IMAGINE: Yours and Loki's baby coming early
| IMAGINE for @obidala-starwars |
"Would you like any tea, Y/N?" Peggy Carter, your best friend, asks. She was frozen with Steve Rogers in the ice.
You smile at her and rest a hand on your pregnant stomach. "No, thank you." You tell her. You're married to Loki and you're seven and a half months pregnant with his child.
"How's Loki doing with the pregnancy?" Peggy asks.
You laugh softly. "He's a nervous wreck." You admit. "I'm just glad he's close to Thor and that he hasn't given in to his Frost Giant form. Thor doesn't realize how much Loki needs him."
Peggy smiles. "It's a good thing then that he's making his way into the Avengers."
"That it is." You reply. You gasp. "Oh." You breathe, pain cinching your abdomen.
Peggy's eyebrows draw. "Y/N, are you all right?"
You swallow and give her a reassuring smile. "It's-it's just the baby. It's very active." You respond. You cry out, clutching your stomach, the pain intensifying.
"Y/N!" Peggy exclaims, going to your side. "What is it? What's wrong?" She asks worriedly.
You shake your head. "The baby...I think it's coming. But it's too early." You grit out, sounding panicked.
"Come on, we need to get you to a hospital." Peggy says, gently helping you off the couch. You groan. "It's okay, it's okay, it's okay." She breathes, rubbing your back. Her face is pale with fear.
---
Peggy leaves you in the hospital to go find Loki, who's in a cafe with the rest of the Avengers, including Wanda Maximoff, Sam Wilson, Jane Foster, and Pepper Potts.
Peggy rushes into the cafe and quickly glances over it until she spots the Avengers. "Loki!' She cries, running towards the table.
"Peggy?" Steve asks in surprise.
The Avengers look at her and Loki stands up. "What's wrong? Where's Y/N?" He asks worriedly.
"She's-she's in the hospital. She went into...labor early." Peggy pants. Loki pulls his chair back and takes off running out of the cafe.
---
It's been ten hours. Ten hours of intense labor. Loki is sweating just as much as you are. He's freaking out and you're trying to calm him down. "It'll be fine. We'll be fine." You breathe with exhaustion. He nods, his skin white.
"Loki, you need to breathe. You look like you're about to pass out." Thor instructs. Loki begged Thor to be in the delivery room with the two of you. Loki takes a few deep breaths as you grip onto the bed railings, pushing.
"That's it, Y/N, that's it." The doctor murmurs. "Yes one more push."
You nod and let out a gasp, breathing hard. You glance at Loki. "It's okay." You encourage, giving him a weak smile.
"Push, Y/N." The doctor commands. You push, feeling the strength come off of you in waves. The doctor lets out an exclamation of joy.
"It's a girl!" She proclaims just as an earsplitting cry fills the ear. Thor starts laughing and claps Loki on the back, grinning like a mad man. You sigh with relief and sink into the pillows, panting.
Loki gasps as the doctor puts your daughter in your arms. "Oh, she's precious." He whispers, sitting beside you.
"She's so tiny." You murmur. You look at the doctor worriedly. "Will she be okay?" You ask.
She nods and smiles. "She looks very healthy for being premature. I think she'll do wonderful." She answers. You look at Loki and you both smile at each other. He places a kiss on your lips.
"I'm so proud of you." He whispers.
You grin. "I'm so proud you didn't faint." You laugh softly. He laughs and kisses your head.
---
After Loki has held your daughter, Thor clears his throat. "Would-would it be all right if I held her?" He asks tentatively.
You smile at him. "Oh, of course, Thor." You say.
He shifts. "I've-I've never held a baby before though." He admits.
Loki stands, grinning. "Neither have I before this moment and look how well I'm doing." He says. He starts to hand your daughter over to Thor. "Come on, she wants her uncle." Loki tells him, placing your daughter in his brother's arms. Thor dwarfs your baby. You laugh tiredly.
"So what are you going to name her?" Thor asks.
Loki glances at you and you give him a nod. He looks at Thor. "Y/N and I love the name Elsa. After the actress Elsa Pataky." He tells him.
Thor smiles. "I love it. It's beautiful." He murmurs. He looks down at the child in his arms. "Hello, Elsa." He coos softly.
You turn on your side, feeling the exhaustion of your labor. You knew you'd be tired, but not this tired. You can't keep your eyes open.
"Y/N? Are you okay?" Loki asks.
"I'm just tired." You whisper.
"Y/N, you're really pale." He says worriedly.
You shake your head, but even that takes too much effort. "I-I-I just...need...to...sleep...." You whisper lowly, your eyes fluttering closed.
"Doctor! Doctor!" Loki screams, running to the door. You let out a groan and your head slumps forward.
"Loki!" Thor shouts. Loki stops and looks at his brother who's staring at you, horrified.
Thor slowly looks at Loki. "I think she just died." He whispers.
---
"I am so terribly sorry, Loki. I don't even know what to say." The doctor says, her tone full of remorse and her eyes full of tears. Loki just stands there, staring at her, numb from shock. Doctors came running into your room seconds after you died. They did everything they could to revive you as Thor and Loki watched on in horror and shock. In the end, they weren't able to save you.
"I thought Y/N was strong enough to birth Elsa, but the labor put too much strain on her body...I'm so sorry..." The doctor trails off.
"Thank you." Loki whispers. He backs away from the doctor and looks at you laying on the bed. He glances at Thor, who's still holding Elsa. His head is bowed and he's silently crying.
Loki, his eyes wide, moves to your side. "Y/N." He whispers, sitting on the bed. "Come back. Please come back." He pleads, his voice cracking. "Please." He sobs, resting his forehead against yours. "I can't live without you. I can't live without my wife. Elsa can't live without her mother." He weeps. He wraps his arms around you and cradles you to his chest, his face buried in your hair. "Y/N, please don't leave me. Please." He whispers.
Elsa starts to cry and Loki looks at his daughter. He glances at Thor whose chin is quivering. "What do I do?" Loki whispers.
"She wants her father." Thor answers.
"No, she wants her mother." Loki chokes out.
Thor gently hands Loki Elsa. "She needs you, brother. She needs you now." He whispers.
Loki glances down at Elsa who's now just staring up at him, her eyes wide. He smiles and sniffs. "Hello, my love." He sighs, before kissing her forehead. He cradles her protectively. "I will watch over you and keep you safe. I promise." He whispers.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
