Chapter Two: Strange Feelings
Chapter Two: Strange Feelings
Bakura had followed Ryo into the bathroom, but it wouldn't be until later when he would get into the shower with him. He didn't want Ryo to possibly see that there was something wrong with him. That there was a possibility that he was fading away suddenly. This worried him. Not for himself, but for Ryo. He didn't know what Ryo would do if he wasn't around like he's always been.
"Bakura? Way are you just sitting there. Is there something wrong?" Ryo pocked his head out from behind the shower curtain. His long white hair stuck to his forehead from the water and his big doe drown eyes looked at Bakura with worry.
"Nothing's wrong Yadonushi. I just don't feel like getting in today. You just enjoy your shower."
Enjoy your shower? Bakura had never said anything like that to Ryo before, and Ryo knew this. There was something seriously wrong with Bakura, Ryo could tell.
"Bakura..." Ryo opened the shower curtain all the way, exposing himself completely. He opened his arms as if wanting to embrace his Yami.
"What's this?" Bakura questioned.
"It's called a hug Bakura. Just come here."
A flush of pink washed over Bakura's face. Slowly he made his way over to Ryo and collapsed his body on top of his. It had been such a long time since he felt such warmth of a loving feeling from someone else. After all the horrible things Bakura had done to Ryo, his Yadonushi still treated him with such love.
"I don't deserve Yadonushi. After all the horrible things I did to him. After the hell I put him through, he still treats me in such a loving way. He forgives me for every little thing I did to him. Even when I fuck everything up so bad." Bakura gripped tightly onto Ryo. He didn't want to let him go, but when he looked at his hand he saw that he was starting to fade once again. He really was going to disappear on Ryo, and there was nothing he could do about it to stop it.
"Yadonushi, if I was to disappear all of a sudden, what would you do?" Bakura suddenly asked as his grip grew even tighter.
"What do you mean Bakura? You said you would never leave me. Why are you saying something like that?" Ryo almost broke out into a sudden panic.
"Calm down Yadonushi, it was just a question. I'm not going to leave you, but you never know, there may come a day when I no longer can be by your side. So, what would you do?"
Bakura pulled away from Ryo's embrace and sat on the edge of the tub with Ryo's hands tightly in his. He wanted an answer, he wanted to know if his Yadonushi would really be okay if he was to disappear on him.
"I-I don't know what I would do. You've been with me as long as I can remember. You are a part of me and I would like to think that I am a part of you. I know you don't like to hear it but, I would like to think we're like Yugi and the Pharaoh, we're part of each other, and if I were to lose you it would be like losing a part of myself."
"Why? Why did you have to say it like that? True, I would usually get pissed when you mention Yugi and that damn Pharaoh, but for once I agree with you. If things were different back then, and if I would've meet you in a different way, losing you would also be like losing a piece of myself as well. Damn, why did you do this to me Yadonushi?"
Bakura couldn't help but feel like his been the biggest dumb-ass in the entire afterlife. He was lucky to have someone like Ryo has his host. If it was anyone else things would be totally different. With Ryo's hands still in his Bakura gently kissed his host's pale knuckles. Ryo's face turned an even brighter red then it already was from the hot steaming shower. He didn't know what was up with his Yami, but all he wanted was for them to be together.
"Bakura, please tell me what's wrong. You're not acting like yourself at all. You've been more loving towards me lately, and it's been great, but now... you're worrying me a little." This time it was Ryo who placed Bakura's hands in his and tightly gripped onto his Yami's hands. He looked up into Bakura's slightly darker doe drown eyes that almost seemed to be red with his own doe drown eyes. "Please, tell me."
"Don't worry Yadonushi. Let's not worry about it right know. I just... I want to shower with you, if that's alright."
For the rest of the day all Bakura did was observe Ryo and his activities. There wasn't much to observe since Ryo was one again working on another diorama for his father. It was boring looking to Bakura, but Ryo's dad didn't need anything too extreme like he has before.
