Suspicious *part 2* (Peter Parker)

"No, it's a seriously bad idea, and we're not going." Peter scoffed, both of us standing at his open locker as he shoved his stuff into it.

"No, Pete, it's a seriously good idea, and I am going." I nodded. He looked at me.

"You'd really go without me?" He asked.

"If you're completely unwilling to go, then, yeah, I would." I stated. He sighed and shook his head.

"Babe-."

"Pete, look, I know that your worry about them being way too much is still there, but they're accepting me. They're inviting me to this when there is no obligation to. They're already letting me in, and I don't want to jeopardise that by saying no to the first thing that they invite me to." I scoffed, making Peter look at me. It had been a week since Peter had finally introduced me to the Avengers after six months of keeping me a secret from them, and already the team were clearly trying their hardest to let me in and to get to know me. Tonight, they were having dinner, a movie and games' night, and had invited me to go along with Peter. Whilst I was very eager to tag along, Peter was extremely hesitant for us to go. I knew that he'd give in eventually, though. He sighed and shook his head.

"Fine, alright, but I get to say that I told you so if they become way too much." He chuckled.

"Thank you, Pete." I smiled, making him return it as I took his face and pecked his lips before taking his hand.

"I don't know what would have happened if you'd had said no, I already told Nat that we were coming." I shrugged, making Peter look at me as we started to head out of school.

"You did what-how did you even tell her, you haven't seen them since you first met them." He scoffed.

"She gave me her number." I nodded as I looked up at him. His eyes widened, his mouth falling open at my words.

"She gave you her-I seriously need to talk to them about boundaries." He scoffed again, making me chuckle and bite my lip as we left school.

Peter and I stood in the elevator in the Avengers' Tower, our hands joined and fingers intertwined as it took us up to the dinner that we'd be having with the team. And I had to admit, I was shitting myself. I had managed to drag a still very reluctant Peter along with me, but then it had occurred to me that maybe there actually was a reason as to why he was so reluctant. And that scared me.

"I can tell that you're scared, baby." Peter's voice broke me out of my thoughts. I sighed and looked up at him.

"That obvious, huh?" I chuckled. He returned it and nodded as his gaze flicked over my face.

"Just a bit. You're going to be okay, though. I know that I'm worried about how clingy they'll be, but that's a good sign. Trust me, if you hadn't made an amazing first impression on them last week, Mr Stark would have called an airstrike on you by now." He joked. I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled as I judged his arm with my shoulder, making him chuckle and look straight ahead again.

"You look beautiful, by the way." He added, making me smile and bite my lip at him as the elevator stopped.

"Thanks, Pete." I nodded. My boyfriend gave me a small smile as the glass doors opened, making me gulp and take a deep breath as he gently pulled me out using my hand still in his. We wandered out, my heart almost bursting out of my chest as we walked towards the open-plan kitchen and living room that the whole team was sitting in.

"Anyone home?" Peter called out jokingly, making all of them look up at us. Their eyes widened.

"Oh my god, they're here-hi! Oh, Y/N, you look stunning!" Natasha squealed as she shot up and rushed towards me before engulfing me in a tight hug.

"Thanks, you look lovely too." I chuckled nervously as she pulled away.

"Oh, please, I'm in my sweats, I look like a hobo." She returned the chuckle as everyone else came to greet us.

"It's great to see you again, Y/N. Don't worry, I didn't let Cap cook the meal tonight." Tony smiled as he hugged me.

"At least I don't have to hire someone to cook for me." Steve scoffed.

"That's not the insult that you think that it is." Tony shook his head, making Steve sigh and give me a small smile as he also hugged me.

"It's great to see you again, Y/N. Peter hasn't stopped talking about you." He smiled, making me return it as they headed through to the kitchen. I turned to look at Peter.

"See? It's all okay." I reassured as I took his hand again.

"Just wait until we start playing 'Uno'." He scoffed and shook his head, making me smile and pull him to the dinner table.

I sat next to Peter at the dinner table, all of us quietly eating the food that Tony's chef had prepared as small bits of conversation were made.

"So, Y/N...who's your favourite superhero? Be warned that there is a correct answer, and it's not the boy sitting next to you." Tony teased, making me chuckle and Peter playfully roll his eyes.

"Ha, ha." Peter nodded.

"Well, I'm going to say him anyway. Spider-Man is my favourite superhero." I nodded and smiled, making Peter return it as he put his hand on my thigh.

"Pfft, kiss-ass." Natasha scoffed before closing her eyes and shaking her head as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I am so sorry, I keep forgetting that you're not a jackass member of this team and so I can't respond sarcastically like that. It's sweet." She smiled.

