Suspicious *part 1* (Peter Parker)
Requested by Natalia_1010: Peter keeps acting really suspicious around the Avengers and they don't know why, so one day, they follow him. When they follow him, they see him kissing a girl and start begging him to introduce her to them.
"Not yet." Peter scoffed, my boyfriend shoving his books into his open locker as we stood in the school hallway.
"Come on, Pete, we've been dating for six months now and they still haven't met me. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you didn't want them to meet me." I teased.
"You know that it's not that, I just...soon, but not yet." He shook his head as he looked at me. My eyes wavered, my heart plummeting to my feet as I saw the look in his eyes. The look that was absolutely wracked with guilt.
"You haven't even told them about me yet...have you?" I scoffed. His eyes wavered, a sigh leaving his lips as he looked at me.
"Babe-."
"So, last month, when you promised that you'd tell them, you just...didn't." I shrugged as I tried not to let my voice crack with a choke. Peter's face softened further as he saw the tears in my eyes.
"Hey, please don't get upset, that's not why I haven't told them about you yet, angel." He sighed as he curled his arms around my waist.
"Why haven't you then?" I shook my head.
"Fuck, because once I do, they'll be a lot to handle-."
"Sorry, they'll be a lot for me to handle? Peter, babe, I'll be a lot for them to handle." I nodded. He sighed again in defeat and looked at me.
"I haven't told them yet because once I do, it's going to be a lot. They're going to want to know you immediately, half of them will play the 'overprotective aunts and uncles' role and will threaten to hunt you down if you ever hurt me, whilst the other half will embarrass me at the first chance that they get by telling you various stories about how I've fucked up on missions and stuff like that. I just-I'm not ready yet to deal with them launching onto you and wanting to know everything. I love you and in no way am I ashamed of you, but I just need some more time." He reassured, making me return his sigh and flick my eyes up to look at him. Peter and I had been dating for six months now, and it had been nothing short of amazing. He had been upfront with me from the beginning and had come clean to me about the fact that he was Spider-Man, so whilst it was definitely a shock to go from dating Peter Parker, cute nerd and robotics king, to dating Peter Parker, cute nerd, robotics king and superhero, it was a shock that I had welcomed. There was only one thing about our relationship that I didn't like so much, though. And that was the fact that after half a year, I still had yet to be introduced by Peter to the Avengers. I had no interest in meeting them for the sake of meeting famous people, but I knew how much they'd helped Peter when he'd come into his powers three years ago. I knew that they were his family, and so I wanted to meet them. But every time that I'd asked, Peter had been reluctant to make that step. At least now I knew why.
"You should have just told me that, Pete. I get it if you're worried about how full-on they'll be. Telling me that would have been better than allowing me to believe for six months that I wasn't good enough to be introduced to the Avengers as your girlfriend." I teased as I put my hands on his chest, making him chuckle and nod as he pulled me closer.
"You have a good point, babe, I should have just said that from the start. But now I have, and you're okay with it?" He asked hopefully.
"Of course I am, Pete. I understand the pressures of introducing a girlfriend to a big family. Take your time, it's okay." I reassured.
"God, I love you, you're the best." He smiled.
"Tell me something that I don't know." I teased, making him laugh and nod as he leant down to gently kiss me.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter stood in front of the mirror in his bedroom, his eyes raking over his untamed curls, smart blue dress shirt, black jeans and smart shoes. He nodded to himself, his mind knowing that Y/N would love this look for their six-month-anniversary date. The one that he had yet to figure out how to sneak out of the Tower to get to without too many questions. Peter sighed and flicked his eyes back up to his face in the mirror. He knew that he was being somewhat unfair on Y/N for making her wait to meet the team that were basically his family, but he knew that as soon as he told them, it would basically turn into their relationship too. They'd start planning the wedding, they'd start picking out baby names, Bruce would start knitting small baby shoes that wouldn't be used for another ten years. Peter loved all of them but he knew that they'd be dying to get involved the second that they found out. And so he figured that he could give himself another month or so. It didn't help that he knew that the team was starting to get suspicious that something was going on with him. After all, this would be far from the first date with Y/N that he'd had to sneak out for, and the rest of the Avengers were starting to question, both to his face and behind his back, where he really went every time that he bullshitted some half-baked excuse. He knew that it was only a matter of time before they found out, but he still hoped that he had some time left. At least, that's what he hoped. He nodded to himself before grabbing his phone, wallet and keys, and shoving them into his pocket as he opened his bedroom door. He walked out into the hallway, a sigh leaving his lips as sure enough, the entire team was hanging out in the kitchen and conjoining living room. There was no way in hell that he'd be able to leave without them asking a dozen questions about where he was going and why he was dressed so nicely. He walked into the room, making everyone look up at him.
