Going shopping
(The THH people are third years, the GD people are second and the KH people are also second years but in a lower class than the GD people. Komaru goes to a different high school and Hajime is still in the reserve course but still hangs out with the GD people.)
(Komaru's PoV)
All I wanted to do was to go shopping with my brother and his friends and classmates. We even met up with different classes of his school. All we wanted to do was to buy gifts for our significant other. In some cases, gifts for our crushes. I wanted to buy a gift to cheer Toko up. She wasn't feeling very well so Togami and I were trying to cheer her up. How did they get from the stalker and stalked to being kind of friends I have no idea. Although it might have been from me and Makoto. I was going to babysit the Warriors of Hope later after shopping but apparently not. Alright let me back up a bit and explain why I sound like I'm in a bad mood.
Makoto and I arrived at the mall with Komaeda, Saihara (who is a friend of Kirigiri), Ouma, Tenko (she insisted on me calling her by her first name),Ishimaru, Owada and Maizono . Weird bunch but we all bonded due to the party Enoshima-san threw. Like I said before, we wanted to buy gifts for people. "Hey Komaru, do you think Togami-san would like this?" Makoto held up a thriller novel for me to see. "He'll love it for sure. Togami oddly likes thrillers for a guy like him," I noted. "Yeah, I overheard him talking to Kirigiri about this book series that he was meaning to read," he explained. "Hey big bro, you mind helping me find a gift for Toko?" I asked. "Sure, maybe get her a notebook so she could write down her ideas for books," Makoto suggested. "That's a great idea, thank you!" I said cheerfully.
I went over to an aisle to look for a notebook. "Ah Naegi-chan, you're looking for a notebook too?" Maizono asked. "Just call me Komaru and yeah for Toko. Let me guess, you're looking one for Leon so he would write down his song ideas," I said and she blushed. "Maybe. He told me he's planning on juggling both music and baseball. To hone his talent and to pursue his passion," Maizono explained. "That seems like a great mentality for him. I just hope he doesn't wear himself out," I slightly chuckled.
Komaeda poked his head from the corner. "Did someone say hope?" He asked. "Ah?! Hey don't scare us like that!" Maizono yelped as we both jumped. "You degenerate male! Don't scare these fair ladies like that!" I heard Tenko yell at him. "I'm sorry, trash like me should know their place," Komaeda apologized. I heard Saihara say something but he speaks in a low voice that I couldn't hear exactly what he said.
Komaeda left, probably to go around spreading the message of hope to other people around the mall. Maybe we should have kept an eye on him but none of us could have predicted the future.
"Hey is that Nanami-chan over there," Maizono asked, squinting her eyes. I looked at the direction she was looking at and yep, the Ultimate Gamer was there having a conversation with Komaeda.
"Looks like we wouldn't need to worry about watching Komaeda so he wouldn't cause any trouble with that bad luck of his," Maizono sighed in relief. I went back to looking for the perfect notebook for Toko.
I eventually settled on a purple notebook with the words "Love" in bold. Toko has been writing a lot of romance novels lately. Mainly of LGTBQ+. A lot of people have been loving her current novel, 'The Sadness in her Eyes' which is about a girl who realized that she has feelings for her childhood friend but is afraid of telling her because the homophobics in that girl's family. I read it and it's seriously good but Toko has writer's block on the second book. See, she's planning on writing three books in that series but she has no idea what plot line is best for the second one. Which is why I'm getting her a gift to maybe write down her ideas to see if she can get past her writer's block.
I got the notebook and went up to the cashier to pay for it. I saw Tenko and Ouma already there. Tenko was also holding a notebook but this one was red and sparkly. Ouma has holding a novel but I couldn't tell what genre it was.
"I'll buy it for you since you forgot your wallet. Now suck up that feminist persona of yours and let me fu**ing help you," Ouma said. "No I refuse that a degenerate male has to help me," Tenko snapped, glaring at him. "Hey what's going on here?" I asked, walking up to them. "Oh Komaru you're here. I uh have forgotten my wallet to pay for this notebook I want to give Himiko but my pride would just not let me have Ouma pay for it along with his gift," Tenko explained. "Then swallow that pride of yours. No one is going to know. Unless you want me to spread it around like a rumor nishishi~," Ouma giggled. "You wouldn't, you degenerate male!" Tenko yelled angrily. "Calm down, if it makes you happy I'll pay for it," I said, hoping that this situation wouldn't get out of hand. "Hmm alright, I'll let it slide this time," Tenko said and handed me the notebook.