"It's okay. I deal with enough assholes at school to not let silly comments bother me." I reassured.

"I keep telling Pete that one call to me, one airstrike is all that he needs." Tony shrugged and held his hands up.

"I don't need an airstrike, I have Spider-Man." Peter chuckled.

"That's true, the one guy who gives Pete a hard time loves Spider-Man. Just a shame that you can't tell him who you really are." I nodded.

"He wouldn't believe me anyway." He chuckled, making me sigh and give him a small smile.

"Okay but back to the original conversation because clearly we can't let your boyfriend count as your favourite superhero, who is your favourite superhero?" Steve asked. I sighed and looked at each of them, every one of them looking at me hopefully.

"Guys, I'm sorry but this is such a boys' club, I have to go with Nat-."

"Oh, come on!" Steve exclaimed as he threw his arms up in exacerbation and slouched back in his chair.

"Yeah, what gives? I'm literally a billionaire who was kept alive for years by nothing but an arc reactor." Tony scoffed.

"And I was jacked up by a German scientist and frozen in ice for seventy years, and yet didn't age a day." Steve nodded.

"Oh, please, I'm a Russian trained assassin who could have you all dead on the floor in five seconds if I wanted you to be. She picked me and was right to." Natasha shrugged as she sipped her drink.

"Feel overwhelmed yet?" Peter whispered into my ear. I playfully rolled my eyes at him and gave him a small smile, making him chuckle and kiss my head as he put his arm around me.

"I will shoot you, motherfucker, do not put that card down." Natasha spat and shook her head, making Steve smirk and bite his lip as he decided whether to put down a simple 'red three' card or a 'plus four' for Natasha in 'Uno'.

"Okay, yeah, I choose to live." Steve chuckled and shook his head as he put the 'red three' card down.

"Wise choice, asshole." Natasha mumbled, making Peter and I laugh and shake our heads as we all sat around playing the game. Since dinner, Wanda, Bruce and Thor had also joined, so now the eight of us were sitting around playing the card game. Peter had been right that I wouldn't truly know the heroes until I'd played it with them. Right now, I was fearing for my life.

"Sorry, Tony." Natasha smirked as she put down a 'plus four' card.

"Don't be sorry for me, apologise to Wanda." Tony chuckled as he put the same card down.

"Whoever is at the end of this chain is going to have a lot of cards." Wanda mumbled, everyone's eyes starting to widen as she also put the 'plus four' card down.

"Please tell me that we have no weapons in this room." Bruce gulped, my mouth falling open as he also put that card down. Everyone stared at me, their eyes wide as they waited to see what I would do. Either I passed it onto Peter, who I knew didn't have a 'plus four' card, or I took it myself. I looked at Peter.

"I love you." I smiled as I put the 'plus four' card down. Everyone's eyes widened, the rest of the team laughing, clapping and cheering as Peter just stared at me with an open mouth.

"We're breaking up." He nodded, making everyone laugh and me giggle as he leant forward to pick up the stack of cards that he had to collect.

"You're all dead to me, absolutely fucking dead to me." He chuckled and shook his head.

"Sorry, Pete." Natasha smiled sheepishly.

"No you're not, Romanoff." Steve scoffed.

"No, I'm not." She shook her head, making us laugh as I sat back into Peter's arm.

All of us sat in the living room, my head and hand on Peter's chest and his arm curled around my waist to hold me into his body as we watched a movie with the team. Peter looked down at me.

"So...was today everything that you'd hoped that it would be?" He chuckled quietly so that he didn't disturb the others by talking as he gently moved a strand of hair out of my face.

"It really was. I know that you think that they're a bit much, but they're really cool and welcoming." I smiled.

"Yeah, they are. I know that I talk a lot of shit about how involved they are, but they're my family, and I love them for that. And, they love you. They think that you're awesome." He admitted.

"They've said that?" I whispered.

"They don't have to, I know how they act with different people based on if they like them. They wouldn't have been talking to you and joking around with you all night if they didn't love you." he reassured. I smiled and bit my lip at his words.

"Well, that's good, isn't it? Because I love you and I'm here to stay." I stated.

"That is good." He smiled, making me giggle as he leant down and pressed our lips together. My eyes fluttered shut as I returned it, my hand raising to cup his face as we kissed.

"If you two want to hook up, I'd rather you do it in Pete's room than on my nice, expensive sofa." We broke the kiss, Peter sighing and me blushing as the team chuckled at Tony's words.

"Thanks for that, Mr Stark." Peter nodded, making me smile and bite my lip as I snuggled more into Peter's chest, my heart happy with the knowledge that the team loved and accepted me as much as I loved and accepted Peter.
