Levi *part 1* (Peter Parker)
Requested by _soeen: Y/N and Peter are ex-lovers, Y/N left because she got pregnant. After three years, Y/N needs to hire a babysitter to look after her son, Levi, who is the baby that she got pregnant with. Peter is working part-time and so responds to the advert. When he comes over, he's shocked when he sees Levi and his first thought is that she left him for another guy. After a while, Peter confronts Y/N and she explains everything.
I sat on the bed, tears rolling down my face and my body numb as I just stared into space. My head pounded as a result of the constant stream of tears, the incessant pain being my body's way of telling me that I needed water. I didn't want to move, though. I felt completely numb, not a single movement spread through my body. After all, I was about to leave the love of my life, Peter Parker. Peter and I had been dating for a couple of years now, though I'd be the first to admit that we'd potentially be considered more lovers than partners. But that didn't matter. What mattered is that I was now pregnant, with Peter's baby. I choked and buried my hands into my face as I tried to work out how this had happened. Well, I knew how it had happened, but Peter and I had always been so careful due to the fact that we were only nineteen, and he was an Avenger, so could die on any given day. After hours of sobbing and mind-numbing pain, I had decided to keep the baby. The problem with that was that I didn't want to be a burden to Peter by pushing such responsibility onto him. Even if he wanted me to have an abortion or to put the baby up for adoption, knowing him, that would still be too much for him to handle. And so, I was leaving him. He was currently on a mission, which would make it significantly easier to leave without risk of him coming back before I was gone and trying to stop me. I sniffed, wiping my nose with my tissue as I stood up. I put my backpack onto my back before grabbing my two suitcases and wheeling them through the apartment. Tears continued to stream down my face, making my vision blurry as I wheeled the bags into the living room. I put my keys down on the dresser for Peter to find when he got home, my heart tearing itself apart as I opened the door. I bit my lip and took one last look around the apartment. Peter and I had so many amazing memories from this place, but now it was time to leave it all behind.
"Goodbye, Peter. I'm sorry." I choked before wheeling my bags out and shutting the door.
That had been three years ago. It had torn me apart to leave Peter like that, but I couldn't justify putting the responsibility of a baby onto him when we were only nineteen. And so that was why I was raising our now three-year-old son, Levi, alone.
"Baby, come finish your juice, I didn't say that you could leave the table." I sighed as I wandered around the apartment and picked up my son's toys and clothes.
"I had enough, mommy." he shrugged, looking up at me as he sat on the floor and played with a few of his toy cars. I sighed and bit my lip at him. The small child was the absolute double of Peter, given that he somehow inherited both his hazel curls and his stunning chocolate eyes. Not that I was complaining, those genes had given me the cutest little boy on the planet as my son.
"Okay, babe. Well, it's still on the table if you decide that you want some more." I nodded as I sat down on the sofa behind him and gently stroked his hair as I got out my phone. I clicked onto the website that I'd advertised on to see if I had any hits. Being a twenty-two-year old single mom was extremely hard and juggling my work with looking after a three-year-old boy was near impossible on most days. And so I had decided to post about it on a mom-friendly website that my friend had recommended, asking for a babysitter to look after Levi whilst I worked. I raised my eyebrows, a smile starting to tug on my lips as I saw that I had a message:
PBP: Hey there! I saw you advertising for a babysitter for a small boy?
Y/N: Hey, yes! You interested?
PBP: Definitely! I'm great with kids and I'm working part-time right now, so am looking for an extra gig to work
Y/N: Brilliant. Send all of your checks and stuff over and I'll look over them. If everything is fine, when's the soonest that you can start?
PBP: As soon as tomorrow!
Y/N: Oh, amazing! Send everything over and I'll get back to you ASAP :)
PBP: Brill, will do :)
"Honey, you might be getting a new babysitter tomorrow." I mumbled as I continued to stroke Levi's hair.
"But I like you looking after me." He whined.
"I know, baby, but I have to work if you want more toys and clothes." I nodded.
"Fine. But I want someone who wants to play cars with me." He huffed.
"I'm sure that this person will be happy to do that with you, babe." I chuckled, making the boy smile at me. I sighed and looked back at him. It was definitely not great to have raised Levi without a father figure, but my brother and dad provided him with enough healthy male role models for him to be okay. Then again, I would have loved to raise him with Peter. I gulped and shook my head, wiping the tear that had fallen as I continued to gently stroke my son's hair.
