Childhood friends (Mob boss!AU, Tom Holland)

Requested by Meg_Weasley: Tom is a mob leader and Y/N is a friend of his from their childhood. They haven't seen each other in years but they start to date when they meet again. Tom ends up proposing in a really sweet way and they get married. The entire time, she's the only person that he's sweet to.

I stood in the bank, bored out of my mind as I stood in line and waited to be seen. I looked down at my watch and rolled my eyes as I saw that I'd already been standing here for half an hour, and yet the queue had barely moved. Oh well, this needs to be done, I thought as I looked back up.

"EVERYONE GET DOWN!" I looked to the doors, my eyes widening as a bunch of armed gunmen ran into the building. They shot up at the ceiling, making me scream and get down along with everyone else.

"NO ONE MOVE, AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT! ALL WE WANT IS MONEY!" they continued to yell. I gulped, my shaky hands covering my head as the tellers handed over wads of cash and the gunmen shoved them into the duffel bags. Suddenly, one of them glanced at me before freezing. His eyes widened as he stared at me, making my breath hitch in my throat. Fuck, shit, of course they noticed me out of everyone, I thought as his eyes were seemingly locked on me.

"Shit, Steve." he mumbled, making the other guy look at me. His eyes widened too, making my eyebrows furrow. What the fuck was going on, why were they both so shocked to see me? I had never been in a situation like this before, so I couldn't figure out how they were both seemingly recognising me.

"Fuck, she's on the boss' "Do not touch" list. We need to get out of here." he muttered and shook his head. The other one nodded as they shoved the rest of the money into the bags, my eyes wide as I just watched them. What the fuck did they mean, I was on a "Do not touch" list, and who the fuck was their boss? I wracked my brain, desperately trying to figure out who had that much power and who wouldn't want to hurt me. My eyes widened further, my breath hitching as I could only think of one person. Surely not, though. I hadn't talked to him in about ten years, but we had been super close when we had talked, and provided that he had actually been telling the truth about what his family did when I thought that he'd been lying, it added up. I had to find out. I snapped back as the gunmen rushed back out of the bank, leaving people gasping and crying as they left. I grabbed my bag before rushing after them.

I stood in front of the large stone mansion, my heart in my throat as I looked up at the massive structure. I gulped, my mind still trying to decide if this was a good idea. After all, this was the home of the most notorious mob leader in London...and my old childhood friend, Tom Holland. We'd been good friends for almost fifteen years, from the ages of five to eighteen, but we'd drifted apart after I had gone to university and he had done whatever. Well, I knew what he'd been doing, but until today, I hadn't believed it. When we had been friends, Tom and his family had always been very quiet about what they did. I had never been allowed around to his house when we hung out, his parents never talked to mine, and all I knew about their family business was that it made them a shit load of money. Tom had finally told me that his family did when we were seventeen, but I didn't believe him. I'd always had a crush on the boy and I always hoped that he felt the same, and so I figured that he was just trying to impress me. I guessed not. I took a deep breath and raised my shaking fist to knock on the grand oak door. It eventually made contact, making me gulp as I knocked. There was no going back now. My eyes widened slightly as almost immediately, it opened to reveal a very large and intimidating man, who I guessed was some kind of bodyguard.

"What?" he scoffed, making me gulp again as he looked me up and down with a scowl on his lips.

"I-I'm here to see Tom Holland." I spoke with all of the confidence that I could muster. He snickered and started to shut the door.

"Fuck off, little bitch, you don't know what you're messing with-."

"Y/N?" I looked past the man, my eyes widening as Harrison walked towards me. His eyes widened as he properly saw me.

"Harrison." I smiled.

"Y/N, oh my god, it's really you! It's been too long!" he laughed as the blond boy pushed the guard to the side before hugging me.

"It's great to see you too." I chuckled and returned the hug.

"Come in, come in. What are you doing here? I had no idea that Tom had ever told you about what his family did." he stated as he gently led me into the house.

"He told me just before I went to uni. But I didn't believe it until today. When the bank that I was in got robbed, but they stopped and got out of there as soon as they saw me. Basically, I have a lot of questions." I nodded, making Harrison return it as he led me along a corridor.

