Always back to you *part 3* (Peter Parker)

Peter and I walked along the street in New York, on our way to the destination that would lead us to the one person that could help us figure out what had happened to us a month and a half ago now, and how Naomi was involved. And I had to admit, the urge to just take Peter's hand and walk along with the limbs together was so hard to resist. Our fingers would lightly brush every few swings of our hands, my heart fluttering and bolts of energy surging through me with each ouch. I fucking loved it, and I just couldn't wait to be able to do it every second with Peter. Our feet slowed down, both of our gazes moving up to look at the huge building as we reached our destination. Peter looked back down at me.

"You ready to do this, then?" He asked. I sighed and returned the gaze.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I nodded. Peter returned it, the boy giving me a small smile that was a clear attempt at reassurance as he stepped forward and pushed the doors open. They glided open with a quiet creak, both of our eyes wandering around the large structure as we walked in. I sighed and gulped, my mind hoping to god that this would work, that he could help us. Because if he couldn't, I didn't know what other options Peter and I had.

"Dr Strange? Are you here?" Peter called out as I continued to let my eyes flick over the elegant building.

"Are you here about Naomi?" Both of us looked up, my heart jumping slightly in anxiety at the sight of Stephen starting to gently glide down the stairs, courtesy of his cape.

"How do you know about Naomi?" I asked.

"Oh, please, I'm the keeper of the time stone, I can feel it in the universe if a single butterfly lands on the wrong flower." He chuckled as he landed at the feet of the stairs.

"Fair point. So, what do you know?" Peter asked. Stephen sighed and looked between us.

"Brace yourself, kids, because you're not going to believe me." He shook his head. My eyebrows furrowed and I looked at Peter, the boy having the same expression on his face as he returned the gaze.

"Try us." Peter nodded before looking back at Stephen. The man gave us a small smile and returned the nod.

"As you two know, we live in one of the many universes that reside in the multiverse. Now, there's one universe within this group where we don't exist. Well, we do, but we're all fictional, we're all characters, characters in comic books. In this universe, Peter's character is played by an actor called Tom Holland." Stephen started to explain. I scoffed and looked back at Peter, my crush clearly finding it equally as hard to believe this story as his eyes squinted, and his mouth formed into an 'O' shape.

"S-sorry, Stephen, you expect me to believe that in one universe, none of us are real, and I'm played by whoever this Tom actor is?" Peter scoffed and shook his head.

"Yes, I expect you to believe it, Pete. As hard as it may be." He nodded. I sighed and looked back at Stephen.

"What does this have to do with Naomi?" I prompted.

"What this has to do with her is that this Tom Holland of course has a lot of fans in his universe. A lot of fans who would do anything to either be with him, or in this case, Peter. Naomi shifted into this universe, just over a month ago. I know that you two felt it as well. The dream that you both thought that you had wasn't a dream. Naomi rewrote the story that you two share in her reality, the one that is your actual life. She rewrote the script so that you two were nothing more than teammates to each other, and so that she was dating Peter and was best friends with you, Y/N. And then, she shifted into this reality so that what she wrote would become true. The off feelings that I know that you've been having for the last month, you were right that she's the reason why." He explained. My eyes widened at his words, my mouth falling open as my heart plummeted to my feet. It really hurt to know that Peter and I had been happy together for god knows how long before Naomi had come in and tried to take him from me. Tried to rewrite our entire lives. Though currently, I was just glad that we'd figured out what had happened.

"Holy shit." Peter mumbled.

"Holy shit is right." I scoffed and nodded in agreement.

"What do we do? How do we fix this?" Peter gulped as he looked back at Stephen.

"Bring her here, and I can send her back. Once she's back in her own universe, everything should go back to how it was, and I'll put a block on her universe to stop her from being able to come back through." He nodded.

"Thank you, Stephen, so much. We'll be back with Naomi as soon as possible, I promise." Peter spoke before placing his hand on the small of my back to start leading me back out of the building. My heart fluttered violently in my chest at the loving action, a smile curling onto my lips and a blush creeping over my cheeks as I let the boy lead me out.

I leant against the breakfast bar in the kitchen, my eyes on my phone as I waited for Naomi to come up. After mine and Peter's visit to see Stephen, we had come up with a plan as to how to incapacitate Naomi, and get her to him so that she could be sent back to her own universe. Peter had texted her half an hour ago to say that he wanted to meet up with her, and so now I was just waiting for her to arrive so that we could put the plan into motion. As if on cue, I heard the elevator ping open. I looked up, my blood boiling but a fake smile forcing itself onto my lips as Naomi walked out from it and towards me.

"Hey, bestie! You okay?" She squealed as I stood up straight.

"Yeah, I'm good. But I need to ask you something." I nodded.

"Sure, go ahead." She smiled. I bit my lip and studied her face as my mind tried to figure out how much she'd deny this before hopefully coming clean.

"Who are you, Naomi?" I asked. Her smile dipped, her eyebrows furrowing as she looked at me.

"What?" She chuckled nervously.

"I don't know who you are, Naomi, not in our universe, anyway. But I know that you don't belong here. I know that you changed mine and Peter's lives so that you could have him. What you did wasn't okay, and you need to fix it." I nodded, my eyes glued to her as I started to walk towards her, and she walked back too to keep the distance between us.

"I-I, I don't-."

"Don't deny it, Naomi. Peter and I know the truth. And it's time that we help you to go home." I spoke, my voice as calming as I could make it given how angry I was as I gently started to outreach my hand to her. Her eyes widened.

