The accident (Tom Holland)

Requested by horsesarelife17: Tom is on set for a movie doing a stunt, when everything goes wrong and he gets badly hurt

Tom, Harrison, Zendaya and I stood on the set for the third "Spiderman" movie, Tom's arm around my waist and his body clad in his Spiderman suit as he waited to film the next scene.

"Tommy, are you sure that this is safe?" I gulped, looking up at the apparatus that was suspended at least twenty-five feet into the air. The apparatus that Tom would be connected to.

"Of course, darling. I've done stunts on this apparatus a hundred times before, and I've always been fine. You worry too much." He chuckled as he gently kissed my head.

"It's because you don't worry, so I worry enough for the both of us." I teased. He smirked and shook his head.

"Tom, we're ready for you!" one of the Russo brothers called.

"Alright!" he shouted back before turning to me.

"I'll be fine, okay? I love you." He nodded.

"I love you too." I sighed before leaning up and kissing him. He returned it, holding my cheek before breaking the kiss and smiling at me before heading towards the crash mats that sat underneath the apparatus.

"I'll be fine, okay? I love you." He nodded.

"I love you too." Y/N sighed before leaning up and kissing him. He returned it, holding his girlfriend's soft cheek before breaking the kiss and smiling at her before heading towards the crash mats.

"You ready to hook me up, Steve?" he smiled at the guy who operated the apparatus.

"You know it." He returned. Tom chuckled and nodded, raising his arms so that Steve could clip the belt around his waist. He looked down, his eyebrows furrowing as one of the clips that attached the wires to the belt seemed to be rusting.

"Steve, when's the last time that this belt was checked?" he asked, looking at the man.

"A few days ago. Why?" he returned.

"This clip is rusty. It shouldn't be rusty." He shook his head.

"It's fine, they rust sometimes. You don't need to worry, that clip will be good for another six months." He reassured. Tom sighed and nodded, though a slightly uneasy feeling still sat in his chest as Steve moved off of the crash mat.

"You ready, Tom?" one of the Russo brothers called.

"Let's do this." He nodded as he pulled his mask onto his head and over his face. The Russo brothers returned the nod before the apparatus started to pull Tom up. He looked at Y/N, a worried look adorning her beautiful face as he continued to rise. Tom was sure that there was nothing to worry about, but doubt had been planted into his mind-.

Suddenly, one of the clips on Tom's belt snapped, making him groan out as he was jolted onto his side. Everyone's eyes widened and panicked gasps and murmurs started to spread.

"Get me down now, the other one's about to snap!" Tom yelled.

"We're trying, don't move-." The other clip snapped, making Tom yell out and everyone gasp as he started to fall the twenty-five feet towards the mats.

"Let's do this." Tom nodded as he pulled his mask onto his head and over his face. The Russo brothers returned the nod before the apparatus started to pull Tom up. He looked at me, a worried look surely plastered onto my face as he continued to rise. Suddenly, one of the clips on Tom's belt snapped, making him groan out as he was jolted onto his side. Everyone's eyes widened, a choke leaving my lips and panicked gasps and murmurs starting to spread throughout the crew. This was bad.

"Get me down now, the other one's about to snap!" Tom yelled.

"We're trying, don't move-." The other clip snapped, making Tom yell out and everyone gasp as he started to fall the twenty-five feet towards the mats. Everyone gasped again as Tom's body hit the mats, making my eyes widen.

"TOM!" I screamed as I started running towards him.

"Get the medics here now!" the director yelled as Harrison, Zendaya and I scrambled up onto the mats.

"Tommy, oh my god, babe." I choked as I collapsed on my knees next to him. I pulled his mask off, revealing his eyes scrunched up in pain and his teeth grit together.

"Shit, Y/N, there's a shooting pain moving up and down my spine, and I can't feel my legs." He choked. My eyes widened further, a tear leaving my eye as the magnitude of what Tom had just said started to sink in.

"It's going to be okay, you're going to be fine." I nodded as I gently stroked his hair.

"Please stay with me, I don't want you to go." He choked and shook his head.

"I'm not going anywhere." I promised as the medics collapsed on their knees next to me.

"Okay, Tom, I need you to stay really still okay, you could have damaged your spine from the fall." One nodded.

