This is not a trivia. It's more of a fun fact. It could be classified as as a rant, I guess. Anyways, here we goes.

Peter Jackson depicted elves as having long hair, and that seems to have led to the fans thinking that elves have long hair, and thus, they draw, describe, and otherwise picture them with long hair (for the most part). But before that, they weren't really. In the animated 1976 LOTR, the elves in it have... 70s hair. *snickering in the background*. One thing I was wondering was: Why did Peter Jackson depict them as having long hair? Did something in Tolkien's works say something about it? The answer is: yes.

Token describes several individual elves as having "flowing" hair, which kinda means long, and then, whilst reading The Lays of Beleriand, there were a few passages that talked about "the long-haired hosts", and those passages were talking about elves. So, yes; I believe that elves, it certain kinds at least, have long hair.
