HYDRA and the spider *part 1* (Soulmates!AU, Peter Parker)
Requested by simpforsoup: Y/N and Peter live in a world where people have soulmates, who it's impossible to hurt, everything will just bounce off of a person's soulmate. Y/N is a HYDRA agent with the same powers as Wanda and she is told to wreak havoc in Queens to get Spiderman's attention.
Sunlight spilled into my bedroom window, the warm feeling of the rays bouncing off of my skin. My eyes fluttered open, small groans leaving my lips as I was pulled out of the gentle embrace of sleep. I rubbed my eyes and yawned as I sat up. I grabbed my HYDRA phone and clicked on the home button, sighing as I had a voicemail. Indicating that I'd been assigned another mission. Being a HYDRA agent who could kill a man with one flick of energy was far from the life that I had envisioned as a little girl. But all of that had come crashing down when at the grand old age of six, HYDRA had killed my parents and had taken me. They had spent the last fourteen years grooming me to be the perfect assassin and had finally released me into the world a year ago to complete missions sent by them. I knew that it was such a cliche story, especially because my intelligence made me very unwilling to do HYDRA's dirty work, but it was kill or be killed in this life. I clicked onto the voicemail and held the phone to my ear, sighing as the same automated voice started playing.
"Good morning, agent Red Widow. Mission for today: wreak havoc and destruction in Queens in order to gain the attention of Spiderman, AKA, Peter Parker. Once attention is gained, kill the target." the voice spoke in a slow and monotonous tone. My eyes widened slightly though as I heard that name. Being a child of HYDRA, I had been raised to do my research on the Avengers. And I knew Peter Parker. He was the youngest Avenger by about twenty years, and was a very attractive young guy. I couldn't let that distract me, though. I stood up and quickly got dressed into my black catsuit and face mask, ready to complete my mission as I left my apartment.
I walked down the street in Queens, my hips swaying and red energy wrapped around my hands as people screamed and ran away from me. I flicked my wrists, making people scream as I launched cars into the air before sending them crashing back down to the ground. I had been told to wreak havoc, and so that's what I'd do. I continued to walk, my powers ripping through store fronts and starting fires as I tried to make as big of a scene as I could.
"You must be new around here, I don't recognise you." I smirked under my face mask, the voice that had just sounded behind me telling me that I had caused enough destruction. I turned around, my eyebrow raising as Spiderman stood there, hands placed sassily on his hips.
"You HYDRA?" he asked.
"Why does it matter where I come from?" I asked, flicking my wrist and sending a car flying towards him. The superhero leant to the side, missing the car with ease. My eyebrows furrowed. I knew that he was a quick mover and could sense things coming, but it shouldn't have been that easy for him to avoid the car. He walked towards me, his white eyes staring into my red ones.
"We doing this the easy way, or the hard way?" he asked. I smirked under my mask before starting to sprint at him.
"It's always the hard way, isn't it?" he sighed as I dropped to my back and slid towards him. He easily flipped over my body, making me groan as the action avoided me taking out his legs. I got back up, one hand on the ground and one in the air as I turned around to look at him. He kicked his leg out, making me groan as his foot kicked me straight in the face. And yet, I felt no pain. My eyebrows furrowed and I cupped my nose. No blood. What the fuck, I thought as I looked back at him. He kicked his leg out again but this time, I saw it coming. I leant my body back, making his leg go right over me as I punched out my fist. It collided with his face, making him stumble back slightly, but not groan. His white eyes widened as he cupped his nose too.
"What the hell?" he mumbled to himself before looking at me. I gulped, a really bad feeling starting to set in. There was a reason why we weren't hurting each other. I was just hoping that this wasn't it. I yelled out as I ran towards him again, making him do the same. We got to each other and I punched out my fist. He caught it with ease but he was too distracted to see my other palm flattening and aiming to his stomach. I fired the energy, but he didn't flinch. Fuck, I thought as I continued to fire, but nothing happened. Fuck this, I thought as I hooked my leg around his and pressed down. He groaned as he fell to the ground, finally giving me the chance that I needed as I straddled him. The boy groaned, unable to shift me as I got my knife out and raised it.
"NO!" he yelled out as I drove the blade into his chest.
