Child of the mafia (Mob boss!AU, Tom Holland)
Requested by Bluecap_134: Y/N is married to mob boss Tom Holland, and they find out that they're expecting. From the moment that they find out, Tom gets protective of her and the baby.
I sat in Violet's nursery, my body in the rocking chair and my gaze glued to the beautiful baby girl that I was cradling in my arms. I bit my lip and looked down at her sleeping face, the month-old infant fast asleep as she chewed on her tiny fist. I raised my finger and gently stroked it across the perfect skin of her cheek, my heart swelling in love at the tiny and sleepy smile that my action produced from my daughter. I lived for moments like this with her, just sitting with her asleep in my arms for hours on end whilst we waited for her dad to get back from work. Her dad...who happened to be the boss of the most dangerous and notorious mob in London. I had been married to infamous gangster Tom Holland for four years now, our marriage having been something born out of contractual bindings that his family had to mine. We hated each other at first, but as it often went, we had fallen for each other soon after having gotten married, to the point where I was hopelessly in love with him, and he was hopelessly in love with me too. My pregnancy had been a relatively easy one, especially given the fact that I was married to such a dangerous man. My marriage to Tom meant that the second that he found out that I was pregnant, I had become the most protected woman in London.
Tom and I sat at our dining room table, my hand in his like it always was as we ate dinner. Though I couldn't really eat, I was too nervous about what I had to tell Tom. I knew that he'd be over the moon about my news, but this development hadn't been planned, and so there was always the worry that he'd think that we weren't ready yet. But of course, there was only one way to find out.
"So, yeah, I got the money back without having to kill his wife, which was a result obviously. You know how I hate killing loved ones." He chuckled and shook his head as he raised his glass of wine to his lips.
"Yeah, you do." I chuckled nervously and nodded in return. Tom looked at me.
"Darling, is something wrong?" He asked.
"Why would something be wrong, Tommy?" I shrugged as I tried to plead ignorance.
"You've just been acting weirdly all evening. You've barely touched your food, you've not had a single sip of wine, and you're nowhere near as talkative as you usually are. I can tell that something's wrong, you can tell me." He reassured as he soothingly squeezed my hand. I bit my lip and looked at him, my heart racing and my stomach flipping in anxiety as I realised that this was it. This was when I'd tell Tom that in six months, he'd be a dad.
"You're right. There's nothing wrong, but I do have something to tell you." I nodded.
"Course, sweetheart, what is it?" He encouraged. I gulped harshly and reached my hand into my sweatpant pocket, my fingers soon wrapping around the pregnancy test. I pulled it out and gently placed it on the table, making Tom's eyebrows furrow as he saw it. His eyes widened.
"Hold on...is that a pregnancy test?" he scoffed as he picked it up.
"Mhm." I nodded and bit my lip, my heart almost bursting out of my chest with how harshly it was racing as I eagerly awaited his reaction.
"And it's positive? You're pregnant, love?" He gulped, his eyes already glossing over as he looked at me. The issue was that I couldn't tell if they were happy or sad tears.
"I-I know that this wasn't planned, I know that we haven't really talked about kids yet, hell, I don't even know if you want them. But I don't think that this being unplanned is a bad thing. We've been married for three years, Tommy, we love each other and we're in a good place in life. I think that we're ready for this baby. I'm just hoping that you agree." I gulped. He scoffed and shook his head, his mouth hanging open as he looked at me.
"Darling, of course I agree! I'm so fucking happy, this is amazing!" He exclaimed. My eyes widened, a massive feeling of relief starting to wash over me as I got the reaction that I'd been desperately hoping for.
"Yeah? You mean that?" I smiled.
"Seriously, love, it's amazing! Oh my god, come here!" He laughed, making me return it as he leant forward and tightly hugged me. I returned the hug, tears of happiness and relief leaving my eyes as I held onto my husband for dear life. I didn't know why I'd ever been scared to tell him, after all, we loved each other enough to start a family, and so I should have known that he'd been over the moon. But knowing for certain made me feel amazing, and I already couldn't wait to have Tom's baby.
"I can't wait to meet our child, sweetheart. But you know that I'm going to have to set some ground rules to protect you from other mobs whilst you're pregnant. You know that, right?" He checked as he pulled away, but only to look at me instead as he cupped my cheek with his hand. I sighed and nodded.
"I know, Tommy, it's what I signed up for when I became your wife. I get it, I know that you'll only be doing it to protect me and the baby." I reassured.
"Good, because they're going to be harsh. Things like that you'll not be able to leave the house without a bodyguard, you'll need to carry a weapon at all times, and of course I'll be coming with you to every scan and check-up." He explained.
"The last one, I'd hope that you'd do even if you weren't a mob boss." I teased.
"Of course I would, sweetheart. God, I'm so fucking happy. We're having a baby!" He laughed and shook his head.
