IMAGINE: Comforting Draco
You hurry up the steps to your favorite turret at Hogwarts. It's a secluded tower away from the rest of the castle and you go there most nights since it's seldom occupied.
Once you reach the top of the stairs, you stop and pull up straight. The door to the room at the top of the stairs is slightly opened. You always shut it before you leave. You swallow and slowly walk forward, the floor creaking beneath your step. You wince.
You hear someone softly weeping and your eyebrows furrow deeply. You peek through the crack of the door and see Draco Malfoy, leaned up against the window, the sun shining down on his tear streaked face.
"Draco? Are you all right?" You ask, opening the door wider. He looks up at you in horror and then quickly turns away, brushing the tears off his cheeks.
He sniffs and then glares at you. "Y/N, what are you doing up here?" He asks coldly.
"Um, this is kind of the place where I like to hang out." You answer. "What are you doing here?" You question, slowly walking into the room.
"I had to get away from the stupid dollop-heads at the castle." Draco hisses.
"Oh, how nice." You say dryly.
He scoffs at you. "That includes you, Y/N." He answers.
You lean against the window beside him, your arms crossed. "Well, I think you should be the one leaving, Draco, not me. This is my place." You state.
"Is your name on it?" Draco asks, narrowing his eyes at you.
You straighten and look away. "Uh, no..." You answer, before biting you lip nervously.
"Then this isn't your place. So get out." He replies. He looks back out the window, his jaw clenching.
You sigh and push yourself off the wall. "Fine, whatever." You sigh.
You start to walk out of the room when you stop. You slowly turn around and stare at Draco thoughtfully.
"This is because your father is abusing you, isn't it?" You ask randomly.
Draco whirls around. "What?!" He exclaims.
"The reason why you were crying—your dad finally did something to push you off the edge and you had to find refuge somewhere." You say pointedly.
There's no more anger in Draco's eyes as he gazes at you. Instead, his eyes fill with tears and he hiccups on a sob. He turns away, crying softly. Your heart goes out to him.
"I can't stand him anymore, Y/N." He weeps.
"Draco." You whisper, rushing over to him.
You put your hand on his back comfortingly and he looks at you, misery in his beautiful grey eyes. He suddenly hugs you and you remain stiff in shock for a second before hugging him back, patting his back. You let Draco cry against you for a long while as you whisper words of encouragement for him.
He finally sniffs and pulls back, his tears somewhat subsiding. "I-I'm sorry." He mutters.
You smile sympathetically at him. "It's okay, Draco. I'm sure what you're going through is really rough." You say.
Draco runs a hand through his hair and pulls his shoulders back, a hard look back on his face. His demeanor has changed and you're not liking it.
"Well, no matter. He's my father and I will just have to deal with it." He states.
"Draco, no-" You start to protest until he shoots you an icy glare.
"Goodbye, Y/N." He says as he starts to walk away. He suddenly grabs your arm and pulls you close.
"If you ever tell anyone what happened here today, I'll separate your head from your shoulders." He hisses threateningly.
You stare at him in shock as he draws away from you and leaves the room. You let out a breath as soon as you hear his footsteps presiding.
"Dollop-head." You mutter, before walking out of the room and shutting the door behind you.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
