Contrary to popular belief, Nerdanel doesn't have red hair. Her father does, and I believe most of her brothers do, and maybe her sisters... Okay, I'm pretty sure Nerdanel has brothers, but does she have sisters? Wow okay, I don't know much about Nerdanel, aside from her father is Mahtan the Smith, her husband was Fëanor, her sons were the magnificent seven... Yeah.

Anyway, Nerdanel did not have any flaming locks, as many fan-artists believe, she has brown hair with red highlights or something. Sorry everyone. XP ;)
