Surprise (Tom Holland)

Requested by StillWritingUsername: "Can you do a Tom imagine where you have a kid with Tom, but then break up and don't tell him about it, and then he finds out later?"

I sat on the icy tiled floor of my bathroom, tears pouring down my face as I stared blankly at the wall that I was sat opposite. My eyes flicked to the three positive pregnancy tests that lay next to me, my mind not wanting to believe that this was actually happening. Maybe I'd accidentally bought three prank kits instead of real ones. Maybe I'd somehow stolen a pregnant woman's pee and forgotten that it wasn't mine when doing the tests. I groaned and buried my face into my hands as I knew that those thoughts were stupid. I was pregnant, and there was no getting around it. I sniffed and rose to my feet, looking briefly at my tired reflection in the mirror as I grabbed my phone and clicked on "contacts". I scrolled through, gulping as I stopped at the name of the father. Tom Holland, my ex-boyfriend. I gulped, feeling sick just at the thought of having to see him again. Sure, I had been in love with him, but our two-year relationship had ended badly when we had had a massive fight about him being away all of the time and how I felt like I wasn't even dating him anymore, both of us yelling horrible things, including him shouting that I shouldn't have dated him in the first place if I couldn't handle the distance. I sighed, knowing that if I was going to keep this baby, or even not keep it, I had to tell him. I took a deep breath before typing out a text and pressing "send".

Hours had passed since I had texted Tom, and I had heard nothing. I paced nervously in my living room, biting on my nail as I waited for him to arrive. Or waited for him to not come at all, I didn't what to expect at this point. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, making me stop in my tracks and look at the wooden structure. I took a deep breath and swallowed my nerves before walking to it and opening the door. Tom stood there, hands in his leather jacket pockets and in his usual attire of black jeans, a white t-shirt and gelled hair. We had been separated for two months now and somehow he looked even better than he did when we broke up, which I didn't think would be possible.

"Hey." He mumbled, his slightly clenched jaw and straight face telling me that he really didn't want to be here.

"Hey, um...come in." I gulped as I stepped to the side. He nodded and looked down as he wandered in, looking around my apartment as he did.

"You might want to take a seat, Tom, I need to talk to you." I spoke, trying to keep my voice steady. He looked at me.

"Oh, so now you want to talk? Only took you until the end of our relationship." He scoffed. My eyes widened slightly.

"And what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" I returned his scoff.

"You know what it means. It means that you never said a word about our issues until using them to break up with me." He nodded.

"Tom, don't lie to yourself, you knew that there were issues, long before we broke up, yet did you do anything to help them? No." I spat, making his eyes widen.

"I did everything to help, what the fuck are you on about?! I constantly took breaks from filming that I couldn't really afford to take because you felt lonely, I flew you out countless times because I couldn't get off of work but still wanted to see you, fuck, Y/N, I even rented you a fucking house in LA so that you could be close to me, so don't you stand there and say that I did nothing to help!" he yelled. I scoffed and shook my head, looking down to avoid his gaze.

"Look, I didn't invite you over to fight, I actually need to talk to you." I spoke.

"Out with it, then? What's so important that you HAVE to tell me?" he spat. I'm pregnant, I thought as I looked back up at him. But I was not prepared for the look that I saw on Tom's face. It was one that I had never seen on him before, a look filled with pure hatred and anger. Pure hatred and anger for me.

"You know what? It's nothing." I shook my head. Tom scoffed and clenched his jaw as he nodded.

"Well, thanks, Y/N. All I wanted to do with my Saturday was drive for half an hour to have a fight with my ex-girlfriend. Have a nice life." He nodded before striding to my door and flinging it open.

"Tom-." He walked out and slammed the door, making me choke and bite my lip as tears formed in my eyes.

That was the story of how I had ended up here, three hours into labour in a random London hospital, and with Tom still clueless to the fact that I was even pregnant, let alone about to give birth to his child. I squeezed my eyes shut, clutching my bump and screaming out as another contraction hit.

"You got this, honey, you can do this, breathe through it." My mum cooed, kissing my head as she clutched my hand. I took a deep breath, a thin layer of sweat glistening against my skin as the contraction ended.

"Honey, I really think it's time to call-."

"Don't even go there." I gulped, holding my bump and making mum sigh.

"Babe, Tom is the father of your child, the child that you're literally about to have. I appreciate that things between you didn't end well, but he deserves to know that he's about to be a dad. Hell, he had the right to help you decide what to do when you found out, but we're far past that, so you need to tell him now." She nodded. I sighed and looked down.

"I can't, mum. He's going to hate me even more than he already does, and that's the last thing I want." I choked.

"Honey, I know things aren't great between you, but it's pretty much impossible for any man to hate the mother of his child. You guys are bonded for life, now. He won't hate you, I promise." She reassured. I sighed and looked down, a tear falling from my eye as I begrudgingly grabbed my phone off of the bedside table and handed it to her.

