Fun fact: J.R.R. Tolkien was in a writers club (along with C.S. Lewis) and whenever he brought a new part of his story (LOTR) nobody was exited about it. So you're not the only ones who don't like his deep way of writing. (That is, of course, if you didn't like that style of writing. I myself, do.)
