Flowers (Soulmate!AU, Peter Parker)
Requested by simpforsoup: Y/N and Peter live in a world where whenever your soulmate gets hurt, flowers appear on your body in the same area where they're hurt. One night, Peter gets really hurt doing a late-night patrol and goes to see Ned to patch him up. Except for that he accidentally goes into Y/N's house, not Ned's. Y/N freaks out and threatens to scream before she sees that Peter is really hurt. She starts noticing that he has cuts and bruises in all of the places that she has flowers. Due to the amount of flowers that she has on her body, she realises just how hurt he is, and decides to patch him up.
Sunlight streamed in through my open windows, the rays bathing the room in light as I slowly came to. I let my eyes flutter open, a yawn leaving my lips as I stretched out and arched my back off of the bed.
"Fuck." I groaned as I rubbed my eyes and sat up. I stood up and sighed as I went to my full-length mirror to do my usual checks.
"Let's see what he's been up to since last night." I mumbled to myself as I started to get undressed. As I removed my pyjamas, the fabric moved to reveal more flowers and markings against my skin. I sighed and bit my lip, my eyes moving over each new one as I stood there. In this world, soulmates existed. And in this world, if your soulmate got hurt, a flower marking would appear on your body where they had been hurt. If you were smart and savvy enough for it, you could eventually find your soulmate based off of where they were hurt and where you had flowers. I hadn't found mine yet, though, which was surprising considering that I had at least a few new flower markings on me every day. I always just figured that my soulmate was some dare-davil who liked to get himself injured for no reason. I didn't know, considering that I hadn't met him yet. I sighed and gulped as I looked over the markings. I had a few on my chest, which weren't new, but the one on my side was. And it was bigger, which wasn't good. The bigger the flower, the more serious the wound on your soulmate. Tiny petals equalled just a bruise or scratch, slightly larger and in-bloom ones meant a manageable flesh wound, even bigger and more colourful ones meant a more serious wound, and...well...no one wanted the flower that would take up your entire chest. That meant that your soulmate's heart had stopped. I gulped, grateful for every day that I went without that flower on my chest, but the deep purple and fully blooming one on my side suggested that my soulmate had been stabbed. And it was a bad one. I sighed and shook my head, knowing that there was no point in dwelling over the actions of someone that I couldn't control as I started to get ready for the day.
Peter's P.O.V
Peter swung from house to house, his body in immense amounts of pain as he travelled. He cried out as he stopped, his feet landing against the sidewalk as he leant against the wall. He bent over, his arm hugging his side as he knew that he had to carry on. The massive slash on his waist said no, but he knew that he'd die if he didn't get it seen to. The slash had been there since his patrol yesterday, and it hadn't even started to heal before being hit again and made deeper by the assholes that he'd fought tonight. He puffed out, his eyes squeezing shut and his teeth gritting together as he stood up straight.
"Karen, call Ned." he breathed out.
"No problem, Peter." she replied before the dial tones started. Peter gulped and closed his eyes as he begged for his best friend to pick up.
"Hey, Pete." Ned picked up.
"Ned, I'm going to come by, I'm in a really bad way, dude." he choked and shook his head, the pain getting so bad that even his super strength couldn't block it out anymore.
"Crap, alright, yeah, come by." he nodded. Peter returned it and took a deep breath, knowing that this was going to hurt like a bitch as he raised his arm and shot a web up. He cried out as he was launched into the air, his body landing against the balcony of Ned's house. He choked at the pain, his hands pushing the doors open before he stumbled into the room.
Y/N's P.O.V
I sat at my desk as I listened to music and tried to focus on my homework. But I couldn't. I sighed and bit my lip, my mind continuing to flick back to the massive flower on my waist. A flower that size and vibrancy of colour was really fucking bad, and I was genuinely worried that in the morning, I'd wake up to find that gone and a flower on my chest instead. I paused my music and stood up before heading to my mirror. I gulped, my eyes wavering as I pulled my top up to look at the marking. It was getting bigger, suggesting that the wound was bleeding heavily. This really wasn't good. Suddenly, my balcony doors flew open, making me whip around. My eyes widened, my breath hitching in my throat as Spider-Man was now lying on my floor, the superhero groaning as he weakly pushed himself up onto his hands and knees and his arm held his stomach.
"Please don't scream." he gulped.
