Fun fact kinda thing: Elves in armor are often portrayed in super cool plate armor.

Yeah, you get the point.

*clears throat* Anywho, Tolkien never really mentions cool plate kind of armor, as far as I'm concerned. He does however mention mail, as in chainmail (oh yeah, that's right, we're just going out to battle in some flimsy junkmail! Let's go, men! Finrod, no wonder you got injured in that one fight! Fingolfin, how do you expect to survive a fight with Morgoth when you're wearing leftover hate mail from Feanor? "Fingon, Maedhros told you to come to the battle well-armed  how do you expect to fight the enemy wearing paper?!" "Well, sorry, dude, Maedhros said to come In our best mail..." "... He meant Chainmail, you knucklehead! Now go home and change before Gothmog gets here!" XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD I couldn't resist XD), many times.

So, as cool as the plate armor is, it might not be completely accurate to Tolkien's original design. But, it still looks cool anyways. :)