"I think that it is damaged, I can't feel my legs or feet." He gulped.

"Okay, this is what we're going to do. We're going to give you a sedative to help you sleep, because getting you off of this mat without causing more damage will be easier if you're knocked out. Is that okay, Tom?" the other medic asked.

"Do whatever you can to give me the best chance of walking again." He choked. I bit my lip, tears flowing out of my eyes as Tom looked at me.

"Darling, I'm scared." He cried.

"I know that you are, babe. I am too. But you're going to be okay. We'll get you the best surgeons, the best doctors, the best everything." I reassured as I gently took his hand into mine. He gulped and nodded before the medic gently placed the needle into Tom's arm. He let out a quiet hiss at the feeling but his eyelids soon started to grow heavy as he looked at me.

"I love...you..." he mumbled before his eyes fluttered shut and his body went limp. I choked out, holding onto Zendaya for dear life as she wrapped her arms around me.

"He's going to be okay, babe. Especially with you by his side." She reassured. I gulped and nodded as they gently placed Tom onto a spine board before carefully carrying him off of the mats.

~Two weeks later~

I walked into Tom's hospital room with two coffees and gave him a small smile.

"Mm, thank you, darling. Being told that I can have coffee again is the best news that I've had all week." He chuckled as he took it from me.

"Not the news that your surgery was successful?" I teased, sitting down in a chair next to his bed and placing my free hand into his.

"Okay, second best news." He smiled, making me return it. Suddenly the door opened again, making us both look towards it as Tom's surgeon walked in.

"Hey, Dr Nichols." He smiled.

"Hi, Tom. How are you feeling?" she returned.

"A lot better. I can wiggle my big toe now." He chuckled, making both of us return it.

"I'm glad that you're feeling optimistic. You should do, there's every indication that you'll make a full recovery. But, I do need to make you aware of the time scale of that." She admitted. My smile dipped, as did Tom's as he looked at me.

"Sorry, doctor, what exactly do you mean by that?" I asked as I stood up. She sighed and looked between us before settling her gaze on Tom.

"You're going to get better, Tom, I guarantee that. But it's going to take months, maybe even years before your legs are at full function again." She spoke. I choked, a tear leaving my eye as Tom's eyes wavered.

"What exactly are you saying, Dr Nichols?" he gulped. She looked at him.

"I'm saying that your job as an actor is over, at least for the next year or so." She nodded. Tom choked, tears immediately spilling from his eyes as he looked at me.

"Doctor, apart from my girlfriend, acting is all that I have. I'm nothing if I can't act." He choked.

"That's not true, Tommy." I shook my head.

"I know that what I've just told you is very hard, so I'll leave you and your girlfriend to process it. Let me know when you're ready to talk, and then we can start discussing rehabilitation routes." She nodded.

"Thank you, doctor. For everything." I gulped. She gave me a small smile before glancing at Tom and leaving the room. I choked and looked down before sitting back next to Tom.

"Tommy, I'm so sorry. But you can do this. It's not over yet." I tried to reassure him.

"Of course it is, Y/N. If I can't act for a year, I'll lose jobs, I'll lost my reputation, I'll lose the will to want to go back." He cried and shook his head.

"Babe, you're the biggest young name in movies right now, no one is going to forget your reputation. Not to mention that everyone understands your situation. Everyone is on your side and there are tons of directors and actors saying that they can't wait to get back to working with you once you're better." I spoke.

"What if I don't get better? O-or, what if..." he choked and looked down. My eyebrows furrowed and I took his hand again.

"What is it, Tommy?" I asked gently. He gulped and looked back up at me.

"What if I can't do stunts anymore? What if they go to attach me to the wires and I start panicking?" he choked. I sighed as I realised what he was saying.

"You're scared that the damage isn't just physical." I stated. He looked at me with red and puffy eyes.

"That moment where I started falling, I was scared, Y/N. My life flashed before my eyes. That was the first fall that I've ever done where I knew that no one would catch me, and that terrified me. In that instant, I thought about all of the things I didn't get the chance to do. I haven't bought another dog, I haven't asked you to marry me, we haven't had a child. I just, in that moment, I realised everything that I wanted to do, and I realised that I really didn't want to die." He choked and shook his head as tears streamed down his face. I nodded and bit my lip, tears also making my skin wet as I gripped his hand.

