Spider-Girl (Peter Parker)

Requested by CrazyCatTeen35: Peter holds onto the spider that bit him. Y/N finds it and she lets it out, getting bitten in the process

Peter's P.O.V

"Jesus, fuck." Peter hissed quietly, sucking on the spider bite that sat on his hand as he quickly rushed to his apartment and dug his keys out of his bag. He knew that going down into the abandoned subway tunnels was a bad idea, but he didn't even listen to himself anymore. At least he had only been bitten by a spider, there were probably worse things down there that could have taken a shot at the Queens boy. Though, the bite really hurt. Peter unlocked his apartment door and rushed in, hoping not to get spotted by May as he shut the door and rushed to his room.

"Peter, is that you?" his eyes widened as he rushed into his room and closed the door slightly.

"Yeah, May, give me five minutes, I don't feel too good!" he yelled from behind the door.

"Oh, you okay, honey? You want some chicken soup?" she asked.

"I'll be fine, thank you, though!" he responded, his eyes squeezed shut and his head against the door as he tried to get her to stop. He sighed in relief as he didn't get a response, his hand shutting the door before he rushed to his desk. He sighed and opened his bag, his eyes landing on the jar that Mr Delmar had given to him on his usual trip to get a sandwich. Mr Delmar usually saved jars and stuff for him, as the kind man knew that Peter could use them for science projects. But this jar would be used to trap the spider that had bitten him. Peter took the jar out and looked at the spider, the insect running around the inside of the closed glass.

"Why did you bite me, huh? And why does it hurt so much?" he mumbled, squinting his eyes at the spider. After all, after catching the spider, Peter had checked immediately if it was poisonous, but it didn't seem to match the description of any poisonous spider. Not that it mattered, he was bitten now. Peter sighed and shook his head, a slight ringing starting in his ear as he put the jar down on the table.

"What the fuck?" he mumbled to himself, gently tapping his ear to try and clean it out before standing out.

"Maybe I am actually sick." He sighed as he opened his door and went out to see May.

That had been a year ago. Turns out that Peter hadn't just been sick. Mere hours after having been bitten by the radioactive spider that had made him into Spider-Man, he had started to hear and see more things than he usually did, the ringing in his ear having gotten increasingly worse until he could literally hear everything for a ten-block radius. And then, he had started to stick to things. Luckily, he was on Tony Stark's radar within a few months and here he was, a year later, with an amazing job, an amazing girlfriend...and that damn spider still on his desk.

"Hey, buddy." Peter chuckled at the spider as he opened the jar and slipped a few pill bugs in before sealing the jar back up. He watched as the spider ate them happily, his gaze moving down as his phone buzzed on the table.

Y/N: Usual meeting time? :) x

Peter: Sure, see you soon :) x

Peter couldn't help but smile at the text from his girlfriend. Peter and Y/N had started dating just before Peter had gotten his powers, and Y/N had been surprisingly amazing and accepting when Peter told her the highly unusual news that she was now dating a superhero. He was lucky to have her, and he knew it.

Y/N's P.O.V

"I swear on our relationship that you will not get a kiss for a week if you put "Star Wars" on again." I warned, making Peter laugh as we walked along to his apartment, our hands joined and fingers intertwined.

"I'll just have to get loads in before I put it on, then." He teased. I rolled my eyes playfully and smiled as he quickly kissed my cheek before opening the door to his apartment.

"May? You in?" Peter called out. No response.

"Hm. I guess that it's just us, then." He smirked, making me bite my lip as he curled his arms around my waist and pulled me into his body.

"Sorry, I've just told you that you won't get kissed for a week if you put that movie on and you're expecting to get laid?" I scoffed. Peter laughed and nodded, making me smile as he leant down and pressed our lips together. I returned it, holding his face and pulling him closer.

"Let me get some snacks ready. Put my bag in my room?" he asked as he broke the kiss.

"Sure." I smiled. He returned it and pecked my lips again as I took his bag. He headed into the kitchen as I pushed his door open and wandered into the all-too familiar room. I looked around it, smiling to myself at the room that Peter and I had so many happy memories in. I put his bag down on his bed, also ditching my bag before looking around. This time, my eyes flicked to his desk. My eyebrows furrowed as I spotted a jar on his desk. With a live spider in it.

"What the fuck?" I scoffed to myself as I picked it up and looked at the spider. It looked harmless enough, just seemed to be a house spider, so I wasn't sure why Peter would be keeping it in a jar. I unscrewed the lid and let the spider scurry out, it immediately going to my hand.

"Hey there, little guy." I chuckled, turning my hand in accordance to where it ran so that it wouldn't fall off.

"What were you doing in there-ow!" I cut myself off as the spider bit me.

"Jesus, asshole spider, Pete." I scoffed to myself, gently rubbing the already sore bite as I put the spider back in the jar and screwed the lid on before quickly putting it back on the desk.