I looked down at the hero that I was straddling, my eyes widening and my heart thumping. He looked at me with equally wide eyes before both of us looked at the knife that was in his chest. Except for that it wasn't. I removed the knife, my eyes widening as there was no sign of it ever having been there. I drove the knife down again, making the boy groan. Still nothing.
"This can't be happening." I gulped as I raised it and drove it back into his chest several more times, but to no avail. This could only mean one thing: that we were soulmates.
"Time to come with us." I squealed as suddenly, my arms were grabbed and I was lifted off of Spiderman. His eyes stayed wide as he scrambled back, Iron man going to check on him as Captain America forced my hands behind my back.
"Get the fuck off of me." I spat as I tried to squirm out of his grip.
"Are you going to continue fighting or are you going to come quietly?" he asked, looking at me as he forced me onto the jetti.
"Bite me, 'America's ass'." I mocked. He rolled his eyes before grabbing a needle gun off of one of the chairs and placing it to my neck. He released the liquid into me, making me hiss.
"What did you just do to me?" I spat, though my question was quickly answered by the fact that I started to feel immediately woozy.
"You wouldn't come quietly, and so you'll have a nice sleep." he nodded. I tried to fight it, but my body couldn't as my legs gave way, Captain America catching me so that I wouldn't hit the floor.
"There we go." he spoke as he gently lay me down on the floor of the jetti, my eyes fluttering shut and my body going limp.
Peter's P.O.V
"NO!" Peter yelled out as the girl drove the blade into his chest and he squeezed his eyes shut, determined to block out the pain that would definitely kill him. But that pain never came. He let one eye open and used it to look around. Well, he was still laying in the street, so unless he'd been lied to about what Heaven looked like, he wasn't dead. He looked up at the girl straddling him, her eyes also wide as they stared at each other. He looked at her for a moment longer before both of them looked at the knife that was in his chest. Except for that it wasn't. Peter's eyes widened as she removed the knife, her eyes widening again as there was no sign of it ever having been there. She drove the knife down again, making Peter groan. But he still didn't even feel a sense of pain. Peter gulped, his heart pounding. He knew that soulmates were a thing, and he knew that the rule was that it was impossible to hurt your soulmate. It explained why he hadn't felt pain from her punches, why she hadn't seemed to have felt pain from his, and why she was currently stabbing him over and over, yet he was still alive. He couldn't believe that a HYDRA agent, of all people, was his soulmate.
"This can't be happening." The girl gulped as she raised the knife and drove it back into his chest several more times, but to no avail. Peter's eyes widened again as he saw the jetti landing just behind them, the doors opening and allowing the rest of the team to run out.
"Time to come with us." the girl squealed as Steve grabbed her arms and was lifted off of Peter. His eyes stayed wide as he scrambled back.
"Woah, you okay, kid?" Tony asked as he got down on a knee next to him and helped him to sit up. Peter gulped, his eyes glued to the girl as she fought against Steve's grip.
"Mr Stark, she's my soulmate." he choked. Tony's eyes widened and he joined Peter in looking at the girl, who was now being sedated by Steve, presumably because she wouldn't stop fighting.
"Are you sure, Pete?" Tony questioned. Peter gulped as he looked down and to the knife that she'd tried to stab him with. Multiple times. He picked it up and gently touched his fingertip to the tip of the blade, hissing as it was sharp.
"She stabbed me with this knife, several times. Never once did it actually hurt me." he shook his head. Tony nodded as he took the blade and did the same thing that Peter had done.
"Well, on the bright side, you've just found your soulmate." he chuckled, making Peter look at him as he pulled the boy up.
"Mr Stark, I don't know if you've noticed, but my soulmate is a HYDRA agent. She's part of the organisation that's made up of the most evil people on the planet! How is that a bright side?!" he exclaimed.
"It's a bright side because it's likely that she can be turned back to our side. Most agents her age were taken as kids and were trained by HYDRA. Some are completely brainwashed but you'd be surprised at how many hate HYDRA just as much as we do for robbing them of a normal life." he explained.
"Well, how do I know which one she is?" he gulped.
"You'll just have to wait and see." Tony shrugged before starting to walk back towards the jetti. Peter sighed and looked down.
"Great." he mumbled as he followed Tony onto the jetti, pulling his mask off and running his hand through his hair out of stress as he did.
