold him as he died, my hands shaking and covered in his blood as he died in my arms. Ever since that day, Tom and I hadn't quite been the same. Sometimes I even doubted if he was as affected by Oscar's death as I was, given that he had started spending all day everyday locked in his office, working all hours that the day gave him. We had been fighting non-stop over the most stupid things, and things weren't showing any signs of getting better. Which in itself broke my fucking heart. Tom's eyes wavered and he sighed as he looked down, my husband obviously registering the hurt on my face as he squeezed his eyes shut and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Sorry, sweetheart, I shouldn't have said that. I know that losing Oscar is something that you'll never get over, I...I'm sorry." He mumbled as he looked back up at me. I gulped harshly and shook my head, my mind deciding that I just needed to get the fuck out of here.
"Whatever, Tommy. Just go back to your work. Go back to your real love." I nodded before turning to walk away from him again.
"What-where are you going, darling?!" He called after me.
"Anywhere that's away from you!" I shouted back before storming away from him.
I walked along the street, my heels clicking against the concrete as I headed towards one of Tom's many clubs. This was one of the advantages of being married to Tom. He'd inherited the Holland mob empire, which included approximately ten clubs that were full of sex, drugs and alcohol. Given my status, I obviously got alcohol for free. I of course didn't need the sex, and the drugs...well. I had been very partial to certain pills and powders in my time, but Tom had a single non-negotiable rule for all of his clubs, and that was that no-one was allowed to give me any kind of drugs. And today was exactly the type of day where I could really use some kind of pill. I walked past the roped-in queue and to the front door, Steve giving me a small smile as I approached the bouncer.
"You alright, Steve?" I gave him a nod.
"Mrs Holland. Lovely to see you as always." He smiled, making me return it as he opened the door for me, and let me in. Immediately I could feel the pumping music vibrating in my chest, dark lights shrouding my vision as I walked past crowds of people dancing, kissing, having the fun that I would be having imminently. I immediately headed to the bar, alcohol being the only thing on my mind in order to forget other things as I arrived at the spot. Leo flicked his eyes up to me as he continued to wipe down the top of the bar.
"Mrs Holland. What can I do for you?" He asked as he gave me a smile.
"A shot of tequila, please." I nodded.
"Coming right up." He returned my nod before starting to move around to get me the drink. I bit my lip, my mind already knowing what Leo's reaction would be to my next order, but it was worth a shot.
"...And also a bag of ket." I spoke nonchalantly. Leo sighed, his eyes rolling slightly as he put the shot on the bar, along with a packet of salt and a lime.
"Y/N-."
"Leo, you know that I love you, but you have no idea how little I give a shit about Tom's fucking dumb rule today." I scoffed as I stared daggers at him.
"And you know that I love my dick too much to have Tom cut it off because I gave you drugs. The answer's no. Drink your tequila." He retorted before walking away from me. I rolled my eyes at him, my head too pissed off at Tom to understand the rule like I normally did as I drank the shot. I winced as the bitter taste filled my mouth, it burning my throat as I swallowed it and shivered. I sighed and put the shot glass down before letting my eyes wander down the bar. And that's when I saw him. My eyebrows furrowed, ideas starting to bubble away in my head as I saw a bartender that I didn't recognise. Which meant that he was new, which meant that he would almost definitely give me the ket. Meaning that this naive little cutie was now my best bet. I headed along to him, his eyes widening slightly as he saw me approaching.
"M-Mrs Holland, h-hi, how can I h-help you?" He gulped with a nervous smile as he recognised me
"Hey, honey. Are you new? I haven't seen you here before." I smiled as I casually leant against the bar with my elbows and rested my chin on my closed fist.
"Y-yes, I am, I-I'm Jacob. It's nice to meet you." He chuckled, the poor boy almost shaking with nerves as he continued to just wipe the bar down.
"It's nice to meet you too, Jacob. Listen, I want to order something, okay?" I nodded. His eyes lit up.
"Of course, what can I get you?" He smiled excitedly. And I was about to crush his little dreams.
"I need you to get me a bag of ket." I nodded. Jacob's smile immediately vanished, the boy gulping harshly as he looked around us.
"M-Mrs Holland, I, um, I-I don't think that I can do that-."
"Course you can, Jacob. I'm allowed one bag every so often. It'll be fine, I promise." I lied with a giggle as I batted my eyelashes at him. He gulped again and continued to look around, a sigh leaving his lips as his hand disappeared underneath the counter.
"F-fine, just this once, okay?" He nodded, his gaze continuing to dart around and make sure that no one was seeing this as he placed his hand back on the bar, this time with a small baggie of white powder underneath it.
"Jacob, honey, you're a star." I smiled, the boy gulping again as I put my hand over his and slid it off so that the baggie was now in my palm instead. I sauntered away from the bar, my heart now starting to pound in excitement as I went and found a booth before starting my night of forgetting all of mine and Tom's recent fighting.
Tom's P.O.V
Tom sat at the desk in his study, his eyes on the paperwork in front of him and a pen in his hands as he tried to finish his work. But he couldn't. His mind was too occupied with the fight that he'd had with Y/N, and the fact that he just needed to apologise to her so that they could go to sleep in each other's arms tonight. He was starting to really accept that he'd been an asshole, especially since Oscar had been killed. Of course it hurt Tom that he'd lost one of his best friends, but there was undoubtedly no pain greater than what Y/N was going through, given that she'd lost not just a brother, but a twin. They had been brought into this world together, and yet Y/N had been forced to watch Oscar leave it again, without her. Tom would admit that he hadn't been there for Y/N enough, not at all, and that needed to change. He needed to let her grieve, but let her grieve with him. He needed to spend a week or two away from his office, and instead with his wife, the love of his life. And so he'd decided that he needed to apologise, and needed to do that now. Tom sighed and stood up, his hand rubbing over his eyes as he headed around his desk and to his door. He opened it and stepped out, Harrison further down the corridor and with his back turned to Tom.