"I'm sure that you do. But I can answer the one about why Tom's men left you alone right now. He has a list called the "Do not touch" list. Well, it's not a list, you're the only one on it. Basically, everyone in the mob is warned from the moment that they join that if they so much as touch a hair on your head, Tom will kill them. Other mob leaders also get told that they'll have a war on their hands if they simply look at you in a way that Tom doesn't like. You're fully protected from everything by one of the biggest mob leaders in the UK." he admitted. My eyes widened and I looked at him.

"What? Tom threatens death on anyone who touches me? Why would he do that?" I scoffed.

"Lets just say that maybe there was more to just friendship when you guys were close." he nodded. My eyes widened further, making Harrison wink at me as he opened the door that we'd reached. I looked into the room, my eyes widening as I wandered in. The room appeared to be a classic study, filled with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves against every wall. A plush sofa sat on the wall that held the door, a massive mahogany desk occupying the middle of the room and surrounded by three chairs. I looked up, my eyes wavering as he stood by the window with his back turned to me. A cigarette was in between his fingers, his other hand comfortably in his trouser pocket as he looked out of the window.

"What is it now, Haz?" he mumbled, making me gulp as I tried not to cry. God, I had missed his voice.

"You're going to want to look for yourself." Harrison nodded as he gave me a small smile. I returned it and bit my lip. Tom turned around and looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. But as soon as he saw me, his face softened, his gorgeous brown eyes lighting up. I bit my lip, my heart jumping as I looked at him. He had grown a lot since we had been friends. His hair was as beautiful as ever, his hazel curls being shaped into a well-styled quiff. His eyes hadn't changed at all, if anything the chocolate colour of them had become more prominent and breathtaking. And what I could see of his body, fuck. His shoulders were now very broad, and I could tell from how tightly his suit jacket and white shirt were hugging him that he was ripped underneath the fabric. Why had I ever let him go?

"Y/N...I never thought that I'd see you again, my god, look at you." he smiled, making me return it and blush slightly as his eyes flicked up and down my body. Did he honestly like what he saw as much as I liked what I saw? I certainly hoped so.

"I never thought that I'd see you again either. Looks like you're doing well for yourself." I teased. He smirked and nodded as he put his cigarette out on the ashtray on his desk before shoving his hands into his trouser pockets.

"You could say that." he chuckled as he walked around the table and leant against it before looking at me.

"So, as lovely as it is to see you, what are you doing here?" he scoffed and shook his head.

"You had the guys rob the bank that she happened to be in this morning, and she heard them say that she was "Do not touch"." Harrison nodded. Tom chuckled and shook his head as he looked down.

"Fucking idiots. That's embarrassing, isn't it?" he smiled as he looked back up at me.

"I actually think that it's quite sweet, Tommy. It's nice to know that no one can harm me without fear of death from such a dangerous man." I teased.

"Yeah, darling?" he smirked, making me bite my lip and nod. Tom looked at me, the cogs in his brain clearly turning.

"Haz, leave us. Tell no one to disturb me for the next ten minutes." he ordered as his eyes stayed on me. I bit my lip, my heart pounding in my chest as I wondered what he was going to do. Though, I had to admit that I loved how he was looking at me right now.

"Don't go too hard on him, Y/N." Harrison teased, making me smirk and look at him over my shoulder as he left the study and closed the door. I turned back to Tom and raised an eyebrow, making his smirk widen as he looked at me.

"You've got a lot of explaining to do, Thomas Stanley Holland, including why I'm on a "Do not touch" list." I teased and crossed my arms over my chest, making him laugh.

"You're on my "Do not touch" list because you mean too much to me for anyone to go after you because of me. Everyone who knows me, including my enemies, has known about my feelings for you since I became the head of this mob. And so the way to keep you safe was to threaten death to anyone who touched you." he explained. My eyebrows furrowed, my heart jumping at his words.

"Your feelings for me?" I questioned. He chuckled and nodded, his finger awkwardly scratching his eyebrow as he looked down.

"I like you, Y/N. I always did. And so, yeah, you made it into the "Do not touch" list. I'd also love to take you out to dinner, explain everything in a romantic setting." he smiled, making me laugh and nod.

"Good, because you owe me a lot of answers. But, sure. A romantic dinner sounds nice." I chuckled.

"Brilliant. I look forward to it." he spoke, making me smile and bite my lip.

That had been two years ago. Things had moved very quickly between Tom and I, him having proposed to me within months of us being together. Though, it was definitely a night to remember.

"Tommy, I don't like this." I chuckled, my boyfriend's hands covering my eyes and my hands over his as he carefully walked me along.