I sat on the sofa, tapping my foot nervously as I waited for Levi's new babysitter to arrive. As if on cue, the doorbell rang.
"Finally." I mumbled as I shot up and rushed to the door before opening it. As soon as I opened it, I wished that I hadn't. My eyes widened, tears pricking them as my breath hitched and my heart stopped. Peter had the exact same reaction, his eyes widening and his mouth hanging open as we just stared at each other. Shit. This was awkward.
"Y/N...shit, my god." he gulped.
"Peter...fuck, "PBP", "Peter Benjamin Parker". I should have known." I sighed.
"So should I. Jesus, how the fuck?" he groaned as he rubbed his hands over his face.
"Peter, I think that you better go, I don't know how good of an idea it is to have you babysit my child." I gulped. That was a lie, I'd admit, but Peter didn't need to find out that he had a son by babysitting him.
"Definitely not, see you again in three years-."
"Mommy?" I sighed and closed my eyes as Levi's voice ran out, making Peter turn back around. His eyes widened slightly and he turned his body back as Levi ran up to me and gently took my hand.
"Is this my babysitter?" the boy asked quietly as he shyly hid behind my body. I sighed and bit my lip, tears pricking my eyes as I looked back at Peter.
"Hey, little guy. Yeah, I'm your new babysitter, and we're going to have such a great time." Peter chuckled as he got down on his knees in front of Levi.
"Are you?" I gulped, making Peter sigh and look up at me.
"Come and play cars with me!" Levi squealed as he took Peter's hand and gently tugged him.
"Woah!" Peter exclaimed, acting like Levi had been strong enough to pull him up as he stood up and let our son guide him into the living room. I bit my lip and crossed my arms over my chest. Peter was already being amazing with our son, and he didn't even know it yet.
"Which car am I having, buddy?" Peter asked as he sat on the floor with Levi.
"That one." Levi nodded as he gave Peter one of his cars.
"That's my favourite one! How did you know?" he smiled. I gulped, a tear leaving my eye as I tried to recompose myself.
"Peter, are you sure that this is alright? I get it if you don't want to stay." I shook my head.
"You need to go to work, and this awesome little dude needs someone to watch him. It's fine." he reassured. I sighed and bit my lip. From what I could tell, Peter hadn't worked out yet that Levi was his, or if he had, he wasn't saying anything. Which meant that I was in for a very difficult conversation later on.
"Okay, baby, mommy has to go to work. Be good for Peter, okay?" I nodded as I gently kissed Levi's head.
"I will, mommy." he returned my nod.
"Peter, I'll pay you when I get back." I spoke as I grabbed my purse and jacket.
"Yeah, whatever." he mumbled. I gulped and bit my lip, another tear rolling down my face as I opened the door and rushed out.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter knocked on the front door of the address that he was given for the babysitting gig and shoved his hands in his pockets as he waited. Peter was currently on a break from being Spiderman, and had been since his ex-girlfriend, Y/N, had walked out on him when he was away for a mission. The situation had absolutely broken him, and since then he couldn't really look at his suit without thinking of her. He was only working part-time right now and needed money, so when he saw an advert on a website for babysitting a three-year-old-boy, he figured that he'd try his hand at babysitting. The door opened, making Peter look up. His eyes widened, his throat drying instantly as his heart started pounding harshly. Y/N had the exact same reaction, her eyes widening and her mouth hanging open as they just stared at each other. Shit. This was awkward.
"Y/N...shit, my god." he gulped.
"Peter...fuck, "PBP", "Peter Benjamin Parker". I should have known." She sighed.
"So should I. Jesus, how the fuck?" he groaned as he rubbed his hands over his face.
"Peter, I think that you better go, I don't know how good of an idea it is to have you babysit my child." Y/N gulped.
"Definitely not, see you again in three years-."
"Mommy?" Peter stopped in his tracks as he heard a little boy's voice. He turned back around, his eyes widened slightly as he turned his body back to face the little boy that was now clinging onto Y/N. The little boy that looked almost exactly like him. At this point, either Peter's theory that Y/N had left him for another man was still true...or Peter had been a dad for the last three years without knowing it. Shit.
"Is this my babysitter?" the boy asked quietly as he shyly hid behind Y/N's body. She sighed and bit her lip, tears pricking her still gorgeous eyes as she looked back at Peter. He had two options here: walk away or never look back, or stay and babysit the child that was potentially his son.
