Thirty Three
Jin's soulmate sighed as she walked out of the youngest's room, and swiftly shut the door behind her. After a long session of putting Ha-Na to sleep with sedatives to reduce her pain and anxiety, and treating her wounds, she left the younger girl in Jungkook's hands. She couldn't shake off the look on Jungkook's face as he sat on the corner of their bed, watching her with reaper eyes. If she made one mistake, there would be no doubt that he would throw hands. The woman understood him completely however, just seeing your other half in such a condition would cause tension.
Right out in the hall, the other girls were waiting, sitting along the wall.
"How is she?" Jimin's soulmate asked.
"Ha-Na's alright," she answered. "The cuts are superficial, so just some dressing were in order. She's asleep right now, but Jungkook is watching her."
They all nodded. Hoseok's soulmate was the first to stand from the floor. She looked at her sister and frowned.
"Does Jungkook know about her eyes?"
Everyone tensed upon the mention of those black, fury burned orbs. When her soft brown eyes faded to black, she was a different person- no longer the sweet, timid but docile girl that they were so used to. They have seen it first hand when she drove a knife into the man's eye, and pulled the eyeball out right with the blade. His screams echoed through their heads, but Ha-Na's blood lustful and merciless eyes burned into their skulls.
Jin's soulmate bit her lip. She shook her head. The woman decided to hold off on it- Jungkook was still recovering, surely the news of his soulmate being like the Tokki would cause him to go off the edge. Jungkook's mind was still in shambles after waking up to his soulmate covered in cuts, it was best to keep it to themselves for now, just until both of them were healed.
Jungkook looked at Ha-Na with hurt eyes- she continued to sleep peacefully, despite the worried aura radiating from his body. He held her smaller hand in both of his, hoping that his warmth was reaching her heart. Ha-Na's soft breathing console his heart to some degree, but seeing bandages cover her arms and face cause his soul to roar in pain.
"Ha-Na..." he whispered. "Why...? Why did you do it?"
His scratchy voice went unanswered and he sighed. Ever so slowly, not agitating his wound, Jungkook reached for the hair covering her face, brushing them out if the way.
"Please wake up soon, I want to hear your voice..."
Jungkook was surprised when Ha-Na mumbled lightly. She even squeezed his hand with as much strength as she could muster. He smiled softly at her, for now, he was tamed by the warmth of her hand. Ha-Na was still with him.
Meanwhile, downstairs, the rest of the family was in the living room. All twelve of them were in a tense and heated discussion about Ha-Na and Jungkook. The topic of Ha-Na's eyes and their compatibility as an unstoppable team was on the table.
"When it comes down to it, the decision is ultimately in their hands," Namjoon sighed, running his hand through his hair. "If Ha-Na want to fight with us, and Jungkook approves of it, then we are a stronger force. But if things go in the opposite direction, then we have to accommodate to protect Ha-Na."
"So the ball is in their court?" Taehyung's soulmate chimed in.
The leader nodded. "But, let's not pressure them right now, they need to time to heal."