I payed for both notebooks and Ouma payed for the novel. When I saw what genre it was (it was a mystery novel) I smiled for I knew who it was for. "Is that for your beloved Shumai~?" I teased. Ouma stuck his tongue at me, playfully. "Laugh it up Komaru-chan," he said. I laugh at this.
"No running in the store!" It was Ishimaru. He was probably yelling at some kids who are running around. "There's no need to raise your voice Taka," I heard Mondo said. "I apologize," Ishimaru said, loudly. I almost giggled at this. Those two are so cute together, I thought.
I walked out of the store with the notebook in my hand just as something went whizzing by me. I have just stepped into chaos.
What was in front of me were people screaming and running away, the fountain spilling water all over the place, toys running rampage, marbles were on the floor and people slipping on them and you get the idea. Seems random until I saw Komaeda in the corner, unsure what to do. I jogged up to him, carefully as of not to trip on the marbles and the wet floor.
"What's going on?" I asked. "So umm you know my good luck, bad luck thing. Well I just realized that I was having too much good luck and then my bad luck struck. First whatever held the remote controlled toys broke, the bag of marbles broke, the fountain broke down and you get idea," Komaeda explained. That explains a lot.
"Where's Nanami-San?" I asked. "In the arcade," Komaeda explained. Great, I thought sarcastically. "Komaru! What's going on?" I heard Maizono cry from behind me. "Watch out for the marbles and wet floor!" I heard my brother from behind her.
"Too late," I heard Saihara mutter as Maizono tripped. Thank goodness she wasn't wearing anything too revealing. "Maizono-chan!" Tenko cried. "I'm alright," Maizono assured her.
"Everyone go to the exit in a civil manner!" I heard Ishimaru shout. Unfortunately there weren't many who listened. Why? Because they were panicking.
"This is more chaotic than the time the vending machine ran out of Panta," Ouma said. "Wait didn't you start the riot?" Tenko asked. "Oh yeah but I didn't expect it to expand that much," he pointed out. "That was a wild day," Saihara muttered.
"Can't your good luck do something about this?" I asked Komaeda. He narrowed his eyes. "No it doesn't work that way. Such trash like me doesn't have on and off super powers. I can't control my luck," he explained.
I let out a sigh. As expected.
"So what the hell do we do now?" Mondo shouted as he stood above the rest of the people who were running away. "Why don't you do something, degenerate!" Tenko shouted as she jumped onto a random table to avoid getting trampled. Ouma joined her but then he got shoved off.
"Oh screw you Chabashira!" He shouted. "Don't worry little guy, I got you," Mondo picked up Ouma so he wouldn't get trampled.
"Friends! We must evacuate in a civil manner!" Ishimaru shouted. "Wait what about Nanami?" Komaeda asked. That's right! She's still in the arcade! I thought.
"I'll go get her," Saihara ran off, bumping into other people.
"Everything is chaotic!" Tenko held on to her little sanctuary. Maizono ran up to me.
"We got to go. Like now," she said. "Agreed," I nodded. "Leave me here. Such trash doesn't deserve to be rescued," Komaeda said.
"That's nonsense. It's either none of us or all of us," Maizono grabbed his arm and pulled Komaeda and I away.
We ran off trying to find an exit. That's when we bumped into two people arguing. It was Saionji and Iruma.
"We're not using your shitty invention to blow up an entrance!" Saionji shouted. "Watch and learn small tits!" Iruma yelled and held up a strange object.
"Wait Iruma hold o-!" Maizono cried but too late. The object blasted a shoe store. No one was in there but no more shoes.
"Erm...whoops...," Iruma said and threw the invention away.
"Way to go filthy cum dumpster," Ouma yelled. "H-hee~," Iruma moaned. Not this again, I thought.
And then... we heard someone speak. In a language that we didn't understand.
Someone in red and gold armor came flying around, looking at the damage in the shoe store.
There was a man in blue clothing and was holding a large dinner plate shaped shield. He jogged up to the person in the armor and exchanged a few words.
"I think this is the part where we run," Iruma whispered. "Agreed," Saionji said.
They both ran off.
The man turned to us and shouted something.
Uh oh, I thought.
"I think we should also run," Komaeda suggested. "You don't say," I said while Maizono nodded.
We ran.
