I walk into the area of the paddock that Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo are in and I smile noticing Barry standing in front of the cage. Barry our co - worker and a good friend.

" Hey, Alex." he greets. I pat his shoulder and greet him. " Hi, Barry."  I walk past him and to the stairs of the catwalk that Owen is standing on.

I walk over to Owen and stand besides him. Noticing me standing there, he smirks. " Oh, look who decided to show up."

I roll my eyes. " Well, I'm sorry that my brothers visited me."

Owen rolls his eyes and shrugs his shoulders. " Excuses, excuses." I punch his shoulder and he laughs.

" Eyes on us." Owen says to the four raptors below as he turns his attention back to them. Owen had a clicker in his hand that he uses to get their attention. I always have mine with me but I figured Owen could handle this.

" Hey, Charlie, eyes. " Owen said in a stern voice since she wasn't paying attention. I notice that the other three were listening.

" Blue, don't give me that look." I tell her since she was acting him and she normally doesn't. She whines in response but calms down.

Eventually, Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo had their eyes on us and I smile.

Owen looks over at me and nods. I pick up a rat from the bucket that was between us." Delta," I say as I throw the rat over to her and she catches it.

Owen also had a rat in his hand and held it up. " Charlie," he said and threw the rat over to her.

" Echo." I said, tossing a rat over to her.

" Okay, Blue. Get ready." I tell her and I smile as she perks up at hearing her name.

Owen picks up the last rat. " This one's for you Blue." he tosses it over to her who catches it in her mouth.

It's obvious that Owen has a stronger connection with Blue which makes sense because Blue was the first to hatch and Owen was there when it happened. I was there also but me and Blue just don't have a strong bond like hers and Owen's. I'm fine with that since I have a stronger connection with my own raptor.

" Okay, hold." I say with my hand up and their eyes on me. I share a look with Owen and he nods. I look back at the four raptors below us. " And go!" As I say that the four girls run off into the enclosure.

Barry walks over to us with a smile on his face as he shakes Owen's hand and gives me a hug. " You guys finally did it!" Our good friend and coworker Barry congratulated us. " I never understand how they pay attention to you two. It's like your dino whisperers."

I chuckle. " Yeah, I guess so."

We start to walk down the catwalk when a larger man with a goatee walks over to us and I immediately glare at him, crossing my arms over my body almost defensively as he walks towards me and Owen. I didn't even realize that I moved closer to Owen, our shoulders now touching.

" Alex! Owen!" I closed my eyes tight, and take a deep breath, not wanting to turn around and talk to him because he's annoying and treats all kind of dinosaurs awfully.

" For a second I was starting to think I got the wrong people to do this but you got them eating out of your palm. " Hoskins said and I open my eyes to see him shaking Owen's hand but I could tell Owen was tense even though he looked calm." Well, you visited on a good day," Owen says.

" There's not usually a happy ending." I finished his statement as I refuse to shake Hoskins hand when he reached his hand out.

Hoskins looks at the both of us. " Is this why you both aren't sending in your reports?"

" We've been busy." Barry speaks up and I shoot him a thankful smile and he returns a smile.

" To busy to catch your paycheck?" Hoskins asks with a raised brow. I roll my eyes and start to walk away but Barry grabs my arm pulling me back and I glare at him. I pull my arm out of his grasp and cross my arms. Did he not understand that I hate this guy? No one makes me want to punch his face so much.

Owen nods at him. " Whatcha need buddy?" he asks and it was obvious he was annoyed. So was I since I couldn't leave yet.

" Field test." Was all for Hoskins to say to make me walk away and Owen was right by my side. Obviously Hoskins didn't get the idea that we didn't want to talk about this now so he decided to follow and talk to us.

" Hey, I just saw them respond to command. We need to take it to research - "

" They're not wild animals Hoskins." I interrupt him ignoring the look he sent me. " Trust us, you don't want them in the field." Owen added as we walk off the catwalk.

" I just saw a bond. A real bond. Between man, woman and beast." I glare at him as he calls the raptors beast. One of the many reasons why I hate this guy.

" Your in our way." I say, seeing that he was standing in front of us now blocking our path.

"Pig loose!" A worker yells.

I glance over my shoulder seeing a worker on the catwalk trying to grab the pig with the net but before he could pull it up, Echo snatched the pig with her jaws and ran, pulling the worker over the railing in the process. My eyes widened as Blue, Charlie and Delta surround him. Me and Owen share a worried look before running towards the door of the enclosure.