"I can't wait!" I squealed, making him laugh again as he leant in and kissed me.
I smiled and bit my lip at the memory of the night where I'd told Tom that we'd be having Violet. It was a night that would always live rent-free in my head, especially as it was a nice reminder of how far Tom, and I had come in our relationship. The fact that we had started off hating each other's guts and had been forced to marry each other, to the point where we were both genuinely happy that I'd be having his child. My smile dipped, anxiety started to creep into my stomach. I gulped harshly and gently slipped my finger into Violet's fist, the still asleep baby squeezing it as I looked down at her. Tears pricked my eyes as I looked at her, my stomach twisting. Because whilst my pregnancy had been easy medically, there had been a reason why Tom had gone to extra lengths to protect me. And on a few occasions, that had been needed.
I walked along the corridor in our mansion to Tom's study, my hand resting against my seven-months'-pregnant bump as I headed along. I gently knocked on the door and waited for a response.
"Come in." My husband's muffled voice sounded. I opened the door and walked in, Tom looking up from the paperwork on his desk as I did.
"Darling, hey. How's my absolutely glowing wife?" He smiled.
"I'm not glowing, I'm fat." I teased as I walked around to his side of the desk.
"Nonsense, my love, pregnancy suits you so well. Steve, doesn't she look beautiful?" Tom asked, making me chuckle as we both looked at the bodyguard by the door. His eyes widened.
"I-."
"You're right, don't answer that." Tom shook his head, making me playfully roll my eyes at him as I sat on the arm of his chair, and he curled his arm around my waist.
"Anyway, I came in here to remind you that my check-up is in an hour. We need to make sure that she's still healthy, and her daddy should be there for that too." I nodded as Tom raised his hand and gently rested it against my bump.
"I'll be there, love, don't worry. I'll get Haz to come and get you when I'm done, and then we'll go together." He reassured.
"Sounds perfect." I smiled, making my husband return it as I leant down and pecked his lips before easing myself back up.
"See you soon, my love." Tom spoke, making me squeal as he slapped my ass as I stood up.
"Behave, dirty man." I giggled. He smirked and winked at me, making me chuckle and shake my head as I wandered out of the office and back along the hallway. I puffed out as I rested my hands back against my bump, our daughter taking up more of my energy the closer that I got to my due date. I entered the foyer of the mansion, and that was when everything stopped. I gasped, my eyes widening as four men with guns were walking through our open front doors. The issue was that they weren't Tom's men.
"Don't move." The main one spat as they saw me and immediately pointed their guns at me. I gulped harshly, my hands protectively clutching my bump as my heart raced violently in my chest.
"I'm pregnant, please-."
"We can see that, if you and your baby want to live, you won't move." he snapped again, making me choke and nod as tears started to leave my eyes. My mind and heart were racing, the only thought in my head being that one bullet would be all that it took to kill me...and our unborn baby.
"Where's your husband?" The guy spat.
"I-in his study, please just let me go, I'm almost to term." I choked and shook my head.
"Do you really think that we're going to let the pregnant wife of the guy that we're after go? Fucking dumb bitch, take us to him now." he snapped.
"No need, I'm here." all of the men pointed their guns at Tom, who was wandering slowly out of the hallway with his hands raised. My eyes fluttered shut and an extremely shaky breath left my lips at the fact that their weapons were no longer pointed at my bump. Though, them being pointed at Tom wasn't much better.
"What the fuck do you want?! What's so important that you threaten my wife and child?" Tom spat.
"Simple, we want your logbooks. We get your logbooks, we get all of your clients and put you out of the game for good." The guy smirked. Tom's eyes widened.
"You threatened my pregnant wife to gain a tiny modicum of extra business?! I'm going to kill you with my bare fucking hands." Tom nodded.
"I'd like to see you try." The man spat in return. Tom smiled, making me gulp harshly and try not to cry even more than I already was as I tried to figure out what my husband had planned.
"Now, Haz." Tom spoke. My eyes widened as suddenly, Harrison appeared behind one of the guy's minions, my husband's right-hand man immediately putting a knife against the man's neck and slitting his throat as he did. I screamed as gunfire started to go off between the remaining men and Tom's men, though before I knew what was happening, Tom's body was over mine as he pushed me to the floor.
"It's okay, you're alright, love, I have you." Tom reassured, my eyes squeezed shut and my hands desperately covering my ears as I heard yells and gunfire. It stopped after a moment, my heart pounding and my hands frantically feeling my bump for any damage or wounds as the foyer went quiet. I gulped and looked up at Tom, my husband looking at me with concerned eyes as he slowly eased himself off of me.
"Are you okay, sweetheart? Are you both okay?" He gulped as he gently pulled me up and looked at my bump.
"I-I think so, I can f-feel her moving still." I choked, my heart still jumping and tears still leaving my eyes as I tried to comprehend the magnitude of what could have happened.
