Premiere gone wrong (Tom Holland)
Requested by TomHollandSeries3000: Tom and Y/N are at a premiere. The fans are extremely excited behind the fences that are separating them from the red carpet. Tom and Y/N go to take photos and sign stuff for fans when they start to become too rowdy. The fans get so excited that they knock the fences down, allowing them and the paparazzi to start surrounding Y/N. This makes her extremely anxious, especially as Tom and security can't get through the crowd to her. Y/N ends up being punched by someone and is knocked unconscious.
Tom and I sat in the limo, my boyfriend of two years' hand gently massaging my thigh through my dress as we drove to the premiere. He looked at me.
"So, you excited for tonight, love?" He asked.
"I'm not sure that excited is the right word, but sure." I sighed and bit my lip, making Tom give me a reassuring smile and take my hand in his spare one. Tom and I were on our way to the premiere of a movie that we had starred in together, 'Cherry'. The intimate scenes of kissing and pretending to have sex meant that we'd gotten close very quickly, and it became obvious within weeks that the chemistry that we had onscreen wasn't limited to our characters. And so, Tom and I had been dating practically since the start of us filming the movie, all of it leading to tonight. The premiere. But I was absolutely shitting myself. A fact that I kept from the public was that, just like my boyfriend, I absolutely hated premieres. I had started suffering from social anxiety a few years ago, and so there was nothing worse in my eyes than having dozens of paparazzi and hundreds of fans screaming at me and begging for photos whilst I had to keep a fake smile plastered onto my face. Of course, I would always be grateful for the support that my fans showed me, but sometimes, it just got a bit too much. My heart leapt, butterflies of anxiety already filling my stomach as the limo stopped and the car immediately filled with the flashing lights of cameras. I took a deep breath as Tom looked at me.
"You've got this, sweetheart. You're going to be amazing." He reassured, making me gulp as he leant in and pecked my lips before opening the car door. Tom stepped out before extending a hand to me, making me take another deep breath before placing my hand into his and emerging from the car. Immediately, I was blinded by the lights, the loud shouts and screams of paparazzi and fans ringing in my ears as I plastered a smile onto my face. Tom intertwined our fingers as we started to walk the red carpet, smiles on both of our faces as my black dress swept the floor. We walked to the photos' section, Tom's arm curling around my waist and me hanging my arm casually over his shoulder as we stood and took pictures.
"TOM, Y/N, OVER HERE!"
"Y/N, WHO ARE YOU WEARING TONIGHT?!"
"TOM, GIVE HER A KISS FOR US!" Tom chuckled and shook his head, making me keep the smile as my boyfriend leant down and kissed my cheek. The cameras snapped relentlessly to capture the image that would no doubt be all over the internet tomorrow as Tom kept me hooked into his arm.
"You guys." We looked to the side as the director of the premiere walked towards us.
"We need you to split up if that's okay, we're going to get you to sign things, take photos with fans, take individual photos and stuff, is that alright?" He asked.
"Yeah, no bother." Tom nodded before looking at me.
"Will you be alright, love? I'll just be over there if you need me." he reassured, though a slight worry was in his gorgeous eyes as they flicked over my face.
"I'll be fine." I lied with a nod. He sighed, my boyfriend clearly not believing me, but he knew that he had no choice when we had clear instructions.
"Okay. I'll see you in a bit." he nodded, making me return it as he pecked my lips before he went to the right, and I went to the left. I walked towards the barrier that held the fans off of the carpet, them screaming and waving pens and photos of me to sign as I got closer.
"Hey, guys, how are we all doing tonight?" I smiled as I started to take people's photos and pens and signed them as quickly as possible so that I could do as many as possible.
"WE LOVE YOU, Y/N!" Someone screamed.
"I love you too!" I laughed, making them all scream as I looked down the crowd for Tom. My boyfriend stood doing the same thing as me about fifty metres away, laughs leaving his lips as he talked to the fans, took photos, and signed stuff. He raised his head, his eyebrows raising as if to ask me if I was okay. I gulped and nodded, making him return it and give me a sympathetic smile before he turned back to the fans. I did the same, my body leaning in and my lips smiling as one of them took a selfie of us. But as I continued to sign stuff, the fans seemed to get more excited...and more rowdy. I tried to take subtle deep breaths, though my heart was violently racing in my chest as butterflies swarmed my stomach. I looked up as I started to hear a creaking. My eyes widened, my heart jumping again as the fans were pushing so much against the metal barriers that they were starting to come down. Fuck.
"Guys, woah, stop!" I yelled out, but it was too late. The barriers came down, making me gasp as within seconds, I was utterly surrounded by paparazzi and screaming fans. I gulped harshly, tears pricking my eyes and threatening to fall as I desperately looked around for any way out of the crowd that I was engulfed in. Any way for Tom to get to me, or for security to. But there was nothing. I was trapped, and I was freaking out more by the second.
"Guys, please give me some space, I can't breathe, please." I choked, my hands starting to shake as pins and needles began to fill my body. My breathing only got more rapid, my heart racing in my chest as fans continued to scream at me and the harsh light of camera flashes continued to go off in my face. And then everything went even more wrong. Before I knew what was happening, I felt someone's fist harshly collide with my face. The force knocked all of the energy straight out of me, a quiet yelp leaving my lips as I collapsed to the floor, and everything went dark.
Tom's P.O.V
"We need you to split up if that's okay, we're going to get you to sign things, take photos with fans, take individual photos and stuff, is that alright?" The director asked.
"Yeah, no bother." Tom nodded before looking at Y/N.
