Here's a little comic I found on the Pinterest. This has never really happened to me, but the mere thought of the disappointment that would occur... :(

And one more thing: Once, I decided to search 'The Silmarillion' on Pinterest once, and was of course, bombarded by a barrage of fan-arts. It's my impression that the common belief is that there are next to no Silmarillion fans, but if that's the case then where'd all this fan-art come from?! Is it that every Silmarillion fan ever devotes all their time to making and posting their fan-at on the web to show how hipster/geek/nerd they are? Or is it that there are actually that many Silmarillion fans, but they're too widespread for them to make connections, or... What? And for the most part the pictures are really well drawn, though not always how I  pictured the character but... It's not like Tolkien gives in depth character descriptions, as he seems to like the landscape better, but that's probably just me. *people picture Beleg with dark hair, and Mablung with blond? And of course everyone knows(or should know)that Feanor had dark hair, but you've no idea the surprise and indignation I felt when I saw that someone had drawn Thingol with dark hair. It clearly states that Thingol has(or should I say had silver hair. :'()but still... yeah*

So, there you have it. A web comic about disappointment, and a bit about the numerous fan-at that populates the interwebs.
