Evil stepmother *part 2* (Tom Holland)

Tom's P.O.V

Tom sat on the sofa in his living room, his eyes mindlessly flicking over photos as he sorted through the box that he'd found. But then he flicked to a photo of him and his ex-girlfriend, Y/N. His eyes wavered, a sigh leaving his lips as he looked at the picture. They looked so happy, Y/N laughing and smiling at the camera as Tom also smiled against her cheek. He bit his lip harshly and tried not to cry, though of course the happy memory was now painful. It had been six months since Y/N had broken up with him, and he was truly lost without her. It had taken him weeks after the break-up to start properly talking to his daughters again, given that it was their behaviour that ultimately led to Y/N leaving him. But then Tom had to remember that they were only young, and didn't know what they were doing. Even so, it still hurt like it had yesterday and the day before and the day before that, especially as he still hadn't been able to bring himself to return the engagement ring that he had bought to propose to Y/N with. Tom guessed that a part of him was still somewhat hopeful that things would turn out, but each passing day destroyed that hope more for Tom.

"Daddy." Tom looked over the back of the sofa and gave Lia and Ruby a small smile as they appeared at the doorway.

"Hey, girls. Grandma will be here soon to pick you up, you're going to spend the day with her." He mumbled. The girls' eyebrows furrowed as they looked at each other.

"But, I thought that we were spending the day with you." Ruby scoffed.

"You were, but grandma wanted to see you, so I said that she could take you." Tom nodded.

"But daddy, why can't we stay with you-."

"Christ, girls, because I said so." He cut them off with a snap. Both girls shut their mouths immediately, making Tom sigh and look down as their lips started to quiver. He stood up, his heart breaking at the fact that he had made his girls cry as he walked around the sofa before crouching down in front of them. He gave them a small smile and gently put one hand on each of their arms in reassurance.

"I know that I said that we could spend the day together, my loves, but plans have changed, okay? Daddy just needs a day to himself. But we can spend tomorrow together instead, yeah?" He nodded.

"You promise, daddy?" Lia asked quietly. He sighed and gave her another small smile, tears pricking his eyes at how much his relationship with them had changed for the worse since Y/N as he cupped her cheek.

"I promise, sweetheart. Go on, you two, go and get ready." He nodded before standing back up. The girls nodded before taking each other's hands and heading up the stairs, making Tom shake his head and try to fend off the tears as he sat back down on the sofa. His eyes once again landed on the photo of him and Y/N, the man seemingly unable to take his gaze away from it as he continued to remember the good times, as well as the sad ones. Though admittedly, the only sad one was the day that it had all ended.

Y/N's P.O.V

I sat in my kitchen, my eyes on my laptop as I did my work, and tapped away at the keyboard. I sighed and bit my lip, my life so fucking monotonous and boring since I had left Tom. It had been six months since we'd broken up, and I hadn't experienced a single day of being happy since. It had broken my heart to do what I did, and Tom knew that I did it to save his relationship with his girls as opposed to me no longer being in love with him, because my heart definitely still belonged to him. At this point, I had no doubt that it always would now. Not that it mattered, I had broken Tom's heart and had also broken my own in the process, and so there was no coming back from that. No matter how much I wanted to. I looked up as my doorbell rang, making my eyebrows furrow as I wasn't expecting anyone.

"Who the hell is that?" I mumbled to myself as I stood up and went to my door. I opened it, and immediately my eyes widened. My mouth fell open, my mind completely unsure of what to say as Lia, Ruby and Nikki stood on my doorstep.

"What...it's great to see you, but what are you guys doing here?" I scoffed and shook my head as I looked between the twins, and Nikki.

"Tom asked me to take them today, and they asked to come here. Is it okay if they come in? They have something to talk to you about. I'll be in the car." Nikki nodded as she put her hand gently on Ruby's head. I gulped and returned the nod, nothing but confusion in my head as I looked at the children of my ex-boyfriend.

"Y-yeah, course they can. I'll send them out once we're done, yeah?" I checked as I gently put my hand on Lia's shoulder to start guiding the girls in.

"No bother, thank you, sweetie." Nikki gave me a kind smile, making me return it and nod as she walked away from the door, and I shut it behind the girls.

