Married man *part 1* (Tom Holland)
Requested by MARVEL8002: Tom is married to Y/N's best friend, but he cheats on her with Y/N.
*Please note: As this requests suggests, this one-shot includes cheating. I just want to say that of course I do not condone any form of cheating, cheating no matter what it involves is wrong, and obviously you shouldn't do it. Me writing requests about it isn't me condoning it. That is all, thank you and enjoy :)*
I knocked on Harrison's front door and waited for a response. A few moments later, it opened to reveal the blond boy.
"Y/N, hey, it's awesome to see you." he chuckled as he leant down and hugged me.
"Great to see you too, Haz." I smiled as I headed in and he shut the door behind me.
"That's for you." I nodded, handing him the bottle of wine.
"Thank you, that's brilliant. So, almost everyone else is here, so just head through." he shrugged. I nodded again and bit my lip as I headed through to his living room. I gulped, my eyes immediately wavering as I saw Tom. And his wife, my best friend, Leah. Fuck. I'd been friends with Leah since uni, when we'd shared the same student flat in first year and had just stuck together since. I had met Tom a year after Leah, and had instantly fallen for the god-like man. Everything about him was just perfect, everything from his stunning chocolate eyes and beautiful hazel waves, to the body that I obviously hadn't seen in person but could imagine given how tight his shirts always were. I had made the mistake of introducing Tom and Leah at a party a few years ago, a mistake that I regretted to this day since they hit it off immediately and were engaged within months. And so here I was, at a dinner party thrown by my other best mate, Harrison, and therefore stuck in a room for the night with my best friend and her husband that I was in love with. What could possibly go wrong?
"Y/N, hey!" Leah squealed, making me force a laugh as she ran to me and hugged me tightly.
"It's great to see you, how have you guys been?" I chuckled as I pulled away and looked at her.
"We've been great, haven't we, babe?" she smiled at Tom. I looked at him, my eyes wavering as he was already gazing softly at me.
"Um, yeah, sure. It's great to see you again, Y/N." Tom nodded as he leant down and kissed my cheek. He let it linger, making my heart jump as his hand also found my waist before he pulled away.
"It's always great to see you, Tom." I smiled, making him return it and bite his lip as we continued to look at each other.
"Jesus, do you guys want a room together?" Leah teased, making us both laugh awkwardly.
"I better grab a drink." I chuckled.
"Yeah, mine needs topping up too." Tom nodded. I gulped and tried to ignore my in-pain heart as he kissed Leah's cheek and we headed into the kitchen.
"It really is good to see you again, Y/N. You're looking really good. Really good." he nodded. I bit my lip and tried not to blush as his eyes subtly flicked up and down my body. But not subtle enough for me to not notice.
"It's great to see you too, Tom." I smiled, making him return it and bite his lip. This was why I had been so surprised when Tom and Leah had started dating, because I had always sworn that Tom liked me instead. Before Tom and Leah met, we'd virtually acted like a couple, with us flirting with each other, him stealing small touches and glances at me, and him always complimenting me in ways that you wouldn't expect from just a friend. I would have loved to say that that had stopped after they got together, but it hadn't. Tom had continued to glance at me from across the room, small smiles on his lips and stars in his eyes when he looked at me. I wasn't going to act on it for obvious reasons, but the reasoning behind him marrying Leah was something that I'd never understand.
"Y/N?" I snapped back, making Tom chuckle as he waved a hand in front of my face.
"Sorry, Tom, I was...thinking." I spoke.
"Oh, yeah? About what?" he smiled, making my eyes widen slightly.
"You." I teased, making him smirk and shake his head as he grabbed his wine.
"Sure you were. Come on." he chuckled. I returned it and nodded, my heart pounding and my brain thanking itself for the fact that that bluff had worked as we headed back to the table.
All of us sat around the table, eating and laughing as we enjoyed the dinner party. I was sat across from Tom and Leah, a fact that I had conflicting feelings about considering that I'd caught Tom several times stealing glances at me, all at the same time as barely paying attention to Leah. What was going on with him?