"Woah, what's with the fancy-ass get up, Prince Charming?" Natasha chuckled, making Peter sigh as everyone else snickered and laughed.
"I'm just going to May's for dinner, figured that I'd make an effort for once." He lied, making their eyes widen.
"I'm sorry, kid, but that's horse shit, I've seen you leave for May's in a dirty t-shirt and sweatpants before." Tony scoffed.
"Well, that's where I'm going. See you guys later." Peter shrugged as he turned around to head towards the elevators.
"Uh huh. Say hi to your secret girlfriend for us, Pete!" Steve called after him. Peter froze in place, his eyes widening and his cheeks heating up at Steve's words. Thank fuck that he had his back turned to them so that they couldn't see his reaction.
"Y-yeah, good one, I wish." Peter chuckled nervously, the boy swallowing thickly as he walked a little quicker to the elevator before they could say anything else that would make him trip up in the lie.
Peter walked through the mall, his shoes clicking against the floor as he walked to where he was meeting Y/N for the date. As if on cue, his eyes landed on the beautiful girl sitting in front of the water fountain, a smile curling onto his lips as she looked up and saw him too.
"Hey, baby. Fuck, you look beautiful." He smiled as she stood up.
"So do you, Pete. Don't you scrub up well?" She chuckled as he curled his arms around her waist and she gently straightened up his collar.
"I had to make an effort, didn't I? It's not every day that I get to celebrate six months dating such an amazing girl." He flirted, making her playfully roll her eyes and smile as he leant down and kissed her. She returned it, her lips soft against his like always as she held his face and he gripped her waist. He broke the kiss and smiled at her, her returning it before her gaze moved past him. Her eyebrows furrowed before her eyes widened.
"Um...Pete...the Avengers are watching us kiss from behind a trash can." She nodded. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked over his shoulder. His eyes widened, his mouth hanging open as sure enough, he could see the edges of Tony, Natasha and Steve's faces as the whole team tried and failed to hide themselves behind the can.
"Oh my god-give me a second, angel, I'm so sorry." He sighed, making her chuckle as he pecked her lips before quickly turning around. He quickly walked to them, his heart almost exploding in his chest out of anger as he raced towards them. Their eyes widened.
"Oh, shit-I told you that he could see us, I fucking told you to get back, Steve." Natasha scoffed as Peter got to them.
"Guys, what the actual fuck are you doing here?!" He hissed quietly enough so that Y/N wouldn't hear the conversation.
"Language-."
"Now is not the time, Steve, he just caught us stalking him and his secret girlfriend-."
"Someone tell me what is going on, now!" Peter exclaimed.
"It's pretty much that simple, kid. We didn't believe you when you said that you were meeting May dressed like that, and we've been suspicious of your reasons for going out for a while. So, we followed you to see if we were right about you having a girlfriend that, for some reason, we haven't met yet." Tony scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest.
"By the way, Steve, you owe me fifty bucks, I told you that she'd be out of his league." Natasha chuckled. Peter stared at them with wide eyes, his mouth hanging open as he tried to comprehend how this merry band of chuckle-fucks were his family.
"This is why I waited so long! THIS is why I have yet to introduce her to you, because you literally stalked me to know for certain that I was seeing someone! You guys, a bunch of literal forty-year-old super humans, stalked an eighteen-year-old to see if he was lying about having a girlfriend." He nodded.
"Okay, but you were lying, though-."
"Not the point, Steve." Peter shook his head.
"Okay, but we're here now! So, let's meet her! She's seen us now and she's ten feet away, you can't not introduce her to us." Natasha smiled, making the others smile and nod too. Peter sighed and clenched his jaw as he looked at Y/N. The poor girl gave him a small smile and a wave, making him sigh and return the smile before looking at them again.
"God, alright, fine. But, ground rules. No asking how we met, no talking about future plans, no getting too ahead of yourselves, okay? Remember that we're eighteen and have only been dating for six months." He nodded, making their eyes widen.