"Why shouldn't I?! I get that you're a superhero, but that doesn't mean that you can just break into someone's house, I'm actually pretty sure that your job is to stop OTHERS from doing that! Superhero or not, give me one good reason why I shouldn't shank your ass or scream." I spat.
"Please...my best friend lives next door, I thought that this was his balcony. I'm really hurt, I'm weak, please." he choked and shook his head as his white eyes looked up at me. I gulped and looked at the man, my eyebrows furrowing as the cogs in my brain started to work away. I knew that this was very wishful thinking, but me having constant flowers on my body would line up with me being soulmates with a superhero. Like Spider-Man. And if that was true, he had a really big gash on his side that was close to killing him. I sighed and walked past him, the hero following me with his eyes as I closed my balcony doors.
"Fine, okay, I'll help. But only because I'm not about to be blamed for your death." I chuckled, making him return it as I put his arm over my shoulder and wrapped my arm around his waist. I gently eased him up, winces and cries leaving his lips as I gently placed him down onto my bed.
"Fuck me." he choked in pain, making me gulp as I looked up and down his body.
"How do I get this thing off, then?" I mumbled.
"You that desperate to see me naked already, huh?" he teased with a choke. I playfully rolled my eyes, making him chuckle weakly as he pressed the metal spider on his chest. The material came loose around his body, allowing me to start pulling it off. My eyes widened as I pulled it down to reveal his torso.
"Holy shit." I whispered, partly because of the amount of cuts and scratches on his body, but mainly because he looked good. I knew that I shouldn't have been thinking about that with him potentially on his deathbed, but I couldn't help it.
"What the fuck happened?" I gulped as I looked down at his torso. My eyebrows furrowed, my mind starting to ask even more questions as he seemed to have a lot of little cuts and bruises in very similar, if not identical places to where I had smaller flowers. That wasn't enough to conclusively say that it was him, though.
"A particularly nasty set of thugs with a load of very sharp weapons." he nodded, his hand leaning up and gripping my headboard in an attempt to deal with the pain.
"I'm surprised that you're still alive-." I stopped talking, my breath hitching in my throat as I saw it. My eyes wavered, my heart starting to thump harshly. I looked up at the hero, making his white eyes squint.
"What? What's wrong?" he gulped. I returned it, a tear leaving my eye as I looked back down at the massive gash in his side. In the exact same place that I had the almost fully-bloomed flower. I had just found my soulmate. I bit my lip and looked at him.
"I, um...I know that this may not be appropriate given that you're bleeding out on my bed, and I'm so sorry if this is really fucking weird...but I think that we're soulmates." I admitted. The hero's eyes widened, and he sat up slightly, one arm propping his body up as the other hand held the gash.
"What?" he gulped. I returned it, my heart almost pounding out of my chest as I slowly pulled my top off. His white eyes widened, his Adam's apple bobbing in a gulp as his eyes flicked to the massive flower on my side.
"Holy shit...it's you..." he whispered. I nodded and bit my lip, tears of happiness pricking my eyes as I leant forward and placed my hand against his head. I started to pull at his mask, the boy letting me as I pulled the fabric off of his head. My eyes widened as a gorgeous pair of chocolate eyes looked back at me.
"Fuck me." I mumbled, making him chuckle and bite his thin lip as my eyes flicked over his stunning face and beautiful hazel curls.
"Like what you see?" he teased.
"Fuck yes, who wouldn't? Jesus, thank you, universe, for making my soulmate hot as fuck." I sighed and shook my head, making him laugh.
"For what it's worth, I feel the same. Shit, you're absolutely stunning." he shook his head. I smiled and bit my lip, a blush creeping onto my cheeks at his words.
"Now it all makes sense, though. Of course I always look like a fucking flower shop, my soulmate is Spider-Man, it all makes sense now-." the boy laughed and shook his head as his hand raised to cup my cheek. He pulled me down and pressed our lips together, making me smile and sink into it as I gently lay against him. He deepened the kiss and gently slid his tongue into my mouth, his lips feeling incredible against mine as we kissed. He broke the kiss and touched our foreheads as my eyes fluttered open.
"I'm Peter, by the way." he mumbled, making me laugh and shake my head as I only just realised that we'd not introduced ourselves yet.
"Y/N." I whispered.
"Well, you know what, Y/N? I think that I could get used to that." he nodded. I playfully rolled my eyes and slapped a part of his chest that wasn't bruised or cut, making him laugh and pull me closer as he leant down and kissed me again.