"Just trust me, I promise that it'll be worth it." he returned the chuckle into my ear, making me smile and bite my lip as he gently kissed my cheek. I yelped slightly as suddenly Tom stopped, making me stop too.

"Okay, and...open." he mumbled as he moved his hands. My eyes fluttered open, a gasp leaving my lips as we stood in our garden. But it wasn't just our normal garden. Fairy lights were strung up and hung from all of the trees, lighting the place up and making it look like something out of a fairy tale.

"Tommy." I breathed out, my eyes glued to the scene as I walked further into the garden.

"You like it, sweetheart?" he asked, his lip in between his teeth and his hands in his pockets. I looked at him.

"I love it. But why? It's not a big anniversary, or a special occasion or anything." I chuckled and shook my head as he curled his arms around my waist and I rested my hands against his chest.

"No, but it's still a special night." he stated. My eyebrows furrowed at him.

"How come?" I questioned. He bit his lip and took my hand into his as he got down on one knee. My eyes widened, a choke leaving my lips as he pulled a ring box out of his pocket.

"Tommy." I gulped, my shaking hands raising to cover my mouth. He bit his lip and looked up at me, a nervous smile on his lips.

"I know that we've only been dating for a few months, so I fully appreciate how quick this is, but I've fallen for you so hard. I put you on the "Do not touch" list because I figured that I'd never see you again, but I still wanted to protect you. So, when you walked into my study that day, well...it felt like fate. I believe that we're meant to be together, and I don't ever want to let that go. So, Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?" he gulped as he opened the small box to reveal a stunning diamond engagement ring. I bit my lip, tears streaming down my face. Tom was right that we'd only been together for a half a year, but he was also right to say that this felt like fate. It had always felt like fate. And so I knew immediately what my answer was.

"Yes, Tommy. Yes, I'll marry you!" I laughed and nodded. A breathless laugh left his lips, a tear falling from his eye as he stood up. He immediately took my face in his hands and pressed our lips together, me returning the kiss as I held his face.

"Let's see if it fits." he smiled, making me giggle and nod as we both looked down at my hand. Tom gently slid the ring onto my finger, my lip in between my teeth as it fit like a glove. I looked at him.

"It's perfect, Tommy." I choked.

"It'll never be as perfect as you." he whispered and shook his head. I smiled at him, him returning it as he leant down and pressed our lips together again.

So, that was the story of how I'd ended up here. Sat on my husband's mahogany desk with one leg crossed over the other and my hands casually pressed to the wood as I watched him beat the shit out of the guy who had grabbed my arse in the club when we had gone out the night before. That was just one of the perks of being Tom's wife, the "Do not touch" rule now applied to everyone caught touching me at all, not just other mob bosses and members. Not to mention that Tom was stone-cold to everyone but me. He even left something to be desired in terms of affection for Harrison and his family. But he was sweet to me and only me, and I didn't mind that at all. I tilted my head to the side, enjoying the show as Tom drove his fist into the man's face.

"You think that you can sexually assault my wife and get away with it? Fucking think again." Tom spat, his knuckles bloody as he sent another punch to the man's face as he lay on the ground.

"I'm sorry! I didn't realise that she was your wife!" the man sobbed. I scoffed and raised my eyebrows, Tom giving me the same look before his gaze went back to the man.

"Okay, so it's alright to sexually assault another woman, as long as she's not the wife of a powerful man? Piece of shit!" he shouted with venom in his voice as he stood up straight and launched his foot into the man's stomach. He cried out, the force of the kick turning him over onto his back.

"Get him out of my fucking sight and finish him off." Tom spat. His men nodded and grabbed the man as Tom picked up his handkerchief and started to wipe the blood off of his knuckles.

"Sorry that you had to see that, darling." he sighed.

"Tommy, we've been together for two years now. I've very used to seeing you beat up other men in my honour. I might even say that I find it very hot." I teased, making Tom smirk as I pulled him by his belt to stand in between my now parted legs.

"Oh, yeah, love? Like seeing me powerful and jealous?" he mumbled as he hovered his lips over mine. I nodded and bit my lip, making him look over his shoulder at the door.

"I'd say that we have half an hour whilst they take care of him." he nodded as he looked back at me.

"You know that that's more than enough time." I continued to flirt, making him smirk and nod as I pulled him further in between my legs by his belt and leant up to join our lips together.
