The pregnancy (Husband / dad!AU, Tom Holland)
Requested by Mattiaslittlegirl: Can you make a story where the reader is pregnant and when the baby is born?
One month
"Hey, everyone." I smiled, my voice quiet so that Tom wouldn't hear me as I started the Instagram live stream. The nerves started to set in as the numbers poured in. That was the advantage of being Tom Holland's wife, though.
"So, Tom and I have kept this just between family and friends since we announced it, due to the fact that it's very personal. But for the last half a year, we've actually been trying for a baby." I admitted as I tried to keep my smile from growing even more.
"I'm telling you guys now because I think that it's finally happened. I'm pregnant, and about to go show Tom this!" I squealed in excitement as I showed the camera the positive pregnancy test.
"Here we go." I nodded, opening the bedroom door and creeping out. My heart was in my stomach, nerves running through me at the fact that I was not only pregnant, but was about to tell Tom in front of what was now hundreds of thousands of people. I knew that he wouldn't mind, though. He'd probably even think that it was a fun pregnancy reveal after I told him.
"Babe?" I called out as I wandered through the house.
"Yeah?" he yelled back. I walked into the living room, making him look up and smile as he sat on the sofa.
"I'm doing a live stream, and everyone wants you to say hi." I lied.
"Oh, awesome, let's have a look." he chuckled. I returned it and bit my lip as I sat down on his lap, his arms wrapping around my waist as he looked at the screen.
"Hey, everyone, how's it going?" he smiled into the camera.
"Tommy, I actually started this live stream for a reason. I need to show you something." I nodded. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked up at me.
"What do you need to show me, babe?" he chuckled nervously. I bit my lip as I raised the pregnancy test. Tom's eyes immediately widened, his smile dropping as he took it from me.
"No way...no fucking way, is this right?" he asked as he looked back at me.
"Yeah. I've got three more positive tests in the bathroom." I nodded. The smile immediately spread back onto his lips, making me laugh as he hugged me tightly.
"You're pregnant! We did it, we're actually having a baby!" he laughed. I squealed and returned the laugh as I tried to hold the camera still.
"Surprise!" I exclaimed.
"This is amazing!" he smiled before leaning in and pressing our lips together. I returned the kiss, smiling into it as we started the celebrations for the pregnancy.
Five months
"You said that you don't want to know, so I guess that that's final." I huffed, holding my bump as I walked away from Tom.
"Of course I want to know, Y/N, but right now I'm just more focused on making sure that the baby is healthy. Why does their sex matter as long as we know that they're healthy?" he scoffed as he followed me through the house. I rolled my eyes as I turned around to face him. Since I was now in the second trimester of my pregnancy, Tom and I could find out what sex our baby was going to be. The issue was that I wanted to know, but Tom didn't. And we'd been fighting for weeks about it.
"Of course I care more about their health, don't you dare suggest that I don't. But I also see benefits in finding out. We can be more prepared with names, more prepared in terms of clothing and decorating stuff. It just makes sense to find out." I insisted.
"I don't care about being more prepared for their arrival, I care about them being healthy and not finding out until they're here." he retorted. I bit my lip.
"Don't come to the scan tomorrow, then." I shrugged as I tried to hide the tears that were pricking my eyes. Tom's eyes widened.
"What?" he scoffed.
"I'll find out tomorrow, you won't, that's the fairest way to handle it." I nodded.
"No! I made it clear from the start that I was going to be here for you throughout the pregnancy, I'm not going to miss a scan over a stupid argument!" he exclaimed.
"Don't come, Tom, that's how we handle this." I shrugged again as I turned back around and headed back towards the bedroom.
"Y/N, darling, come on." he sighed, making me roll my eyes as I walked into the bedroom and slammed the door.
I lay in bed, my back facing the door as tears rolled down my face. I hated fighting with Tom, especially in a time that we were meant to be closer than ever. I definitely didn't want to be fighting in the run-up to the baby's arrival. I opened my eyes as I heard the door open and then close. Tom climbed into bed next to me, making me smile slightly as his arm curled over my waist and his hand rested protectively on my bump like it always did.
"Sweetheart?" he mumbled.
"Hmm?" I returned. He sighed.
"I'll come with you tomorrow. I want to know." he admitted quietly. I choked, more tears leaving my eyes as I rolled over so that we were facing each other.
"Are you sure, Tommy?" I gulped.
"I'm sure. I don't care about knowing the sex, but I can see how much finding out means to you. And I promised to be by your side for the entire nine months, so that's where I'll be." he reassured. I choked and nodded before leaning in and pressing our lips together. He returned it, gently holding my face as he smiled into it. He broke the kiss and looked at me.
"Let's get to bed, baby needs sleep." he smiled, making me jokingly roll my eyes as I rolled back over, Tom's hand landing back on my bump.
"The baby just uses my sleep instead." I teased. Tom chuckled and nodded, resting his face in my hair as our eyes fluttered shut.
Eight months
Tom stopped the car in front of his parents house and looked at me.
"You ready?" he asked as he placed his hand on my thigh.
"You mean am I ready to get pampered and spoiled silly by your parents? Fuck yes." I scoffed. He laughed and nodded as he got out of the car, shutting the door as I undid my seat belt. Ever since we told Tom's parents and brothers that we were expecting, they'd doted on me non-stop. Especially Nikki. Even before I was showing, I was subject to relaxation and absolutely no helping with meals or cleaning up whilst we were at their house. And I had to admit, I liked it that way. Now that doting attitude was needed more than ever, considering that with a month to go, my bump was so out there that I couldn't even see my own feet anymore. The car door opened and Tom extended a hand to me. I took it and puffed out as he pulled me out of the car.