"You okay? I heard an "ow"." I looked up and gave Peter a smile as he stood at the doorway.

"Yeah, I, um, dropped my bag onto my foot." I lied with a nod.

"Oh, no wonder that hurt, your bag could be filled with bricks from the weight of it." He teased.

"Aren't you meant to have super strength?" I taunted back, gently placing my index finger on his chest as his hand landed on my waist.

"That's my point, I'm super strong and it's still heavy." He chuckled, making me smile and bite my lip as we headed into the living room.

Peter and I sat on the sofa, his arm around my waist and my body leaning into his as we watched the movie. Well, he was watching. I was more focused on the fact that I could hear everything around me with increased volume, from the TV sounding like it was right by my ear instead of five feet away, to Peter's heartbeat sounding so loud that it could have been inside of me. I squeezed my eyes shut, making Peter look at me.

"You okay, babe?" he mumbled.

"Um, yeah...I don't feel too good, that's all." I muttered. He looked at me with worried eyes.

"You need some food, or a drink or anything?" he asked as he gently moved a strand of hair out of my eyes.

"N-no, I'm fine-ah!" I hissed and cut myself off as a piercing ringing started in my ears. I sat forward, my eyes squeezed shut and my hands clamped around my ears as I tried to block it out.

"Y/N, what's wrong?" Peter gulped as he sat forward too and took my face into his hands, making me look at him.

"I-I don't know-everything is so loud, I can hear and feel everything." I choked. Peter's eyes widened, his hazel orbs wavering as he spotted the red bite mark on my hand.

"Oh, fuck...Y/N, you let the spider out, didn't you?" he gulped. I looked at him.

"What-."

"And it bit you, didn't it? I need you to be honest with me, babe." He nodded.

"How do you know that?" I gulped. His eyes wavered.

"Because it's the spider that bit me." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"What?!" I exclaimed. He nodded and looked at me, tears pricking his eyes.

"Yeah. You, er, you're going to be like me, babe." He spoke, his voice cracking. I choked.

"Peter, what-why did you even keep it?!" I scoffed.

"I don't know, it bit me, and I was going to kill it, but-fuck, I don't know, that spider is what made me what I am. I kind of feel grateful towards it, so I couldn't just kill it." He sighed. I returned it and looked down.

"Y/N, babe, I'm so sorry. I should have warned you to never open that jar, I'm so sorry." He choked and shook his head. I gulped and looked at him.

"You'll stay with me, won't you? Because I can already hear and feel everything, and it's only been an hour, so something tells me that this is about to suck." I stated, making Peter laugh and nod as a tear left his eye.

"I'm not going anywhere, sweetheart. I'm right here." He promised. I gulped and nodded, curling into Peter's body as he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

~Six months later~

I lay on the concrete of the roof, my head on Peter's lap and his glove-covered fingers gently combing through my hair as I looked up at the small amount of stars that weren't blocked out by the light pollution of Queens.

"It's been such a quiet night, huh." I chuckled and shook my head.

"Y/N, rule number one of being a superhero is that you NEVER say the "Q" word, you've just jinxed us." Peter teased.

"Fuck off, Peter!" I laughed as I sat up. He smirked and shook his head, his arm curling around my waist as we sat on the edge of the rooftop. After the full effects of the spider bite had set into my body and mind, Peter had taken me to Tony Stark for a suit. Ever since, Peter and I had been fighting crime side-by-side, which had also earned me the name of "Spider-Girl". Peter looked at me.

"Do you ever regret opening that jar, babe?" he asked. I bit my lip as I returned his gaze.

"Do you?" I returned. He sighed and looked back out over the streets of Queens.

"In the start, I did. Thought that I'd robbed myself of a normal life. Turns out that I just gave myself the opportunity for a better one." He admitted quietly. I nodded and bit my lip.

"I don't regret opening the jar." I shook my head. He looked at me.

"You don't?" he asked hopefully.

"No. I mean, sure, the powers setting in absolutely sucked, but I love helping people, and I love you. It's kind of the perfect mix. So, no, I don't regret it." I shrugged. He nodded, giving me a small smile as he leant in and gently pressed our lips together. I returned the kiss, holding his face as I did.

"Peter, I'm hearing police reports of a shooter in downtown Queens. Can you and Y/N get there?" Karen spoke in our ears, making us break the kiss.

"What do you say, babe?" he asked.

"I say let's go stop a shooter." I nodded.

"Alright then. Karen, tell the police that we're on our way." Peter spoke as we stood up and pulled our masks back on. We looked at each other.

"You ready for this?" Peter asked.

"Always am." I smiled under my mask. Peter nodded and leant in, our lips joining through the masks in the pre-mission ritual that we did now.

"Let's do this." I smiled before we both jumped off of the roof and started to fly.