"Hey, little guy. Yeah, I'm your new babysitter, and we're going to have such a great time." Peter chuckled as he got down on his knees in front of Levi. God, this kid was so fucking cute.
"Are you?" Y/N gulped, making Peter sigh and look up at her.
"Come and play cars with me!" Levi squealed as he took Peter's hand and gently tugged him.
"Woah!" Peter exclaimed, acting like Levi had been strong enough to pull him up as he stood up and let the boy guide him into the living room.
"Which car am I having, buddy?" Peter asked as he sat on the floor with Levi.
"That one." Levi nodded as he gave Peter one of his cars.
"That's my favourite one! How did you know?" he smiled.
"Peter, are you sure that this is alright? I get it if you don't want to stay." Y/N shook her head.
"You need to go to work, and this awesome little dude needs someone to watch him. It's fine." he reassured. Part of him thought that maybe he was better just leaving, but the other part of him was saying that the best way to get answers from Y/N was to ask her when she got back from work and Levi was in bed. And so, he'd stay.
Y/N's P.O.V
I opened the front door and puffed out as I finally got home. Work had overrun, and so instead of getting home by five in time to put Levi to bed, it was now eight-fifteen. I looked up and gulped as Peter walked quietly into the living room, his finger pressed to his lips telling me to be quiet.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to leave you with him for so long." I whispered.
"It's okay, I put him down a couple of hours ago." he nodded.
"Thank you." I sighed before heading into Levi's room. I quietly crept in, a small smile on my lips as I saw our sleeping son. I leant down and gently kissed his head, being careful not to wake him before standing up and creeping back out of the room. I shut the door and headed into the kitchen, Peter following me with his arms crossed over his chest.
"He's a good kid." he mumbled as he leant against the counter. I bit my lip and looked at him.
"Yeah, he is. Can be so much trouble sometimes, but I wouldn't change him for the world." I shook my head.
"Good, because he doesn't need changing." he nodded. I gulped and looked at him.
"Peter, just say it-."
"He's my son, isn't he?" he choked. My eyes wavered, a tear rolling down my cheek as I looked down and nodded. Peter choked again, his mouth hanging open as tears started to leave his eyes.
"What the fuck, Y/N?" he cried.
"I know, Pete, and I'm so sorry." I shook my head. He returned it and scoffed, leaning against the island with his arms as he looked at me.
"I always assumed that you'd left me for another guy. What happened?" he gulped. I bit my lip in a futile attempt to stop more tears as I looked back down.
"I found out that I was pregnant a week before you left for the mission. I was absolutely terrified, not just because we were only nineteen, but because you were doing so well. You were an Avenger, you were so happy with your career, I didn't want a child to jeopardize that." I admitted.
"Okay but you didn't even give me the choice, Y/N. It's not like you told me and I demanded that you abort him, you never even fucking told me. You just waited until you knew that I'd be gone and then left yourself." he shook his head.
"I know, Pete. I know that I fucked up and I'm so sorry." I choked. He bit his lip and paced the kitchen floor, his hands tugging at his hair in a way that told me that he was stressed.
"I always figured that you'd left me for some other guy. That you were cheating on me and had finally decided to leave. I don't know what's worse. The lie that I told myself or the reality that I missed the first three years of my son's life. The worst bit of it all is that I never stopped loving you. I still love you so fucking much, why is why I'm angry. I can't be properly mad at you for this." he mumbled. I looked at him.
"You still love me?" I whispered.
"Yeah, Y/N. I do. I know that that's fucking crazy, but it's the truth." he scoffed and shook his head.
"It's not stupid, Pete. Because I still love you too." I admitted. He looked at me.
"You do?" he asked hopefully.
"I do. Like I said, I didn't leave because I stopped loving you. I left because I was worried about burdening you with Levi." I nodded.
"That kid couldn't be a burden if he tried." Peter chuckled, making me laugh and nod as he looked at me.
"What do we do now, then? Because I know that you've raised him for the last three years, but I'm also not about to walk out on my son." he shook his head. I looked at him.
"Peter...are you saying that you want to help me raise him?" I choked.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." he nodded. My eyes wavered, a tear leaving them as I rushed around the island. I tightly wrapped my arms around Peter's torso, making him chuckle and press his lips to my head as he returned the hug.
"I'd love for you to help raise him." I admitted into his shirt.
"Good. Because I'm here to stay." he returned. I smiled and bit my lip before looking up at the boy, him leaning down and gently pecking my lips before pulling me into another hug.