"I know that you were scared, Tommy, I'd be worried if that hadn't made you scared. But you survived. You're going to be okay, but you need to work towards getting better. And if that includes you going to therapy for your mental health as well as your physical health, that's okay. That's nothing to be ashamed of, Tommy, and anyone who says that it is doesn't know what they're talking about. There is nothing wrong with admitting that you were scared. And there is nothing wrong with getting help for what happened." I nodded. He gulped and returned it as he looked at me.

"I'll do it. Both physical and psychological therapy. But I want you by my side, for all of it." He choked.

"I'm not going anywhere, babe. I'm here to stay." I promised. He choked again and gave me a small smile before leaning in and kissing me.

~Two years later~

Tom and I sat in the limo as it drove us to the premier of the third "Spiderman" movie. I looked at Tom, a sigh leaving my red lips as he looked absolutely terrified. After Tom's accident two years ago, he'd agreed with the Russo brothers that he'd continue to film the movie as Spiderman once he had recovered, but that they'd get a stunt double to do his stunts. That had given him a little pick-me-up, but it had still been a long two years of recovery. Tom had been in physical therapy for hours a week, learning how to fully walk again, all whilst also seeing a therapist for the psychological trauma that he had picked up due to the fall. There had been a lot of nights where I had been woken up by Tom screaming because he'd had a nightmare about what had happened, and a lot of days where my back ached from having Tom lean on me during physical therapy. But it had all come down to this. Tom had decided that the premier was the perfect time to show the world that he could walk again, and he wanted me to be by his side.

"You okay, Tommy?" I asked. He gulped and looked at me.

"Yeah, um, just hoping that I won't fall flat on my face." He chuckled, but I could tell that it was forced as the limo stopped.

"You won't, babe. You got this." I reassured. He took a deep breath and nodded before taking my hand.

"Let's go." He smiled, making me return it as he opened the door.

"Tom, Y/N! Over here!" the paparazzi yelled, the camera flashes blinding me immediately as Tom climbed out of the limo before extending a hand to me. I took it and let him pull me out before giving him a reassuring smile. He returned it and nodded as he wrapped his arm around my waist and we started to walk the red carpet, though a little slower than usual so that Tom would feel comfortable. We stopped on the bit of the carpet made so that paparazzi could get photos and smiled at the cameras, Tom's arm around my waist still holding me into his body.

"Tom, over here! Give your girlfriend a kiss for us!" one yelled, making us laugh and look at each other. Tom leant down and joined our lips, me returning it as I held his face and the cameras flashed relentlessly.

"Tom, you're walking great! Tell us about the accident and your recovery process!" another reporter yelled. Tom's smile dipped slightly, making me look at him.

"You don't have to, you know." I reassured. He sighed and nodded, giving me a small smile before looking back up at the reporters and paparazzi.

"As everyone knows, two years ago, I had an accident on the set of this "Spiderman" movie. I was doing a stunt when the clips on the belt that held me up broke and I fell twenty-five feet. I was temporarily paralysed by the fall but due to the amazing efforts of Dr Nichols and her surgery team at the London Infirmary, I was told that with therapy, I would make a full recovery. And as you can see, I can walk." He smiled, making me return it as everyone cheered and clapped.

"I do have to thank another person, though. My amazing girlfriend, Y/N." he nodded as he looked down at me. I bit my lip and smiled at him.

"She's never left my side over the last two years, even when I had some very dark moments of just wanting to give up. She never left, she never faltered in her support for her, and she's honestly one of the reasons that I can walk again. I owe her everything." He nodded. I returned the stare, trying not to cry as I leant up and kissed him again. Tom smiled into it, more camera flashes capturing the moment before I broke the kiss.

"Does this mean that we can expect wedding bells soon?!" one reporter yelled.

"Maybe, we'll see." Tom admitted, giving the cameras one last smile before moving us towards the entrance of the cinema. I looked up at him.

"Did you mean that? That there may be wedding bells soon?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled.

"I meant every word." He admitted. I bit my lip and smiled, Tom kissing my head as we went in to watch the premier.