"Will you be alright, love? I'll just be over there if you need me." he reassured, though his mind was full of worry for his girlfriend as he looked at her. After all, whilst they both hated premieres, Y/N's social anxiety meant that it was a lot more serious for her than just a little bit of stress. And so whilst he knew that they had to split up, Tom was not keen on the idea of leaving her alone, even if he was only a few metres away.
"I'll be fine." She nodded. He sighed and didn't fully believe her, but he knew that he had no choice when the pair had clear instructions.
"Okay. I'll see you in a bit." he nodded, making her return it as he pecked her red lips before he went to the right, and she went to the left. He walked towards the barrier that held the fans off of the carpet, them screaming and waving pens and photos of Tom to sign as he got closer.
"Hey, guys, how is everyone tonight?" Tom smiled as he started to take people's photos and pens and signed them as quickly as possible so that he could do as many as possible.
"WE LOVE YOU, TOM!" Someone screamed.
"I love you too!" He laughed, making them all scream as he continued to scribble his signature against magazine clippings and printed out photos. He raised his head and looked down to Y/N, the girl already looking at him. His eyebrows raised to ask her if she was okay. She gulped and nodded, making him return it and give her a sympathetic smile before he turned back to the fans. He knew that Y/N was freaking the fuck out right now, but this was part of their job, and he knew that he couldn't step in if she was getting on with it. Suddenly, the crowd on Y/N's side started to get louder, the screams getting more boisterous. Tom looked up, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to figure out what was going on.
"What the fuck?" He mumbled as the fans seemed to be reaching out more for Y/N by the second. As if on cue, the metal barrier gave way, making Tom's eyes widen as the fans immediately swarmed Y/N.
"WOAH, HEY!" Tom yelled out as he immediately dropped the pen that he was using and started to run over to where Y/N was. Or where she had been. His eyes widened, his heart starting to race as he couldn't see her in the seemingly endless crowd of screaming fans and paparazzi hungry for the ultimate money shot. Tom looked around desperately for security, his heart racing as he just knew that Y/N would probably be on the verge of a panic attack by now. He had to get to her, and he had to get her soon.
"Hey! Can I get some help over here!" He shouted as security started to run over, and Tom also tried to push through the crowd. But no matter how hard he was trying, the layers of people between him and his girlfriend seemed to stay put. Suddenly, the fans surrounding Y/N started to gasp.
"Oh my god, she's been knocked out." Tom heard one fan mumble. His eyes widened.
"Fuck." He gulped. He knew that he shouldn't have left her, even if he had been instructed to.
"Guys, let me past, come on, fucks' sake." Tom mumbled as he just about managed to push through. He got to the centre, his eyes widening as Y/N lay on the carpet, her eyes shut as she lay there.
"Oh my god-someone get a medic!" He yelled as he immediately collapsed on his knees beside her and gently pulled her into his arms.
"Love, can you hear me? Y/N, darling, come on." He gulped as he gently cupped her cheek. He looked up at the surrounding fans.
"What the fuck happened?" He scoffed.
"We don't know who, but someone punched her. No one saw who it was, though." One fan gulped. Tom scoffed and shook his head as he looked back down at his passed-out girlfriend. Both him and Y/N loved their fans, but he didn't like it when the few who did stuff like this took it too far.
"Everyone get back, give her space, come on." Tom scoffed as he continued trying to wake her up.
"Mr. Holland." He looked up and sighed in relief as security had started to clear a path in front of him to take Y/N directly into the theatre.
"Thank you." He nodded as he gently picked Y/N up bridal style, the girl's head lulling as he stood up and rushed her inside the building with security surrounding them.
Y/N's P.O.V
"Come on, love, you're okay, open your eyes." My eyebrows furrowed, a cold sensation against my forehead and something extremely strong-smelling seemingly being wafted underneath my nose as I started to come to. I groaned quietly, my lips parting and pain rushing through my face as my eyes fluttered open. They opened fully to see Tom looking over me, my boyfriend gulping as he looked over my face and gently wafted smelling salts underneath my nose.
"What happened? The last thing that I remember is the barriers coming down." I groaned and squeezed my eyes shut as it hurt my jaw to talk.
"The barriers came down, fans swarmed you and apparently, someone punched you hard enough to knock you out. It's absolutely ridiculous." Tom scoffed and shook his head as his hand soothingly rubbed against my non-sore cheek.
"Where are we now?" I mumbled, my eyes squeezing shut again in a wince as I started to sit up and Tom gently helped me, my hand still holding the cooling pack to my head.
"We're inside the theatre. After a lot of fighting through, I got to you and got you out of there. You're safe now, and organisers have said that once the premiere is done, we can go out a back way so that we don't get swarmed again. It'll be okay." He reassured me as he gently rubbed his hand up and down my back.
"I just can't believe that this happened. It was terrifying, anyway, they had me on the verge of a panic attack, but who punches a celebrity who they supposedly love?" I choked and shook my head.
"I know, sweetheart, it's really fucked up, but you're safe now. I'm just sorry that I wasn't there for you, I should have stayed with you." He sighed.
"That's not your fault, Tommy, we had to do our jobs." I reassured. He sighed again and nodded as he took my hand and kissed it.
"Okay, darling, now we have two options. You were obviously assaulted, so we are allowed to go home if you want. Or, we can stay and watch the movie." He nodded.
"No, Tommy, let's stay. This was meant to be a nice night out for us, once we got past the publicity bit, and we're safe now. Let's still watch the movie." I decided.
"Okay, love. But I'm not letting go of you for any of it." He smiled, making me chuckle and shake my head as he gently pulled me up from the sofa that I had been lying on.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." I teased, making his smile widen as he kissed my head and we headed into the theatre. Tom kept his promise of not letting me go, his arm wrapped around my waist for the entire movie. But being in his arms made me feel safe, especially after what had happened, and that was what mattered.
