Romeo and Juliet *final part* (Mob boss!AU, Tom Holland)

Tom's P.O.V

Tom choked as the man who had been torturing him pulled the gun out and aimed at his chest. This was it. This was truly it. Tom had always known that being the first heir to the Holland mob would come with a lifetime of danger and attempts on his life, but he never believed that he'd go out like this. Suddenly, the door flew open, making Tom's eyes widen as Y/N ran in.

"Y/N! NO!" he shouted as she collapsed herself on top of him, making herself a shield between Tom and the bullet as the man fired the gun. Y/N's body jolted slightly as the bullet hit her, making Tom's eyes waver.

"No, no, please, sweetheart, don't leave me, please." He choked, tears immediately leaving his eyes as he gently rolled Y/N over in his arms so that he could see her face. Her eyes were closed, but she was still breathing. Only just, though. Tom looked over her body and saw the bullet wound in her waist.

"Come on, baby, don't leave me." He gulped as Y/N's dad rushed into the room.

"What the fuck did you do?!" he screamed, making Tom's eyes widen.

"ME?! If it weren't for you and my father fucking hating each other, none of this would have ever happened! We need to get her seen by whatever medical staff that you have, or she won't make it." He shook his head. Y/N's dad sighed and nodded.

"Follow me." He demanded. Tom gulped, looking down at Y/N as he picked her up bridal style and started to follow Y/N's dad to the medical suite. They rushed into the room, the staff's eyes widening as they saw what had happened.

"Put her there." One nurse instructed as she pointed to a bed. Tom nodded and gently placed her body onto it, tears still leaving his eyes and his hand cupping her cheek as he lay her down.

"You're going to be okay, darling. I promise." He whispered, taking her hand into his grasp as the nurses started to work to save her.

~Three days later~

Tom sat by Y/N's bedside, her hand wrapped in his as he just stared at her. When she had been shot, the nurses had just about managed to get her stabilised, but she hadn't woken up since being shot, and so everyone was holding their breaths. Tom choked and shook his head, resting his forehead against her hand. Why weren't things different? Tom wanted nothing more than to just live a normal life with Y/N and whatever family that they grew in the future. But he knew that especially now, that wasn't realistic. He was pulled from his thoughts as the door opened and Harrison walked in.

"W-what's up, Haz?" he mumbled as he wiped the tears from his face.

"Your dad and Adrian are still trying to figure out the terms of the treaty. But it's getting hostile. Again." He sighed. Tom clenched his jaw, anger bubbling inside of him as he stood up.

"You'd think that one of their children almost dying would be enough for them to finally end this. Stay with Y/N." he demanded, Harrison nodding as Tom left the room. The boy rolled his eyes as even from down the corridor, the two men could be heard shouting obscenities at each other.

"It should have been your son shot, not my daughter!"

"Fuck you! If your daughter could keep her legs closed, my son wouldn't have been tricked into a relationship with her!"

"ENOUGH!" Tom yelled as he threw the study door open, making both his father and Y/N's look at him.

"The whole point of this treaty is to stop our mobs from fighting, because an heir was almost killed. In any other situation, Y/N and I would be able to be together without any of this political bullshit. What the fuck gives you two the right to stop us from being together?!" he shouted. The men sighed and looked at him.

"The treaty is never going to work, Tom. We can't even decide on basic territorial rights." His dad scoffed. Tom sighed and walked towards the table before looking at the list.

"What's the area in question?" he asked.

"The south of the Thanes. It's currently our area." Tom's dad nodded.

"But considering that it was my daughter shot, I think that it's only right that we get given that land. As an amendment gift, if you will." Adrian stated. Tom sighed, trying to think of how to fix this. Suddenly, his mind struck gold. His eyes widened slightly, the cogs in his brain whirring away. Yes, this would work. And it would mean that him and Y/N could be together like they'd always wanted to be. That is, if their fathers accepted it. He looked back up at the men.

"There's only one true way to settle all of these disputes, and it doesn't even require a treaty." Tom shook his head.

"Oh, yeah? What's that?" Adrian scoffed.

"We join the two mobs together. Become one." He stated. The men's eyes widened.

"And how do we do that?" his dad asked. His lips curled into a smile.

"I think I know how." He nodded, his heart starting to jump at the idea.

Y/N's P.O.V

Pain washed over me, making me groan loudly.

"Hey, hey, it's alright, you're safe." My heart almost stopped as I heard his voice. I forced my eyes to slowly but surely open, a choke leaving my lips as Tom sat by the side of my bed with his hands wrapped around my hand.

"Tommy." I whispered.

"It's me, darling. And I'm okay." He reassured, a tear leaving his eye as he raised my hand and pressed his lips to the palm of it. I choked as I sat up and leant forward, the boy getting the hint as he met me half way. He joined our lips, making me immediately smile into it as I cupped his cheek. I broke the kiss and looked at him.

"What happened?" I mumbled.

"You saved my life. You literally took a bullet for me." He chuckled. I smiled and bit my lip before it dipped.

"But, our parents-."

"We somehow sorted it out. I guess that it was all bark and no bite because the moment that my dad saw how torn up your dad was over you getting shot, he didn't think that it was appropriate to attack a man at his weakest. So, they decided to write up a treaty." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"What?! And they haven't killed each other yet?" I scoffed.

"No, but it's not exactly going well, either. Come on, I'll show you." He nodded before standing up and outstretching his hand. I took it and eased myself up, thought slightly wincing at the pain that I still felt from the bullet. Tom wrapped his arm around my waist and helped me walk as we left the medical suite and headed towards my dad's office. Tom pushed the door open, making our fathers look up as I walked in.

"Y/N, I was so worried that I'd lost you." My dad sighed.

"Please don't pretend now that you care." I scoffed and shook my head, making him sigh again.

"So, why isn't the treaty working then?" I asked as I looked at the plans spread across the table.

"Literally because they can't decide on what to keep, and what to give away. And so, I suggested something else instead." Tom stated. I looked at him.

"Yeah?" I prompted. He smiled and bit his lip as he dug something out of his jacket pocket.

"I suggested joining the mobs into one. Through marriage." He admitted as he got down onto one knee. My eyes widened, a choke immediately leaving my lips as he opened the small velvet box to reveal a stunning engagement ring.

"Tommy, you don't have to do this just so that our mobs won't fight anymore." I gulped.

"Darling, I'm not doing it because of that. I'm doing it because I love you, so much. The fact that it stops the war is only a bonus. But I'm doing it because I'm in love with you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He nodded, tears now leaving his own eyes. I laughed and returned the nod.

"So, what do you say? Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife, and help me to rule over London as the most feared mob in England?" he smiled, making me laugh again.

"Yes, Tom. I will." I choked. He returned it and stood up before gently placing the ring on my finger. I smiled and bit my lip, admiring the stunning diamond for a moment before gently taking his face and pressing our lips together.