"Okay, good, good. I need to sort this asshole out, and then we'll go to your appointment and just double-check that she's okay, yeah?" He checked as he softly cupped my cheeks with his hands.
"Y-yeah." I nodded. He returned it and kissed my head, the loving action calming me down slightly before he let go of me. I gulped harshly and sat down on the stairs, my hands still holding my bump as I watched what was about to happen. All but one of the men had been killed by Harrison and Tom's men, the main guy fighting and struggling against Tom's guards as they held him down.
"Do you realise how fucking dumb it was to come to my home, to threaten my wife and child, just for some extra business? I'm going to mark your entire fucking mob for termination with your blood." Tom snapped as he walked to the man who was kneeling on the floor.
"Go fuck yourself, Holland." The guy spat. My husband shrugged and nodded before placing his hands on either side of the guy's head.
"You remember how I said that I would kill you with my bare hands?" Tom nodded.
"Fu-." Tom moved his hands quickly to turn the guy's head, the sickening sound of bone cracking as my husband broke the man's neck. His body went limp against the door, making Tom sigh as he stepped back to admire his work.
"Dump his body in the Thames. I don't want anyone to be able to find that piece of shit for the next ten years." He mumbled.
"Boss." Harrison nodded as Tom's guards dragged the body away, and Tom turned to look at me.
"I'm so sorry, darling. I don't know what happened, but as soon as I do, I'm fucking killing every guard who was supposed to be on the doors, and weren't. I'm so sorry." He choked and shook his head as I stood up and he cupped my face with his hands.
"It wasn't your fault, Tommy. Both of us know that you've done absolutely everything that you can to protect me and the baby during this whole pregnancy. You can't be blamed for one incident. Anyway, it's okay, I can feel her moving. I'm okay, and so is she." I reassured quietly. He gulped and nodded, a few tears slipping down his face as he pressed our foreheads together. We just stood there for a moment, both of us processing the fact that one wrong move could have resulted in both me and our daughter dying, just a few minutes ago. And I couldn't lie, that was fucking terrifying. But yet, here I still was. I was okay, I hadn't been hurt at all, and neither had our daughter. And that was what mattered. And, that was because of Tom.
"I love you so much, sweetheart. And I'll never stop protecting you or her." He mumbled as his thumbs gently stroked my cheeks.
"I love you too, Tommy. And I know. I love you for that." I reassured. He gave me a small smile before leaning down and pressing our lips together. I returned the kiss, my heart having slowed down and my mind now more relaxed at the fact that I knew that I'd always be safe in Tom's arms.
It had been a very difficult pregnancy in terms of the threat to me and our child given who I was married to, but it had all been worth it to be sitting here now, with mine and Tom's baby cradled in my arms. I continued to gently rock in the chair, tears pricking my eyes at how perfect our daughter was as she continued to peacefully sleep in my arms.
"Darling." I looked up and gave Tom a small smile as he appeared at the door to the nursery, his suit slightly dishevelled and his white dress shirt covered in dried blood as he appeared.
"I'm assuming that that's not your blood?" I checked quietly so that I didn't wake Violet.
"Course not, you know that I'll never come home covered in my own blood." He smiled, making me chuckle and shake my head as he walked into the room.
"How's my perfect little angel doing?" He asked quietly, a smile curling onto his lips as he walked towards us, and his eyes went straight to his daughter.
"She's amazing as always. Has had a very tiring day of sleeping and nursing off of mummy." I teased, making Tom chuckle and nod as he leant down. He gently wrapped his arms around her, my arms letting her go as Tom took her from me. He playfully gasped at her, his mouth hanging open as she fussed and whined quietly before settling in his arms.
"Hello, my darling. Daddy missed you so much today at work, just like he always misses you. Because you're his perfect little girl, aren't you? Yes you are, yes you are." He cooed and shook his head as he bobbed her up and down in his arms. I couldn't help but smile at the interaction as I stood up, my heart loving how Tom could go from a stone-cold and ruthless killer, to the softest guy in the world the second that he saw his daughter.
"We missed you too. The fear of you not coming home to us is worse now that she's here." I admitted, making Tom sigh and look at me over his shoulder as I curled my arms around his waist and rested my head against his bicep.
"I know that it is, sweetheart, but you know that I'll always come home to you and Violet. I'll never stop fighting to make it home to you two." He reassured.
"I know, Tommy, and I love you for it. I always will." I nodded.
"I love you too, darling. I love both of you. You two are my world." He returned before looking back at Violet again. I bit my lip and looked at her too, my head still resting against Tom's arm as we both just stood in awe of our perfect baby girl. The perfect baby girl that I had fought internally to protect, whilst Tom had fought externally. And together, we had been able to safely bring her into this world, and would continue to protect her for the rest of her life. I knew that Tom would never stop doing that, and that was just one reason why I loved him so much.