"Fuck you, I'm not going back! I have the perfect life with Peter, I love him, and you're NOTHING! He's mine, and I won't go back!" She spat. I sighed and flicked my eyes past her, Peter nodding to me as he slowly but surely crept up behind her.

"You sure about that?" I nodded. As soon as I spoke, Peter tightly wrapped his arms around Naomi from behind, making the girl's eyes widen again.

"NO, GET OFF OF ME, I'M NOT GOING BACK, FUCK YOU, FUCK BOTH OF YOU, NO!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as Peter held her, and got out the needle that contained the sedative.

"Don't fight, you're safe, it's okay, we're just going to put you to sleep, I promise that you're safe." He nodded, his eyes on her neck as he gently pierced it with the needle before starting to inject the fluid.

"NO, LET ME GO, FUCK YOU!" She continued to yell, but within seconds, her eyes started to droop.

"She's going, Pete, make sure that you have her." I nodded.

"I know, I know, she's okay." He cooed, the boy gently lying the now unconscious Naomi onto the floor. He puffed out and stood back up as he looked at me.

"Fuck me, that was harder than I thought that it was going to be." He chuckled and shook his head.

"She was willing to shift into our universe and rewrite our whole lives, I'm not surprised that she fought a little to keep that." I smiled. He returned it and bit his lip, my heart fluttering as he gently took my hands into his.

"You ready to go and get our lives back?" He asked softly. I nodded and looked into his stunning eyes, his thumbs soothingly moving against the backs of my hands as we gazed at each other.

"Let's do it." I responded equally as quietly. He gave me a small smile, the boy leaning down and gently pecking my cheek before pulling away and picking up Naomi so that we could take her back to Stephen.

Peter, Stephen and I stood in his underground magic cave, Naomi still unconscious and gently laid on a blanket-covered slab of stone that was in the middle of the ritual circle.

"Why does this give me human sacrifice vibes?" I gulped, Peter nodding in agreement as Stephen set up the spell around us, and Naomi.

"Don't worry, kid, it's nothing as sinister as that. All you two will experience is what you experienced the first time, and it won't hurt a bit for any of you. You two will wake up forgetting that this ever happened, and she'll wake up the same, just in her own universe. Are you guys ready?" He checked. I gulped and looked at Peter, the boy giving me a small smile as he took my hand and intertwined our fingers together.

"Ready." He nodded. I returned it and bit my lip, my heart starting to race with the prospect of getting back the memories that I hadn't even known that I'd lost as Peter and I stepped into the ritual circle, and stood next to Naomi's still asleep body.

"Okay, kids. See you on the other side." Stephen nodded before opening his pendant. The man started to move his hands, the golden shapes and wisps needed starting to come from them as he started the spell. Within seconds, the low rumbling from the night that I had thought was a dream started, making Peter and I look up as cracks started to appear in the ceiling. I gulped, our eyes widening as within seconds, the walls started to break away, just like they had done the first time. Purple and blue energy surrounded the four of us, the floor disappearing from underneath our feet to leave Peter and I floating. I gulped and looked at the boy.

"Peter, I'm scared!" I yelled so that I would be heard through all of the chaos that now surrounded us. He gave me a small smile, his warm hand taking mine again in order to comfort me.

"I know. So am I. But we're going to wake up, and be back to normal. It's all going to be okay, I promise. And if it's not, I...I'll find you." He nodded. I choked and bit my lip, tears pricking my eyes at the idea that this wouldn't work. The potential that Peter and I would wake up from this even more distant than we currently were. But this was also the only way to get back to what we once were too. And surely that was worth the risk.

"You promise?" I choked, the energy that surrounded us pushing us closer together to counter what the energy the first time had done to us. He nodded, his gorgeous eyes looking over my face as his hands cupped my waist to pull me into his body.

"I promise." He returned before leaning down and kissing me.

My eyes shot open, a sharp gasp leaving my lips as my body was pulled harshly out of one of the weirdest dreams that I'd ever had. I panted heavily and gulped, a thin layer of sweat coating my skin as I tried to let myself feel the softness of my bed, and just stared at the wall as I tried to understand the dream. It had been an insanely weird one, that was for sure.

"Are you okay, baby? You woke up really suddenly there." My heart relaxed, my eyes fluttering shut at the feeling of Peter's strong arm around my waist to hold my back into his chest, and his silky voice pouring into my ear as he pressed his lips to my neck from behind.

"Yeah, I just...I had the weirdest dream. I can't even describe it." I whispered and shook my head as I rolled onto my back, and Peter's hand moved to hold my waist so that his arm was over my torso. His eyebrows furrowed.

"Huh, that's weird. I had a super insane dream, too. Do you want to talk about it?" He checked. I sighed and shook my head as I looked up at the gorgeous boy who was the love of my life.

"No. I'd rather kiss you." I smiled.

"Oh, I can do that." He smirked, making me laugh as he leant down and kissed me. My eyes fluttered shut as I sank into it, my hand raising to hold his face as his arm curled underneath me to pull me closer.

"Can we have five more minutes in bed, angel?" Peter mumbled as he broke the kiss and instead nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck.

"Yeah, Pete. Five more minutes sounds good." I sighed in bliss, my eyes fluttering shut again as I gently played with his curls, and he stayed lying on top of me as we cuddled for a few more minutes. But I wouldn't have had it any other way.