"Oof, you're heavy." he teased. I gasped and lightly slapped his chest, making him laugh.
"Wait until I tell your mother that you said that." I nodded. He smirked and kissed my head, his hand on my lower back walking me up the path. The door opened, making me smile at Nikki as she appeared.
"Y/N, hey! How are you feeling?" she smiled at me as we hugged.
"I feel very fat, and just about ready to give birth." I joked, making her and Tom laugh as we moved into the house.
"I know that there's only a month left, but don't wish the time away. As soon as the baby is here, you'll miss being pregnant." she nodded.
"So I've been told." I smiled. She returned it as we all headed into the living room.
"So, any new baby news?" Sam asked as we all sat around Tom's parents' living room. Tom and I looked at each other.
"You want to tell them?" I smiled, hands resting on my bump as Tom gently rubbed my feet that were on his lap.
"Tell us what? Is the baby okay?" Nikki gulped.
"Baby is fine, mum, don't worry. The news is that she finally has a name." Tom admitted. Everyone's eyes widened.
"Tell us." Paddy urged.
"Esme Nichola Holland." he nodded.
"Aw, that's a lovely name." Harry smiled.
"It really is. God, I'm even more excited to meet her now!" Nikki squealed, making Tom and I chuckle.
"Trust me, so are we." I smiled. Tom returned it and bit his lip as he put his hand on my knee.
Nine and a half months
"I want this baby out of me!" I whined as I lay on the sofa, my hands on my bump and my feet on Tom's lap. He chuckled and looked at me as he rested his hand on my knee.
"I know that you do, sweetheart. Surely, it won't be too long now. Surely." he scoffed. I sighed and bit my lip as I looked at him.
"There's one thing on the list that we didn't try." I nodded. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked at his phone.
"Is there? We went for a walk, we ate hot food, we tried the oil-." he stopped reading and he rolled his eyes to look at me as he realised.
"Please tell me that you're not suggesting sex to induce labour. That's exactly how we ended up here." he teased, making me groan loudly and lull my head back against the sofa arm.
"I'm horny and she's two weeks late now, it's the perfect solution to both of the problems." I shrugged.
"No. I'm not doing that to our child, especially when the hospital said that they'd induce you if she hasn't come by tomorrow night." he chuckled. I sighed and pouted, making Tom tease me with a fake-pout as his phone started to ring. He looked at it before accepting the call.
"Hey, mum." he sighed. He looked at me, making me return the gaze.
"Nope, absolutely no movement yet. We'll let you know the moment that Y/N feels anything, okay? Alright, mum, sleep well." he nodded before hanging up.
"See? Even your mum is worried." I sighed.
"She's not worried, darling, she just knows what it's like to have a pregnancy last for longer than it's meant to. My brothers and I were all late." he admitted. My eyes widened at him.
"Are you saying that it runs in your family? I fucking wish that I'd known that before I let you knock me up!" I exclaimed, making him laugh.
"Okay, sweetheart, I think that it's time for bed. I'm worried that if you don't sleep soon, you'll pull the baby out yourself." he teased as he stood up and outstretched his hands to me.
"That would be better than another day of her crushing my bladder." I mumbled, making Tom smile and kiss my head as he pulled me up.
My eyes shot open as I felt something trickle down my legs. My eyebrows furrowed as I sat up and turned the bedside table light on, waking Tom up in the process.
"What's going on?" he mumbled with a raspy voice as he looked around with furrowed eyebrows. My eyes widened as I saw the clear wet patch on the sheets.
"It's happening, Tom. My water just broke." I stated. His eyes widened and he immediately shot out of bed.
"Okay, sweetheart, this is it. Can you feel any contractions yet?" he asked as he pulled a shirt on before grabbing our hospital bag that had been packed for weeks now.
"I think so, my bump is already starting to feel tighter." I nodded, holding my bump as I eased myself up and off of the bed. Tom nodded and grabbed his phone before pressing some buttons and putting it to his ear.
"Hey, mum, sorry, I know that it's early, but Y/N's gone into labour. You and dad want to meet us at the hospital? Great, okay, we're leaving now." he spoke before hanging up.
"You okay, darling?" he asked as he rushed to me and wrapped one arm around my waist before letting me grip his other hand.
"I'm ready to meet our daughter." I smiled. He returned it and kissed my head as he helped me out of the bedroom.
I lay in the hospital bed, cradling our baby girl as Tom sat on the chair next to me.
"Welcome to the world, beautiful girl." he cooed softly, making me smile and bite my lip at our beautiful daughter as tears rolled down my face.
"She has your eyes, Tommy." I whispered. He stood up and leant over me so that he could see her more.
"Oh, yeah, she does." he chuckled as he sat back down. He looked at me.
"You okay? You haven't stopped crying since she was born." he stated. I bit my lip and looked at him.
"Your mum was right. I already miss being pregnant." I admitted.
"Aw, love." he chuckled as he raised his hand and gently wiped the tears away with his thumb.
"It's okay, though, because we've waited so long for this. We're finally parents, we're finally the one thing that we always wanted to be. And I wouldn't change that for the world." I choked and shook my head. Tom nodded, giving me a small smile as he kissed my spare hand.
"And who knows, we can have more kids. Who says that in a year or two, when we're used to looking after Esme, who's to say that we can't get pregnant again? That you can't experience that again?" he smiled.
"I'd love that. But for now, she's enough. She's everything." I shook my head. Tom smiled and climbed into the bed next to me, making me rest my head on his shoulder. He kissed my head, both of us in utter bliss as we relished being in the company of each other, and our beautiful baby girl.
