Trusting An Assassin. 💛
Memories.
Memories for dreams again.
Painful and horrible memories.
Same one for the past few months.
Killing people.
Not in control.
No one was stopping me.
Being an Assassin Angel, one of the most powerful assassin ever.
Once I was in, I was an angel with a shotgun for the rest of my life. I got a tattoo of an angel wing with a knife at the end of it on the back of my left shoulder as a sign that I was a part of them. Once I was no longer in control, I ran away from the Assassin Angels' base but I was now hunted down like a wanted criminal. I killed people, I stole weapons, information and some tech from other places. I was a criminal.
I found two men that gave me a dangerous job which I excepted. They knew about my criminal record but they covered me so I wouldn't get caught. It seemed to work since no one knew who I was so I felt safe for once in my life.
"Captain, This is Agent L/N. She'll be helping us with the investigation." Bill said to a man who I supposed was the captain. He had baby blue eyes and brown hair. He was tall and muscular, but not too much. The captain reached his hand out and said with his British accent,
"Captain Conrad. Its good to see you, L/N."
"It's a pleasure to be here." I said and shook his hand. His hands were warm and big. Once Bill left the room, Conrad made his way to his desk.
"Coffee?"
"No thank you. I already had some today but I will sit down." I said sitting down on the chair in front of the desk. He sat on his desk chair and sighed.
"So, Why are you doing this when you know that this is a dangerous mission, too dangerous for a woman?" He said opening a folder that had my name on it. I didn't freak out since Bill and Houston promised that they would give them a fake file with some of my records but not all of it.
"Just because I'm a woman, doesn't mean I am not capable of this sort of mission. As I said, I'm an Agent. I have been trained ever since I was 14 and I have lots of experience with this." I said as I leaned to the desk and Conrad looked away from the folder to look at me.
"Hmm. I see. What sort of missions do you go on?" He asked and I sat still, very still. I know he was trying to get to know every bit of me.
"I'm afraid that's classified information, Captian." A small huff of laughter came out of him, as he leaned against his seat, with a satisfied smirk.
"Anything that's not classified?"
I kept telling him lies so I wouldn't get caught. He seemed to believe my every lie which made me feel bad for lying. I wanted to tell the truth for once in the last 2 months. Sometimes I love to lie, but most of the time, I hate it.
I realized that he was patient and seemed to enjoy my company. I could see it in his eyes. His wonderful blue eyes.
Wait, what?
Did I seriously just think about his eyes?
But they are flawless.
His excelling thin lip and his perfect hair.
Even his voice Is like silk.
Oh My God! He is just so perfect!
Wait!
What's wrong with me?
I never felt this way before.
Don't tell me I'm...
In love?!
"I guess you're in, L/N. Now get some rest. You're gonna need it." He said shaking my hand.
"O-Oh, Thank you, Captain." I said then left the office and went to do as I was told but Conrad and the nightmares were filling my head.
Time skip:
Explosions.
Lost a few men.
Holding a loaded shotgun.
By Conrad's side.
A giant flipping monkey!
Got separated.
"It's getting dark. I'll get firewood while you set up the tent. We'll get some sleep tonight then we'll continue finding the others early in the morning." Conrad said to me and I nodded while grabbing the test bag.
Once I finished setting the tent for two, since we couldn't grab two tents, Conrad came back carrying stacks of broken branches and dead palm leaves. His muscles showing and his sweat dripping.
Snap out of It, Y/N!
The heat is taking over you!
"L/N?" Conrad said and I looked into his crystal blue eyes.
"Y-yes, Conrad?" I asked and he sighed.
"It's James." He mumbled looking away.
"James. Why don't you let people use your name?" I asked and he sat down on the ground next to me.
"I hate it." He said staring into the fire.
"I like the name 'James.'" I said and he looked at me surprised.
"Doesn't everyone know your name, except for me?"
"No. I seem to trust you more than anyone else, for some reason."
He trusts me?!
"But do you trust me more than anyone else?" He asked and I saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"Y-yes, James. Of course, I do. I feel a lot safer when you're with me." I said then started blushing madly at what I said.
"W-Well since I trusted you to tell you my secret. Do you trust me to tell one of your secrets to me?" He said with a slight smirk.
I blushed.
What should I tell him?
That I'm a criminal or that I like him?
My head was reeling and I blurted out,
"I'm a criminal."
"What?" He asked eyes widened and I started tearing up.
"I-I'm a criminal," I repeated and he looked sad and concerned.
"What did you do?" He asked. I sighed and tried to calm down a bit.
"Just...don't freak out," I said then turned my back on him and took off my green tank top to show my tattoo.
"Y-You're a-." He said but stopped.
"An Assassin Angel? Yup. I was forced to be in and I got mind-controlled. A few years later, I got electrocuted by lightning and I wasn't controlled anymore. I ran away from their headquarters and stayed hidden." I said then grabbed my tank top and put it on.
"There's my secret. My deepest, darkest secret." I said then walked to the tent but James made me stop by grabbing my forearm. I turned to see what he wanted and he looks at me with his crystal blue eyes.
"You're not a criminal, Y/N. You're just misunderstood, controlled. I promise that no one will harm because of what you did." He said. He let go of my arm and tears started forming in my eyes. I sat down next to him and hugged him.
"Thank you," I whispered in his ear and he hugged me back. We were there for almost an hour but as soon as I fell asleep, he carried me to the tent, put me in the sleeping bag and I could feel something touch my forehead, something warm and sort of soft.
A few days later, James was always there to keep me company on this dangerous mission and he was always by my side. But now we were going home. I got nervous.
"Y/N? Are you alright?'
"I'm frightened. I have no place to go. No place to stay and no one wants a criminal. I don't know what to do, James." I said.
"You are not a criminal, Y/N. You're just misunderstood. Trust me." James said turning towards me and placing his hands on my shoulders but I just stood there. James then sighed and removed his hands on my shoulders.
"Well, then, I guess I will take you in with me. You can be a free woman again like you always wanted." James mumbled looking away and rubbing the back of his neck, trying to make sure I didn't hear what he just said but I heard every word that came out of his mouth. I smiled brightly and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, James!" I said as I let go of him and then ran to Houston that I was ready to go. I grabbed my bags and left with him.
A month later, I lived with James as a very happy couple in a beautiful house and James got enough money to remove half of my tattoo, mostly the blade part which made me very relieved and free. He can home into our apartment and showed me that he got a tattoo on his right shoulder that was like mine to show that we would still be together, even when we die and our souls become angels.