"Do you two want a drink or anything? Or any snacks?" I asked as the pair of them sat on my sofa, and I sat down on the coffee table opposite them.

"We're okay, thank you." Ruby spoke quietly. I sighed and looked between them.

"Girls, as lovely as it is to see you, you two are very little, and daddy obviously doesn't know that you're here. So, why are you here?" I asked. They gulped and looked at each other before looking back at me.

"Please come back to daddy." Lia spoke. My eyes wavered, my lips parting in shock and tears immediately welling as I tried to work out what to say.

"G-girls, what? What?" I gulped and shook my head.

"Daddy has been sad since you stopped coming over. He cries a lot and looks at photos of you. He's sad all of the time, and we want him to stop being sad." Ruby nodded. I gulped harshly, a tear leaving my eye at the admittance of Tom's daughters that he had been broken since I had ended things. Not that I had been any better, every day I had become more numb since having ended things with the love of my life.

"My loves, you don't like me, why would you want me to start seeing daddy again?" I sighed.

"We're sorry, we were mean and that's not nice. Daddy was happy with you, and he isn't happy anymore. Please go back to him. He loves you, and we do too." Lia nodded. I sighed again and returned the nod, my lips giving them a small smile as I processed everything that was being said. After all, even if they were lying about loving me, or even liking me, I could tell that they weren't lying about how Tom had been coping so far with our break-up. And so, there was only one thing to do. And that was to listen to them, and to go back to Tom.

"Come on then, darlings. Let's go and see your daddy, yeah?" I suggested as I stood from the coffee table. Their eyes immediately brightened, making me smile and bite my lip as they instantly jumped up, and the three of us headed to my front door to take them home, and for me to get back together with Tom.

I opened Tom's front door, the girls running into the house as I shut the door behind us.

"Hey, girls, did you have a good day with-." I looked over my shoulder, my heart immediately fluttering at the sight of Tom. His eyes wavered, his mouth falling open as he saw me too. Despite having spent half a year away, it was already obvious that none of the feelings between us had been lost at all. I still felt the surges of electricity shoot through me, my body completely weightless as I once again stared into the eyes of the love of my life.

"Y/N." Tom choked before rushing towards me. I couldn't help but smile as I turned my body to fully face him, Tom's arms around me within seconds as he smashed our lips together. I returned it instantly, our eyes fluttering shut as I held his face and his arms tightly wrapped around my waist. Suddenly, Tom broke the kiss.

"S-shit, love, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have made assumptions about why you're here, I'm sorry." He gulped and shook his head. I returned the head shake and gently took his face again to make him look at me.

"You assumed right. Your girls came over to my house and asked me to come back to you. They convinced me to come back." I whispered. His eyes wavered, making me smile and nod as he looked over his shoulder at the twins.

"Girls, you did this? You convinced Y/N to come back to daddy?" He asked.

"You were sad, daddy. We didn't want you to be sad anymore." Ruby shrugged as she spoke quietly. I couldn't help but smile and bite my lip, Tom returning the smile as he looked back at me.

"I can't believe that they brought you back to me. But now that they did, I'm going to ask you the question that I was going to ask you that day, six months ago." He nodded as he let me go. My eyes widened, my heart jumping harshly in my chest as I could already tell what the question would be as Tom opened the drawer of the table in the hallway, and took out a ring box. He looked at me, my gaze also glued to him as he got down on one knee in front of me.

"Oh, Tommy." I choked and shook my head as my shaking hands raised to cover my mouth.

"Y/N, I knew from the day that I met you that you were the missing piece of our family. That you would make us whole. We had six months of unplanned separation, but that doesn't matter anymore. Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?" Tom gulped as he looked up at me.

"Yes, Tommy, yes! Of course I will." I sobbed and nodded. His eyes wavered and he choked, smiles spreading onto both of our faces as he stood up. He gently took my hand before sliding the ring onto my finger, tears of pure happiness streaming down our faces as we just held each other.

"I can't wait to start our new lives with you, sweetheart. I can't wait to continue raising my daughters with you." Tom spoke, making Lia and Ruby squeal and giggle as he picked them up before carrying them back to me.

"I can't wait either, Tommy. I love you so much. All three of you." I smiled, making all of them return it as Tom gently kissed me, and I tightly hugged Lia and Ruby. Tightly hugged our perfect little family.