"Six months and we still haven't met her?! Oh, Pete, you are so kicked off of the next mission-."
"Oh my god." Peter mumbled and shook his head, the team following him as he headed back to Y/N.
Y/N's P.O.V
I sat on the bench in front of the waterfountain in the mall, my eyes on my nails as I waited for Peter to meet me. Asif on cue, I looked up, a smile curling onto my lips as he walked towards me.And boy did he look good.
"Hey, baby. Fuck, you look beautiful." He smiled as I stood up, my heartalready skipping a beat at his words.
"So do you, Pete.Don't you scrub up well?" I chuckled as he curled his arms around my waist andI gently straightened up his collar.
"I had to makean effort, didn't I? It's not every day that I get to celebrate six monthsdating such an amazing girl." He flirted, making me playfully roll my eyes andsmile to cover up the fact that he was making my heart flutter as he leant downand kissed me. I returned it, his thin lips feeling amazing against mine likealways as I held his face and he gripped my waist. He broke the kiss and smiledat me, me returning it before my gaze moved past him. My eyebrows furrowedbefore my eyes widened at the fact that I could see what appeared to be TonyStark, Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers hiding behind a trash can. And staringat us.
"Um...Pete...the Avengers are watching us kiss from behind a trash can."I nodded. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked over his shoulder. His eyeswidened, his mouth hanging open as he saw the same thing that I wasseeing.
"Ohmy god-give me a second, angel, I'm so sorry." He sighed, making me chuckle ashe pecked my lips before quickly turning around. He quickly walked away fromme, making me try not to smile as I could soon hear him telling them off in ahushed voice. My heart started to beat more harshly in my chest, my mindfiguring out that surely, he'dintroduce me to them now that they had basically gate-crashed our date. And Icouldn't wait to finally meet Peter's family. Peter looked at me, making megive him a small smile and a wave in reassurance. He sighed and returned mysmile before turning back to the Avengers. I gulped harshly, my heart jumpingin nervousness as Peter walked back towards me, his entire team followingbehind as they smiled at me.
"Okay, here we go, I guess. Guys, this is my girlfriend, Y/N. Babe, youknow the Avengers." Peter sighed as he gestured to them.
"'Babe',aw-."
"I'm Nat, I'm thecool one, I'll be who you go to to chat shit when these guys start to piss youoff." She smiled, making me chuckle nervously as she gave me a hug.
"Sorry, since when were you thecool one? I was literally frozen in ice for seventy years, I'm the cool one. Ha, do you see what I did there-."
"Yes, Steve,we all got the joke. I'm Tony, I'm the one who makes Peter's very nice suits so that he doesn't dieevery night." Tony smiled as he shook my hand.
"Oh my god."Peter sighed and closed his eyes in exacerbation as he shook his head.
"Well, like Pete said, I'm Y/N. It's great to finally meet all of you,I've heard a lot about you." I chuckled and nodded as Peter curled his armaround my waist.
"I'd love to say that we've heard all about you, but we haven't. You'reapparently Peter's best-kept secret, and he's literally been Spider-Man forthree years without anyone figuring out his real identity." Tony nodded.
"Okay, as much as I hate to break this up, Y/N and I actually have adinner reservation in five minutes, so we should probably go." Peter nodded ashe looked down at me with slightly wide eyes. I chuckled and returned the nodas I caught on to what he was hinting at.
"Yeah, we better go. But it was lovely tomeet all of you." I smiled.
"It was great to meet you too. Come by the Tower any time." Stevereturned my smile.
"Yes, any girlfriend of Peter's is welcome, especially because it meansthat there's finally another girl around, Wanda is too busy in Westview rightnow." Natasha chuckled.
"And with that,I'll see you guys later." Peter nodded as he started to turn us around.
"Nice to meet youguys." I smiled as I waved at them.
"You too, come by any time!"Tony called after us as Peter started to walk us away.
"They weren't toobad, Pete. I'm glad that I finally met them." I smiled up at him as we headedto the restaurant.
"Trust me, babe, wait until you play yourfirst game of 'Uno' with them. You'll never see the real them until you play'Uno' with them." He shook his head, making me laugh and wrap my hands aroundhis arm as we headed into the restaurant to finally celebrate oursix-month-anniversary.