"I don't really like the way this one looks, but my dad didn't give me much to go on for this one." Ryo complained as he sat back and looked at the diorama that sat in front of him.
"If you don't like it, then just start over Yadonushi." Bakura suddenly piped up as he floated across the room.
"I would, but I don't have time to start over. Father wants this done in three days and I'm running out of time. I don't know what to do." Ryo leaned back in his chair, his head slightly hanging off the head, his long white hair flowing down the back and his doe brown eyes hidden behind his eyelids.
Bakura watched as his Yadonushi started to swing in his chair and the light humming singing started to escape Ryo's lips and fill the small room. Bakura smiled at the sight. Ryo looked so peaceful as he sat there in his chair, and he wouldn't tell Ryo this, but he also felt sad that this could be the last time he would be able to see his Yadonushi in such a way. He looked so at peace and Bakura never had that when he was alive a millennium ago. He hasn't been at peace in so long that he had forgotten what it looked like.
"Yadonushi..." Bakura floated overtop of Ryo and hanged upside-down. His own long white hair waving in midair.
"What is it Bakura?" Ryo looked up at Bakura with his large doe-brown eyes. When Ryo looked at Bakura he noticed that there was something wrong with the way Bakura looked.
"Bakura! You look different today. I know you're a spirit, but you look more transparent than usual. What's wrong?"
As Ryo pointed this out Bakura looked at his hand and it looked like it wasn't even there anymore. A streak of panic suddenly washed over the usual brutal spirit. The one person he didn't want to worry noticed the change he was going through, the change that could change them both if it comes to pass.
"Yadonushi, I-I think our time together may be coming to end very soon. I don't want it to, I've grown to like it here with you but. I don't know what's going on." Bakura was engulfed with sadness. Deep down in his heart he started to realize something he hadn't felt in a long to, love. To Bakura, it was a strange feeling that he failed to understand, seeing how after his parent's death Bakura became brutal and inhuman.
"Then let's do what we can with the time we have left. I-I'm going to be said when you disappear. I've enjoyed the times we've had recently, they've been... they've been really...." Tears suddenly started to fill the young British teen's eyes. He hid his face in his hands and just let the tears fall. Bakura was shocked and worried at the same time.
"Yadonushi?"
"I-I know what you're thinking. I should be happy right? Happy that you're leaveing? But-- maybe if was back when we had problems, but not now! Not when we've been doing so well! I don't want you to go when everything has been so great for us! Why?! Why of all times does this have to happen?!"
Bakura couldn't help but feel like all this was his fault. That if is wasn't for him being here that Ryo wouldn't be feeling his way. He floated in front of Ryo, and (because he was a spirit) sat down right on top of the diorama his Yadonushi had done so poorly on and wrapped his arms around his host's head.
"I'm sorry Yadonushi. I was trying to keep it hidden from you, so wouldn't have to worry about it. But know I see that it was wrong of me to do that. I think I was trying to spare my feelings more than yours because I have grown to enjoy being with you. I have forgotten what it was like to be happy with the people around you and I want to thank you for that. Thank you Yadonushi for putting up with all the bullshit I've put you through and I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused you. So, let's do what you said and do what we can with the time we left together, because you really are my precious Yadonushi." Bakura titled Ryo's chin up, forcing him to look up at Bakura. The one cruel spirit leaned in and kissed Ryo on the forehead and then smiled.
"Bakura?"
"It's fine. You look tired Yadonushi, go rest and don't worry about all of this. I'll stay here by your side until you wake up."
Light tears filled Ryo's eyes as he gave a nod and made his way over to his bed. It only took a few seconds for Ryo to fall asleep. Bakura watched over his Yadonushi like a mother bear watching over her cub. He met every word he said to Ryo. He really was sorry for that had happened between them. All the hardships he had caused his host, but most of all he's sorry for all the words that were unsaid between them. Bakura had come to see Ryo has more than just his Yadonushi.
"Damn it, thesestrange feelings. Why did they have to come around know, of all times.Yadonushi, I'm sorry I never told you, but I really love you."