"His number is saved under "asshole ex number three"." I mumbled. Mum chuckled and kissed my head before leaving my maternity suite.

Tom's P.O.V

Tom stood in his kitchen, drying his dishes and putting them away as he watched Tessa play with her toys.

"You want breakfast, Tess?" he asked, chuckling as she barked in response.

"Yeah, I thought so." He smiled as he gently patted her head and went to get her food from the cupboard. Suddenly, his phone started to buzz in his pocket. He pulled it out, his eyes widening slightly as Y/N's name, photo and number were on the screen. He sighed and pressed the green button as he put the phone to his ear.

"Hey, long time, no hear." He mumbled as he grabbed the food bag.

"Tom, it's Y/M/N, Y/N's mum." Tom's eyebrows furrowed and he put the food down.

"Um, hey, Mrs Y/L/N...everything okay?" he asked slowly.

"Yeah, but here's the thing. Y/N is at St George's hospital." She spoke. Tom's eyes widened.

"Oh, god, is she okay?" he asked.

"She's fine, but, um...she's in labour, Tom." She admitted. Tom's eyebrows furrowed again.

"Okay, but what does that have to do with-." Tom stopped speaking as he realised. His eyes widened again, and he went weak at the knees, his brain working out the maths of the situation for him.

"It's my baby, isn't it?" he managed to get out, his eyes wavering and a sick feeling forming in his stomach.

"I'm so sorry, Tom. I've been telling her to tell you since she found out, but she always found it hard, and always gave an excuse as to why she couldn't tell you and then, well, now it's too late." She sighed. Tom nodded to himself as he pinched the bridge of his nose and squeezed his eyes shut. Now it all made sense. The last time Tom had seen Y/N was when she had invited him over to her house to talk, nine months ago. That must have been what she wanted to tell him. But of course, Tom had to start a fight and scare her out of telling him, he felt so stupid in hindsight. And now, he had just hours, possibly less, to prepare to be a dad.

"Tom, you still there?" Y/N's mum asked, snapping Tom back into reality.

"Yeah, I am. Um, tell Y/N that I'll be there as soon as possible, and tell her to hang in there, I'm on my way." He nodded, grabbing his jacket and shoving his keys and wallet into his pockets as he rushed out of the door.

Y/N's P.O.V

I sat in the hospital bed, cradling my baby boy in my arms as I stared down at him. I bit my lip and smiled, trying to stop the tears at how perfect he was. Not that I was all that surprised, he was Tom's son after all. As if on cue, the door burst open, making me look up as Tom ran in.

"Oh my god, I came as soon as I heard." He gulped, his gaze immediately falling on the baby cradled in my arms. I returned his gulp, waiting to see his reaction as he slowly walked towards the bed, his eyes glued to his child.

"Is that...i-is that my..."

"Yeah, Tom. It's your son." I nodded. He immediately choked, his eyes wavering as tears started to fall from them.

"Can I hold him?" he asked. I nodded again as I sat up, starting to extend my arms. Tom met me halfway, his lips curling into a smile as he took our baby into his arms.

"Hey there, little guy. Oh my god, look at you, you're adorable!" he laughed before looking at me. I couldn't help but smile, grateful that Tom was clearly already in love with his child.

"He's perfect, Y/N, absolutely perfect." He nodded, sniffing as he gently placed our son back into my arms.

"He is half you, so I'm not surprised." I chuckled, making Tom smile.

"Scoot over, we need to talk." He nodded. I gulped, my smile dipping as I moved over in the small hospital bed. Tom got in bed next to me, the size of the bed meaning that I was now lying against his chest.

"So, you've had nine months to tell me that you were pregnant. Why did I have to find out an hour before he was here?" he mumbled, gently combing his hand through my hair. I sighed and looked up at him.

"Tom, you know that we didn't break up well. As far as I was aware, you hated me, and I wanted to keep the baby, so I was afraid that you'd not want a permanent link between us, and that you'd not want our son." I choked. Tom sighed and looked at me.

"I get that we didn't break up well, but I never hated you. And I did have a right to know." He scoffed.

"I know, I know, there are approximately a million different ways that I could have handled this better." I admitted. Tom chuckled and nodded.

"Well, just know that I'm here for you one hundred percent. I know that my career contributed to the end of our relationship, but I'm here all the way for this little guy. I want to be in his life." He spoke gently. I looked up at him and smiled.

"Good, I'd like that a lot." I nodded. He returned it before looking at our baby, me also returning my gaze to his small, sleeping face.

"So, what do you want to call him?" I asked.

"How about...Peter?" he asked. I looked up at him.

"You want to name our son after your biggest role? That is the most egotistical thing I've ever heard." I chuckled, making him laugh.

"I'm only joking. Well, all of my brothers' names are also out of the mix because otherwise, my other brothers will get upset, so Sam, Harry and Paddy are also not okay." He sighed.

"We've got time to have a think." I nodded. Tom returned it and gently kissed my head before looking back at our perfect son.