"Haz." Tom called out, making his best friend look over his shoulder at him.
"Yeah, boss?" He responded.
"Have you seen Y/N? We had a fight this morning, and I really need to apologise to her." He sighed.
"That's actually why I was about to come and see you. Tom, Y/N's not here, and she hasn't told anyone where she's gone." Harrison admitted. Immediately Tom's eyes widened, his heart plummeting to the floor at his best friend's words. Of course Y/N was her own woman, she was an adult, and she was allowed to come and go as she pleased. But Tom's one rule for her was that she always had to tell someone where she was going. And that was purely because Tom had so many enemies, so many assholes who wanted to harm Tom and his family, that he needed to know where she was in case she didn't come back. Given the situation, Tom was especially worried. The love of his life was awol and was vulnerable, which wasn't a mix that went well together.
"Fuck-right, get the team together, we're going out to look for her. I want you and five of our best men. I think that I know where she's most likely to be, and that'll be one of the clubs. The question is which one. So, let's go and find my wife." Tom nodded, making Harrison return it as the pair rushed down the corridor, and into the foyer so that they could start getting Tom's men together.
"Right. Where the FUCK is my wife?!" Tom yelled at the top of his lungs as him and his men walked into the club. Gasps and whispers came from patrons, all of the bartenders looking at him with wide eyes as the club fell silent. Tom raised his eyebrow and looked around.
"Okay. I'll ask ONE more time before I start cutting dicks off. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY WIFE?!" He shouted, his lungs burning with anger and worry for Y/N. Jacob immediately pointed to a booth at the back of the club, making Tom clench his jaw as he started to storm back there. But as soon as he saw her, his heart almost stopped. His eyes widened, his gaze landing on the horrific sight of Y/N completely passed out against the table in the booth, too many glasses to count surrounding her to show that she was not going to be well once she woke up.
"Shit-darling, are you okay?" Tom gulped as he rushed to her and gently took her face into his hands to raise her head. Her eyes were completely closed, her lips slightly parted as she was completely conked out.
"Sweetheart, talk to me, are you okay?" He gulped again and shook his head as he gently shook her face. But she wasn't waking up, she wasn't even showing any signs of being alive. And that was making Tom start to really fucking panic.
"Y/N, please-." Tom's eyes flicked to the table, his eyebrows furrowing as he saw a small, empty baggie abandoned by the empty glasses. Tom knew exactly what had been in that bag, which made the situation that much worse.
"What the fuck?" He spat, his vision going red with rage as he grabbed the bag and raced to the bar. Jacob's eyes widened, telling Tom exactly who had given his wife the drugs as he sped towards him.
"Mr Holland-."
"What the FUCK did you do?!" He yelled, making Jacob yelp out as Tom grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him forwards so that he was forced to lean against the bar.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry-."
"What's my ONE fucking rule?! THE ONE RULE IN THIS FUCKING PLACE!" Tom shouted at the top of his lungs as his entire body ran hot with pure rage.
"Tom, hold up, Tom." Harrison grunted as he grabbed Tom's shoulders and started to try and pull him away from Jacob.
"Get off of me-."
"Tom, he fucked up, but Y/N is your priority right now. We can't wake her up, you need to get her out of here." Harrison spoke. Tom's eyes wavered at his best friend's words. That his men couldn't wake Y/N up. Tom was so angry right now that he could fucking kill Jacob, but Harrison was right. Y/N was all that mattered right now. He clenched his jaw and looked at Jacob once again.
"You better pray that my wife wakes up. Because if she doesn't, you'll be joining her." He nodded, making Jacob gulp as Tom pushed him away before rushing back to Y/N.
"You're going to be okay, my love. I promise. Please be okay." He choked, his heart palpitating with anxiety as he gently scooped Y/N up bridal style, and rushed out of the club with his wife still unconscious in his arms.
Y/N's P.O.V
I lay in mine and Tom's bed, my entire body shivering and my head spinning like it never had before as I desperately hugged myself. It was the morning after I had disappeared to Tom's club, and I had gone way too fucking hard. I knew it, and Tom knew it, and yet I had woken up an hour ago, back in the safety of our home. I didn't have the strength to look up as I heard the door open, and footsteps approaching the bed. Tom gave me a small and loving smile, his eyes flicking worriedly over my face as he crouched down in front of me, and rested his hand on my cheek.
"How are you feeling, my love?" He asked softly as his thumb soothingly rubbed over my skin.
"L-like I'm ab-bout to...d-die." I whispered. Tom sighed and nodded, his gorgeous chocolate eyes looking into my own as he leant in and gently kissed my cheek.
"I'm really sorry about yesterday, sweetheart. You're right that I really haven't been there for you as much as I should have been since Oscar died, and I know that yesterday was my fault. But I promise you that that changes from today. I am not leaving your side until you're better, and after that, we're going to do this properly. I'm going to be there for you while you grieve properly. I'm sorry." He mumbled, his eyes flicking over my face as tears pricked them. I bit my lip and returned the gaze.
"I'm sorry too, Tommy. What I did was really stupid, and I know that. But I love you for looking after me, and for saying that things will change. I love you." I managed to nod weakly.
"I love you too, darling. I love you too." He gave me a small smile, making me return it as he leant in and gently pressed our lips together.