I watch as Owen presses the button that lifts up the cage and lets us into the enclosure. " Owen! What the heck are you doing, stupid?" I yell as I run up to him and grab his arm.

He looks back at me. " Someone has to do something and it ain't gonna be you." he knows me well enough that I was going to go in after him since I wasn't just gonna let him me in there alone. He could get hurt badly or killed.

" Owen, no!" Barry yells from the front of the enclosure as Owen pushes me back honestly quite roughly, at least hard enough to make me fall back on the ground and hit the wall with the back of my head and I slowly began to sit up, holding my hand up to my head, watching as Owen slides under the opening of the door into the enclosure.

Barry runs over to and pushes a button, stopping the door from rising since he was waiting for the right time to get the worker out. He walks over to me and reaches a hand towards me. " You okay?"

I nod and take his hand and he helps me stand up. " Yeah, just have a headache now. But, Owen might not be okay." I mumble the last part and walk over to the door with Barry, watching Owen stand in front of the worker that was on the ground and he raises his hands to get the four raptors attention.

I look at the catwalk hearing the sound of a click coming from a gun and my eyes widened seeing two guys have guns aimed at the girls. Now I'm not only worried for Owen, but I'm worried for the girls too.

" Hold your fire!" I yell at them but they didn't seem to hear me.

" Don't fire! Didn't any of you idiots hear her?" Owen yelled at them. " Put 12 amps in them and they'll never trust me again." he mumbles angrily.

My gaze goes over to the worker that's behind Owen and back to the girls. They seem distracted so I pat Barry's shoulder. " Get the boy." he nods and quickly grabs ahold of the boy's shoulders, pulling him out of the enclosure.

" Blue. Stand down." Owen says sternly and I look back at Owen and the four raptors. " Stand down." Blue lets out a small roar at him as Owen stays completely still with one hand out in front of him. " Hey, hey! What did I just say?"

I bite my lower lip nervously, watching as Delta steps closer to Owen. " Delta, I see you. Back up!" Owen tells her, now he has both of his hands raised out in front of him.

" Okay, good." he says seeing that the girls were starting to calm down.

" C'mon, Owen. You can do it." I mumble nervously. I notice that Owen was starting to slowly walk backwards towards the door. Smart.

" Good." Owen tells them and I notice something. " Charlie!" I yell. " You better not move!" She looks over at me then back at Owen and stays where she is.

" Good." Owen says once more seeing the girls were listening.

" Close the gate." Owen tells us and my eyes widened. 

" Are you crazy?" Barry asks the question I was thinking. I don't know what I would've done if I was in Owen's situation. I trust the Raptors, but I wouldn't want to do something insane like this and possibly die.

Owen looks back at us. " Hey," he says and locks eyes with me. " just trust me." My heart was beating out of chest and all of the wrong outcomes came flooding through my head but I nodded because I do trust him.

" Close the gate!" the freaked out worker yelled.

I walk over to the control panel and glance back at Barry who's standing besides me with a worried look on his face. I look back at Owen and shakily press the button and the door starts to  close. I walk back to stand in front of the gate, biting my lower lip as I anxiously watch Owen, hoping he knows what he's doing because the door was almost closed all the way.

At the last second, Owen tricks the girls and jumps over to the gate, rolling under the gate just as the four raptors run after him and the door closes. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding once Owen was here, on the safe side.

I couldn't help but jump as the four girls screech and try to grab through the bars at Owen.

I immediately run over to him and grab onto his arm and help him up. I wrap my arms around him in a tight hug but I didn't let him have a chance to wrap his arms around me because I pulled away and punched him in the shoulder roughly.

He glares at me and rubs his shoulder where I punched him. " Hey! What was that for? I'm getting mix emotions here."

" You could've gotten killed!" I tell him. Owen nods. " That's true, but I'm alive aren't I? And you're the one that closed the gate." I narrow my eyes at him. " You are the one that told me to!"

He shrugs his shoulders. " Technically I didn't tell you do to anything. I could've been talking to Barry. But, thanks for trusting me."

I roll my eyes again and cross my arms. " Yeah, whatever."

Owen glances over at the worker that was still on the ground. " You're the new guy right?" he asks.

The worker nods. " Yeah."

" You ever wonder why there's a job opening?" Owen asks and the worker's eyes widened.

" Hey," I speak up getting the boy's attention. " Don't ever turn your back on the cage. It always ends badly."
