"What was that?" I asked.

"That was a venomous snake" replied Emunah, taking off her clothes worn around her arm and chest and putting it around her leg.

"What should we do now?" I asked impatient.

"There is no more to do. I'm slowing down my death so I can give you the last instruction for your way back"

"What?" I cried "No way, I am going to let you die, there should be something...a cure"

Emunah shook her head and put her finger before her mouth.

"You can't give up so easily! Let's find a way!"

"My only way is silence now and I know you want to help me but for the sake of everyone I must die"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

In that exact moment an idea came through my mind, the revelation caused by the chaos of that moment. Before she could even reply, I added "I know why you are doing this! You are protecting a secret! We came here with the intention to find a miraculous cure and I believe you know what it is all about. Am I wrong?" "I don't know what are you talking about" she replied

"Oh yes you do, but you need to protect this information" I said coming closer and looking in her eyes. "Listen, I am a writer and I don't care about this stuff, I only want to save you"

"It's impossible" she replied "You are all the same, all you care about is money, power, you forgot the respect and the connection with the entire planet!"

"I am not like the rest" I said back "Trust me, do you trust me?"

"Sorry Scott it's not that I don't trust you, I can't have faith in mankind, just in something bigger"

"I will prove you wrong!" I answered back

"What do you want to do?" she asked curious

"The thing you wanted to teach me all this time: connect to my subconscious to have the answers I need"

As I closed my eyes, I started repeating myself that I wanted to dream until I felt asleep. The motivation I set was effective because for the first time I became lucid and conscious in my dreams. I needed to remain calm if not I'd wake up. I asked to the dream to show me the cure for the venom and where I could find it. Suddenly a group of frogs appeared and a giant one was following them. I came closer and the biggest one said to walk with them. We roamed around until we reached the place where I felt asleep. My body wasn't there anymore. We started running until we reached a small break into the rocks. We entered it and I saw just a pool of water. All the frogs jumped in it and the circles that the movement of the water made, created the word dive. As I was underwater I saw many fishes eating a strange plant growing on the bottom of the pool. I swam towards it and I grabbed a little leaf, but the moment I touched it, I woke up.

This was it! I understood what I needed to do. I followed the road i saw in my dream and I reached the pool of water inside the cave. The passage was narrow and I needed to bend like a elastic rubber to get inside. Smoke was coming from the surface of the water. It was hot water. I jumped in. On the same spot I was in the dream, I saw those long leaves moving slowly, following the rhythm of the underwater life. I took many of them and I thanked in my head the abundance of those plant forms. I reemerged.

When I made my way back to Emunah, she was asleep so I put a part of those plants on her heel and then I woke her up to make her eat some. She was very weak and she couldn't understand  the situation, so she didn't oppose to the food I was giving  her. After that I lighted the fire to keep her warm and I hoped that the dream I had was about the real cure Emunah needed to survive. I felt asleep again worried because last time I checked her heel was getting bigger and bigger and the skin was breaking and shedding into black pieces surrounded by a yellow substance.

The day after I woke up at sunrise and I checked Emunah conditions. I was afraid that the poison had reached her heart and killed her during the night, but she was still breathing. She was sleeping like a little child and her face was emotionless and serene. I removed the leaves from the snake bite and I saw that the dark skin detached from her body and a completely new skin had grown again just beneath. I was very surprised and I cleaned her heel leaving the leaves on it. I waited the moment she woke up and when she did she was very confused.

"Where I am? What did just happened to me? Who are you?" She asked.

"Don't you remember me?" I replied with a smile. Suddenly I remembered about the man in the pictures that was found without his memories . No way I thought. I didn't think about that and now Emunah didn't know who she was.

"I don't know how I ended up here, much less who you are" She said, watching around her in a terrified way.

"Okay calm down, it is hard to explain right now, but I need you to trust me, you have been bitten and now you need some rest"

"What? I have been bitten?" she cried.

In a moment I realized it was useless to make her remember and I needed to scare her the less I could. At least she was alright and I would have found the solution for this problem later on.

"Forget about what I told you. I just need you to trust me, can you do it?"

"I don't know who I am or where I am, why should I trust you?" she replied.

This conversation lasted for a long time until I proved her I didn't mean any harm.

Our roles inverted and I needed to guide her with the things she had showed me until the day before. I explained her ways of getting food, how to hunt or whatever she had taught me, but it was useless , she didn't remember and she thought that what I was telling her were lies and nonsense stuff. It took half my effort to convince her to walk and the other half to go up the mountain. That moment I remembered what Mara said before leaving. At first I didn't pay attention to it, but now I knew what it meant, except the last part.

"Don't fight each other, the mountain will challenge you and facing it, you will love it"