"I'm going out for a cigarette, anyone want to join?" I asked as I stood up.
"I think that we're all good, Y/N." Harrison smiled. I returned it and nodded, my eyes briefly flicking to Tom. I gave him a small smile, making him return it as I headed out. I puffed out, my heart pounding as I walked out onto Harrison's patio before grabbing a cigarette from the carton. I shouldn't have been feeling this way towards my best friend's husband, but I was, and I didn't know if I could stop.
"You have a spare?" I looked over my shoulder and gulped as Tom walked out, his gaze on me as he shut the patio door again.
"Since when do you smoke?" I chuckled.
"I don't really, but I have the occasional one when I'm stressed. Don't tell Leah." he teased. I smirked and shook my head, making him return it as I handed him my carton. I bit my lip and looked at the boy as he put a cigarette in between his lips, his head ducking and his hand raising to cover the flame as he lit it. Only he could look so hot doing something so mundane.
"So, what's got you so stressed, Tommy-boy?" I smiled, making him chuckle and blow out the smoke as he leant against Harrison's outside table. He sighed and looked at me.
"Can I talk to you as one of my best friends, as opposed to one of Leah's?" he asked. My eyebrows furrowed and my smile dipped slightly as he said that. What the fuck was he about to say?
"Yeah, of course. I'm as much a mate to you as I am to her." I reassured. He gave me a small smile and nodded, inhaling the smoke from the cigarette before removing it from his lips and blowing the smoke back out.
"The truth is that our marriage is failing. It has been pretty much since it started. I'm not sure why I even proposed to her, but yeah. It's not working out, none of it is." he admitted with a shake of his head. My eyes wavered and I gulped at his words.
"Tom, I'm so sorry, that's awful." I sighed, my mind completely unsure of what to say.
"If I'm being completely honest, it's not awful. I mean, it is because we're both miserable, but it's not awful that it'll finally be over. I liked Leah, sure, but I'm not sure if I ever loved her." he continued to confess. I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Does Leah know that? Does she know that you don't love her?" I scoffed. He shook his head, his eyes looking at me timidly as the cigarette smoke slipped from his lips.
"No. She knows that something is wrong, but she thinks that that's just the marriage falling apart, because she's not there for it anymore either. But she doesn't know that I don't love her." he mumbled. I gulped, my heart starting to thump harshly even simply in anticipation of hearing his answer to my next question as I moved closer to him.
"If not Leah...who do you love?" I asked quietly as I moved so that I was standing right in front of him. He gulped, his eyes flicking to my lips as he stood up straight.
"I think that you know the answer to that." he stated, making me gulp as he slowly but surely started to lean in. I also tilted my head up, Tom's hand cupping my cheek as he leant in and kissed me. I returned the kiss, my eyes fluttering shut as I held his face and his hands moved to my waist. He deepened the kiss, making me smile into it as he gently slipped his tongue into my mouth. Suddenly, his eyes shot open and he broke the kiss, making me gulp as he darted away from me with as much speed as he'd kissed me with.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry...I really shouldn't have done that." he gulped as he looked at me with wide eyes. I bit my lip, my heart pounding as the magnitude of the situation started to sink in. I had just kissed my best friend's husband...her husband had just cheated on her...with me. Fuck, I was a terrible human being.
"No, it's okay, I shouldn't have kissed back. Fuck, what do we do?" I scoffed.
"For starters, we don't tell Leah. I know that our marriage is basically over, but she'll be heartbroken." he shook his head.
"No, I agree, she'll never speak to me again if she knows that I kissed you." I sighed. He returned it and looked at me.
"I-I'm going to head back inside. But, for what it's worth...that was a really nice kiss." he admitted as he headed to the door. I bit my lip, tears pricking my eyes as I looked at him.
"Don't say that. It doesn't help how I feel about you." I choked and shook my head. Tom sighed and looked down, his eyes glassy as he looked back up at me.
"I know. I'm sorry." he nodded, making me gulp as he headed back inside.
